I doubt this will stop the nay sayers because i remember MaGiXieN had some controversy of his own a while back, i believe it's real but you got some people here that will disagree even if they know it's real.. You know who i'm talking about.
I'm pretty sure these developers have lots of kernel exploits in there arsenal they've been keeping secret from the public but even if they release the game and the exploit, the only way to get the game is though psn and sony would take it down immediately as soon as they got the name. there's no homebrew future for the psp go in the area of game exploits. However any other psp with a umd including the new rumored one is another story.

Why is anyone doubting this to begin with? FreePlay is kind of a ***** at times but the dude is legit and contributed a ton to the scene. There's no reason whatsoever to question the legitimacy of his exploit.

He might release the expoit to programmers or reputable hackers so that the hack can eventually become a HEN or it might even become a flash accessable type hack.

Well, at the moment it doesn't matter whether it's real or not. That's a wrong and useless question because the exploit cannot be used for anything except to brag being the one who found it. It won't serve the PSP community. If this will be any use for someone, it's for FreePlay and pals. Maybe he is able to get himself a hacked PSP GO in the future, if he wants to. For the everyone else, Sony will patch the security hole of the PSN game at the moment it's revealed.
All these people who doubted FreePlay are retards. Is he a douche? Sure, and I bet he would freely admit it, and be somewhat proud of that. But as far as anything PSP goes, the man has my vote.

ChickHEN used a tiff exploit that could only be patched by changing the firmware. This uses a gamesave for a download only game that can be easily patched. Its a bit different unfortunately :(

This is an exploit not a hack and freeplay was not the one to find it. He is just the one showing it is real.

It is advancing a lot of *****! But nothing you would give two *****s about. Dumping the memory (even if just the user, not kernel, memory), and having a flash dump is a huge step. It doesn't mean ***** to the average user. So why the ***** would they want to release it so Sony can patch it? This exploit means more than 50% of people understand. Kernel mode isn't necessary for HEN. HEN is used to patch memory to allow running homebrew. Kernel mode is only necessary for flashing custom firmware and Piracy.

a kernel mode would secure cfw and future hacks than a HEN, that said, HEN will lead us to kernel usage.

You do remember the Memory dumpers? Or the Theme splitters and unpackers. And the biggest bit of all Team WildC*rd? He and a team reversed engineered DAX's code. I think he did quite a bit for a common and usual poster of comments on this site.

CFW is for homebrew specifically not ISO's. And HEN lets you run homebrew but nothing that can touch the flash on the PSP GO. And kernel usage isnt really top priority its more on HEN and then build on that. Just imagine a skyscraper with this as the foundations and the top being CFW.
But for the Pirates its a place that holds no bounty.
They probably do but they might be using the ones which are easy for us to use but also harder to patch. And they also have to look at the future of the exploit. If they think that it isn't going to go very far they cut it off.
Same thinking of a business, if they thing a venture is to expensive they cut funding of it.

You need Kernel mode to patch the memory the way HEN does it. The ChickHEN uses a User mode exploit to launch, and a kernel mode exploit to work.
You make my point for me!!!!! This hack does not matter to most of us, so why do we keep reporting on it? The people that do/will benefit from it already know about it (butt-buddies of Freeplay). So why post videos for the rest of us to see unless you're out to brag?
Either way, I don't care. I don't plan to buy a PSP GOne so I could care less if it's hacked. Personally, I think it'll be a flop, but we'll see...

So the exploit is real,then does anyone have any guess what game could this be? Gran Turismo? MotorStorm? O.o
... QJ please verify this as well and do it as a sticky so we are all constantly reminded of it, it would also help if Maxconsole could independently verify the authenticity of this monumental finding as well, lastly if this and all other postings by Freeplay could be separately emailed to everyone in the World that would be great.

But again, that was a savegame off of a UMD. They can patch the game and released new UMD's, but you can still get your hands on the unpatched versions and use the exploit. This uses the same idea, maybe even the same code, but unfortunately its a downloaded game.

You're right, but you missed a few things:
- Even 'unpatched' Gripshift UMDs will no longer work for later firmwares; Sony patched it internally as of 5.02.
- The most important thing about UMD exploits is that you're essentially never forced to update if you don't want to. The problem with the PSP Go is that you MUST update to the latest FW if you want to keep accessing PSN, which is your only avenue for getting games. Sony could force you to update to a 'patched' FW just to keep access. With a UMD option, you could simply get older ones that didn't need FW updates, and choose to stay in your 'unpatched' FW.
Does everyone in the world include Sony? That would be a bad idea.
Seriously, it will be a bad idea to send it to everyone, say, who posts here. We don't even know if there are people who work for Sony here, and could easily spill the beans and get the exploit flashed quick.

Some people are just pussies when it comes to admitting they were clearly wrong in believing/defending "team" Mack, even going as far as to question Freeplay's validity. The hack is not going to be shared only because this is sony's first time trumping cfw. If this game's title were released, every one who downloads it would be disconnected from the network, either because the game was removed to patch or the version requirement of the PS store was increased to 6.100000000001. Then if the was more to come of the exploit, THEN Freeplay and friends would be the only ones to have it. At this stage the community would only be hurt by sony's increase in defense, but never intelligence, against homebrew. I also agree the PSP Go sucks. But if I was somehow blessed with custom fimware, iso support, and 5 brightness settings I'd think the PSP Go was the best PSP ever made. The only thing honestly holding it back is sony...
just accept what you have infront of you, its an exploit that was found and both dev's Freeplay and Magixien have showed exploit...one in english and one in french proof enough that the dev's have to edit something to insert that text, well I accept this but whether or not it will amount to a hack, we'll wait and see
FreePlay, I didn't use anything on that list except for the radio stations, which is of course why I remembered. In that regard, I don't really mind, and I don't see why you would care enough to show me like you're trying to impress people. Then again I think that's what you've been trying to do with these videos, but there's already a 200+ comment article about that so I'm dropping it.

If the game is downloaded onto your PSP Go and you transfer it to your computer for archiving via MediaGO, the ONLY thing keeping you from transferring it to another PSP and playing straight away is the DRM.

if this hack advances, then it could mean psp 3000 hen firmware could be upgraded from 5.03... to whatever firmware freeplay desires to unleash this.

if you have a 5.05 PSP and try to use chickHEN, even though the tiff exploit works in 5.05, you'll get a red screen and a text file in the root of memstick called hen_error.txt saying for 5.03 firmware only.
so chickHEN would have to be coded for whatever firmware FreePlay wants to run it on.

I sincerely hope it leads to something - it does give us hope that further development may be possible with the hardware.
I have to say that I think the PSP Go is a far more legitimate target for CFW than previous models, as there really is no other way to play games on the system that aren't available via PSN. I'd love to play Gundam or Project DIVA on the Go, so I'll keep my fingers crossed that one day someone with greater skills than mine will open up the system so I can get rid of the older models.

if they allowed homebrew and concentrated on blocking only ISO loaders and other piracy techniques the PSP would own all,
i think the problem is that its quite hard to allow homebrew without someone eventually coding an iso loader.
i think this may be the reason the second OS option was removed for PS3 as well.
sony's employees must have seen a security hole and decided to get rid of the threat before anyone else found it.
to me, the hypervisor seemed to be doing its job well.
the PS3 is still the only console without an exploit (well if you mod it slightly you can play ps2 backups, but oh well, PS2 was last gen)

The "deep fry" stuff was in reference to something I saw on American television. I can't remember the name of the show, but the guy made fun jokes about the US after Obama's election. His stuff ended up with : "Can we deep fry it? Yes we can". So, that was just a stupid reference and I didn't want it to be insulting.
Anyways, what you said was my point: Because of its history, food in the US has its roots mostly in other countries (and somehow gets greasy in the process - aw, don't hit me, it hurts :P), which is why I think criticizing other countries's food when you're American is way over the top.
Oh, and I'm not "going by what I hear". I lived in several countries, and the US is the only place I had to struggle to get acceptable (healthy) food for a reasonable price. If you travel outside of the US (which you might have done already), you will be surprised at how easy it is to get a healthy lunch for less than 8$ in most countries of the world. That's not the case in the US. At least not where I've been.

An eloader for the Go is proving to be more difficult than I'd imagined. I could likely make one for FW 5.03 or FW 5.50, but until someone cracks the Go's firmware update, it may be a lost cause. I have no way of making my NID resolver work when there are dozens of new functions on the Go that have completely unknown NIDs.
