"Drink Up!" - New eLoader v0.99 "Märzenbier" Released with 2.70 and 2.71 Kernel Support! |
The Noobz team has done it again with their developer’s mysterious magic that brought us all the previous eLoaders. eLoader is the famous 2.0-2.60 program that enables consumers to execute homebrew on their PSP with little trouble at all. This new version of eLoader however has been a huge leap in the homebrew scene as two new firmwares are fully supported – 2.70 and 2.71.
Yes, that is absolutely, positively a correct and valid statement! 2.70 and 2.71 are now supported by this new eLoader – Märzenbier. Along with a new name as all eLoaders – it has also been announced that 2.5-2.71 will support kernel mode with some exceptions. I believe the developers themselves handle this technological situation better than I would, so please take the time to read what they have had to said about kernel mode –
As well as support for the v2.7 firmwares, there is also limited kernel mode support on v2.5-v2.71. This means that the .init program section (which contains functions declared with the 'constructor' attribute) will be called in kernel-mode for homebrew built with the kernel mode attribute. Note that you cannot create kernel-mode threads from the init functions in this release, due to security checks in the firmware.

Coz, if u have kernell access u dont need to downgrade and can run apps in your current FW getting all the benefits of the actual FW

Just wanted to point out that the installer (exe) and zip file link is the same - you get the zip-file even if you try to download the installer.
To download the installer, until they fix the link, just replace the last digit in the link adress from "1" to "2".

Because the new eloader installs new files in the root of your psp that have the same name as the old eloader. Like the utilis file in your root, or the bin file, and some game saves.

I don't have a 2.7x PSP, great job on the kernel eloader. Sadly, I upgraded to 2.8 :(

I think that Fanjita died and only Ditlew is left. Thats why recently the've been making useless things like 2.01 downgraders and 2.71 eLoader®'s. Perhaps Ditlew killed him cause recent eLoader®'s said Fanjita in the GTA savegame exploit and he was jelous. lol just a thought. I hope they make a 2.80 eLoader® soon if there still alive.

All you morons complaining about a 2.7x eloader need to just shut up. I'll summarize it for you:
-Some people have TA-82 motherboards, therefore cannot downgrade.
-Making a eloader for 2.8 is going to be a lot harder, so QUIT crying that you've been checking for an eloader for a couple of weeks. These kinds of things take time, and proving that this is possible with 2.7x should only give you more hope, not increase the amount you cry.
-Many of you probably willingly upgraded to 2.8, and therefore I could care less that you can't run homebrew. Too bad...guess you didn't want it so badly then!
If a 2.8 eloader comes out, you'll need to give it time. Telling the developers that their work is worthless is only going to make them mad, and they'll end up screwing you over by ending all developments on eloader. Then I'd laugh at you pathetic cry babies as you beg for forgiveness! MUAHAHA.

tried with devhook really nice i could load some of my homebrew while on 2.71 but no irshell or anything like that of course since kernel is limited but well its progress one day 2.71 will have 1.5 capabilities but until that day ill stick to 1.5

i got a psp off ebay that said it was 1.5, when i got it, it had 2.8 on it. still, missing my point. everyone is being assinine about the whole thing and saying that 2.8 doesnt deserve it. im sure im not the only one who had no choice, christ i was around when the homebrew started appearing for the psp. i used my friends 1.5 to use homebrew. now i got this piece of ***** (almost as useless as a bricked psp) 2.8.

How to sustain a good community for "psp homebrew":
Everyone should:
Work together to suite all users needs
form a colaberation of developers that can work on all aspects of the psp and its firmwares.
not say "2.8 and blah blah blah shouldnt be alloud to have upgrades"
dont get pissed off at the newbies. they are new, they need help. they want to get in on this. this applies to the statement above.
not make everyone miss out, it just tampers with peoples minds. makes them tedius. and stop saying "this is one step forward" how many steps are there? and why say that if its not progressing?
whatever happened to mature communitys working hard towards something so good?
the people arent at fault for upgrading. if they are new, they probably dont have any idea. people will just get p.o'd at this type of behaviour and leave. isnt QJ.net a community run site? shouldnt the community help each other out? if you dont that only makes you ignorant and rude.

Can someone with a 2.71 firmware confirm if the Deadalus n64 emulator works? I currently have a 2.00 firmware, but I really want to play that Killzone demo that I got, which happens to have v 2.71. I still want to play snes and deadalus though, so again, can someone please confirm if Deadalus works? I need to know if I should upgrade or not.

HOWEVER,
the 2.8 users that are getting flamed my myself (anymous posting rocks!!! - not) and others are the ones that TRULY don't deserve it the eloader because they claim that the NOOBZ team's work is "worthless" and are DEMANDING a 2.8 eloader/downgrader.
it is these sad pathetic fools that are deserving of all flames and who should not ever be allowed to run any sort of eloader EVER, even though there is now way to actually make that happen.
we are certainly not bashing ALL 2.8x users and you can see that there are many 2.8ers that have praised the Noobz team and said things like "can't wait for 2.8 to be haxored" or something like that.
its the whining demanding ingrates that are getting most of the attention and abuse and rightly so as they evidently feel that the Noobz team are obligated to serve them and should have had the 2.8 eloader out by "yesterday"

Very well put logicbomb.de. That is exactly the way I feel. People have no patience anymore, and they expect that developers somehow owe them something. What they don't seem to realize is that these people have lives too, and they don't work for sony directly, so hacking a system isn't easy at all. 2.7/1 came out first because it was next it line, and they actually had a way to hack it at the moment. On the other hand, they are unsure how to get kernel mode running on 2.8, so it is going to take them a lot of trials and errors to get a working hack.
People need to understand that any one of these coders could just leave the scene at any moment with no new eloader released. They owe us nothing, and we should all be thankful that they are even helping the community at all. From now on, the people that complain should just be ignored/banned (that will easily solve everything).

ill stick with the .97 eloader... until the tiff loader works just as well
it works fine with snes, nesterj, e-mulator and cps1 but crashed with cps2 emulator (it worked on eloader 0.98)

THIS WORKS with 2.6 no need to Upgrade firmware ... YOU must learn to read the readme file...
i also tried gpsp0.7 and crashed (it seem a problem with exception catching that is improved on 0.99)
i reccomend if you have 2.5 or 2.6 stick with 0.98, and don't upgrade to 2.7 or 2.71. Maybe they fix this issue later, or maybe the next updates of CPS2 and GPSP supports 0.99
for the moment stick with 0.98 if you can

i tryed on 2.80 it freezes i tryed 3 times one time text showed up and psp screen went black it froze... i dont think it bricks 2.80
This is because it wasn't made for 2.8 yet. There may be an eloader coming out for 2.8 in the future, but there are still many emulators that I would like to see work in the current version. Hopefully Noobz will figure out work arounds to get dgen, gpsp, etc to work ;) We can only hope!
those of you who ask for 2.80 downgrader.. WTF why the hell would you update to 2.8 at first place? I bet most you you knw full will that by upgrading you can't play homebrew(duh) also you guys all prob used homebrew before...

anyone having hard time loading up eloader on 2.71? it load up more times in 2.6, but on 2,71 it took me 20 trys... wtf? anyone got an answer?
if your having problems with the eloader. make sure to check your tiff games if you have any. you wil have to remove tetris from the photo menu. i noticed that the eloder uses a file tetris.bin the same file as the tiff game (tetrs) uses. it wont start. remove tetris from yor photo menu. for the eloader to work correctly

2.8 was out long before the tiff exploit AND the 2.71 downgrader, so don't give me any of this "You should have magically known not to upgrade, but upgraded anyway, Loser!!1!1!!!1!" *****. Like I said before (#35), I lost hope and patience. That doesn't make me stupid, just rational.

I'm not going to bash the fact that you upgraded or anything, but everyone should know that the basic rule for getting to run home brew (when they are at a firmware that doesn't support firmware) is not to upgrade. This is because earlier versions of firmware will get cracked first. I upgraded to 2.6 (from 2.5) just because I read enough to know how similar the firmwares were. So everyone make sure you read and look into the consequences of upgrading before you do. If you buy a game that needs a higher firmware though, I say go ahead and upgrade.
to all u 2.8 users, just be patient. all the rest of us had to wait for months and months until a 2.5/2.6 downgrader came out, but then finally it did. Have faith in Fanjita, Ditlew, Dark_Alex and all the other devs that they are working on 2.8, either as an eloader, downgrader or whatever, and it wont be long til its released. in the meantime, congrats Noobz on the great work, u never cease to amaze me!

xfadex999, I never flamed you if you were referring to me. I just wanted to get out to everyone that if they were thinking about upgrading, to at least understand what they were doing. The problem is that many people buy a psp and just assume that they can run homebrew on it, so they get the psp, upgrade, and later realize what they've done.
I know what you mean about flamers here though,...as i don't post here often because there are a lot of in-mature people here. I'm not a 2.8 hater either ;), I'll probably even upgrade to 3.0 if the ps1 emulator ends up being any good. I really wasn't directing that post towards you, as your posts were rational...while others were not.

There are no chance to bricks. Not unless you try running a downgrader or put a "virus" onto your PSP. If you download it from this site, and download all your your emulators/games/programs to run on the eloader from this site, I can guarantee that you won't brick your PSP.
Just don't run a downgrader if you have a TA-82 motherboard ;)

i'm happy that eloader works for 2.71 now.. i have 2.8 as i upgrade too when i had my psp. i'm not crying about it though because it was my choice. of course i know that it might be difficult for the noob team to get eloader working on 2.8 but i'm willing to wait, i'm in for the long run. beside we do have some tiff exploit game that run that way. also there is a lot of good games on the psp (wipeout pure, daxter, pacman world 3, nhl 07,twisted meta head on, namco museum,...) and even more coming (start wars, nedd for speed carbon, virtual tennis 3, battelfield 2, tiger wood 07, ...) so it's not so bad. that machine can also play video, audio, photo, internet. not so bad after all. so stay put and if it's possible noob's team will make it happen and do an eloader... if not at least you have a great machine and if your not happy, you can always go to the gpx32 platform...

Okay here we go : to emulate snes , you can use 2 emulators : uosnes or snes9xtyl . uosnes is easier to use but most people will tell you snes9xtyl is better. to use snes9xtyl , you need to place it at : PSP/GAME . Your snes roms can be anywhere on your memory stick , but you will have to find them with the emulator. (you can place it in the snes directory it makes it easier : D)then initiate the eloader. you should see "snes9xtyl" on the emenu. press X . If it all went right you ll see a message from the guy who created the emulator : scroll down and press circle. then you will have to find your games using the menu (if they' re in the right snes9xtyl directory you won t have to do it) . then select your game and launch it (circle) . play !!!

There are additionnal features like screenshots , instant save states ... use them by pressing r + l while playing . you ll get to the menu . : )

I was wondering, in snes9xtyl there are 2 versions 1.0 and 1.5, which one should I use? I've got 2.71.
And there are 2 folders in each version, one regular and one with "%" both of them should be placed in PSP>GAME right?

And I downloaded the emulator (rar) from the database by pickin 2.7 but i've got 2.71?

You obviously don't know anything about 1.5, do you? I have a 2.6 myself, but 1.5s can run a program called devhook which run firmwares up to 2.71 (I believe) at the moment (yes, that means running games that require up to firmware 2.71). So basically, they can do everything that your 2.8 can do, except A LOT more. Why do you think that everyone stays with 1.5?

Ok, so I got on to gpSP and it came up with a black screen and the files in the directory GPSP under PSP/GAME.
I have the GBA BIOS (btw, this is gpSP 0.5 version) and a Pokemon Ruby.gba ROM file.
I click "o" on the ROM file, it plays the GBA start up thing and then it gives me an error.
When i click "o" on the GBA_BIOS.BIN file it says "Failed to initialize Pokemon Ruby.GBA. Now Exiting."
Any ideas on how to fix this? Or is this because I have 2.7 on eLoader?
On Daedalus, I can get into the game but sometimes it freezes or gives an error. And the characters are all purple with black lines on them..
