Netfront Internet Browser Beta 4: ChickHEN support, Password Protection, more |
Ó

With ChickHEN finally enabling homebrew for PSP-3000s, some of the more prominent homebrew projects out there are now stepping up with some compatibility updates. And because we all love unlocking some RAM while browsing on our PSPs, Team P86 has released the latest beta version for Netfront Internet Browser, and sure enough, it can now run on PSP-3000s with ChickHEN.
Aside from HEN support, beta 4's got some serious bang for the buck too, even if you're not using a PSP-3000, including password protection and improved stability. This version works on PSP-1000, -2000, and -3000, just so long as you're on 5.00 M33-6 or ChickHEN.
Here's the full changelog and some additional notes:
Beta 4 - What's New
- Annoying prompt was removed.
- HEN support was added(Also PSP-3000 support)
- The theme was changed(EBOOT music, background etc...)
- We won't remove music etc. because they don't matter...
- It is more stable.
- Password Protected Version is added...
- On ChickHEN, HighMemMod always uses the same memory on all PSPs(32 MB). Because the extra RAM parts of Slim and Brite has been locked by Sony. HighMemMod would use all memory if M33 files was added to ChickHEN...
- Copy the ProtectedHtmlMax_Eng folder to PSP/GAME.
- To use this feature, you should change your parental level to 10 or you should change it to OFF!
- And you can add password to your browser for safety(XMB>Settings>Secur ity Settings)
- Copy vsh folder to your flash0 and Enjoy...

"We won't remove music etc. because they don't matter." Yes they do matter. You claimed a feature in an earlier version was that you reduced the size of the eboot. Well now 3/4 of the eboot is your music and background. You're wasting space. It also slows down the XMB. "Annoying prompt was removed." Thank you. All of the prompts or just the one at boot?
"And you can add password to your browser for safety(XMB>Settings>Secur ity Settings)" It's "And you can add password to your browser for safety(XMB>Settings>Security Settings).
I created the eboot logo and the background. I also added a song that fits the background. 500kb is small for an eboot, most eboots are bigger and if you don't want to the song in it, you could easily remove it ^^. I prefer beauty over space.
i have a 3K running chickHEN and i wanted to download an earlier build of this but i found it was a flash0 app. so im happy i can use it now :)
Works the same as version 3, minus the annoying prpmpt. The music never really bothered me, I like the way the icon looks better now. Congrats to 3000 owners who can now surf the web way faster!!
To all of you crying about the music, if you make a program this awesome, then you can choose to have music in your eboot or not. Deal with it.
The filesize isn't that large to begin with, and I didn't notice any music. Either way, this is an awesome browser. I don't know why Sony couldn't have given us something like this instead of the bogged down version they included in the firmware.
Thanks you guys!! =)
need to learn to be more grateful.
i flashed that plugin, did nothing but reboot me when i press the internet button, why not make (for 1K and 2K users) a plugin to flash or enable, so we can just click the internet browser icon on the xmb? it will be smaller, and it will have no music, so all of you can stop *****ing, if u dont like it, use an older version, just throwing that out there? hope it happens....
why not just use the eboot?
Hey does anyone know where do I get that Eboot Music? Those hip hop beat..I love it..I want it Full instrumental..
The music never really bothered me that much (it's crap sure, but I'm never on the icon that long enough for it to get a chance to annoy me) but I wouldn't mind knowing how you actually can remove these things from any program. Still a great browser.
whats the difference between this h t m l viewer and sony's ? also i dont know if it is just me but the flash games seem to run the same speed as before..... I run the from the memstick using an h t m l doc named INDEX.... the index contains this code THAT IS IN, BUT DOES NOT INCLUDE the quotes: "......href="/galaxyan.swf">..........." which some how runs the game from the web browser.... but websites do come faster good job!
that is not the whole code apparently I cant for some reason
that prompt was the worst. i hated it
Let's all cry because you're still using a 32mb MS.
do i put the vsh/module/prx file in the flash????
