Devhook v0.52.0100 released! |

After almost two months of no releases, Booster has come out today with a brand new release of Devhook, v0.52.0100. While there aren't any new exciting features in the latest release, the main difference is the ability to boot Firmware 3.11 from Firmware 1.50. While I've preferred to stay with Dark_AleX's OE releases, I know quite a few people who would rather stay at FW 1.50, probably for nostalgia sake. The changes are so minor that there aren't any new changes in the Devhook files itself, just a new folder called 311 in the dh folder.
Once downloaded, extract the contents of the MS_ROOT/dh folder into the already existing dh folder in the root of your Memory Stick. This means that if you don't have an older version of Devhook on your Memory Stick, the upgrade files are useless. For that reason, here's a link to the previous version.
Installing the previous version is as simple as following the instructions on the linked page. Then, just dump Firmware 3.11 using the dumper here, using the previous devhook's firmware dumping instructions as a reference. Once it is dumped, just move the dump to the proper folder inside the dh folder and extract this devhook's new files in there.

This is because with 3.10 OE you cannot change topmenu_plugin without a semi-brick.
And pimping XMB under DH is easy and without any brick dangerous!

You don't need DH to use the locationfree player in the OE firmwares; you can manually copy the locationfree files back onto your flash0 as long as you get rid of some files you don't use (to free up space), such as the japanese font file. Then, voila, you have locationfree in OE (the rhyme really adds a touch, don't you think?).

DevHook can suck my *****. Alex's open edition for PSP firmware has conquered all. OE firmware has a recovery mode in which DevHook does not as well a complete customization of the PSP.
So ***** all you *****ers who are using DevHook.
Just replace the files in the ms0:\dh\303\F0\vsh\resourc e folder.
I think this will work with every firmeware.

Ya this works, and is the fastest, safest, and easiest way to mess with topmenu/waves/colors/wallpapers/ anything before you flash them to your custom firmware (and in this case 3.10OE can't accept topmenu's). DH is the best, thanks booster!
thro i use dax custom,i have to say i still use devhook and respek booster for his work but his jump it up is not as high as it was b4 and i have to say some ppl r very ungrateful for his work.
Guys, I've noticed an issue with this new version of DevHook... the wallpaper doesn't save.
You can set your custom wallpaper, and all seems fine, but if you enter a game and then comeback to the XMB menu, or even if you exit DevHook and the come back to it, the wallpaper doesn't load, you just get the theme setting, no custom wallpaper.
Booster, take a look at this, and keep up the good work..!

In my opinion Booster is as good as Dark Alex. If not for their cleverness, would you be buying PSP or spending saving your pocket money to play one game a year?
So far it can play all the ISO games so what more can I ask. As for PS1 games, I can already play them on my PS2, so its not really that impt. Anyway its always a nice to have feature.

There's no need for me to get that OE thing, since I could care less about playing PSX ISOS's I've already played, nor do I care about "modding". As long as it runs homebrew I'm content. Now, if only cheatmaster would be updated, since its much better than cwcheat.

Go to "restore default settings" and see if that takes care of the problem.

Good Work Booster Dark Alex but how about a more usefull project that would wow the psp community sorting usb gps recivers to work with usb on psp and maybe porting tomtom with the ability to add IMI numbers from mobile phones to track were ever and when you want great antithieth device leave old mobilphone hidden in car allways on then you be able to rack your car if it was stolen or mobile phone (or for the paroniod people to track there partners) lol , if this roject is even remotely possible it be the ultimate psp homebrew and Darkalex and booster working together could surley pull this masterpiece off lookin forward to your comments good work boys but how about some real mind blowing stuff..

Flash0 is a very primitive format, it can easily get corrupted, no matter how good you are at manipulating it.

To people who don't know, our PSP community has grown over the past couple months (birthdays, Christmas, you name it). Anyways it turns out that the new people, not to be coarse about it, are pretty new to the hacking scene or are not even associated yet. So to all those people who think Sony isn't doing much by releasing firmware updates, your wrong they are, but not to stop us, which hypes the so called war between hackers and Sony. Sony hasn't really been putting in much of an effort to stop our community. They are trying to create features that will outdo all our homebrew. So to that extent we tend to look at that reason and outdo ourselves. If Sony were to accept homebrew, I believe it would be terrible for the community. Why? Well for one reason there would be no one left to compete with, but ourselves and I'm sure Sony would start regulate which homebrew is allowed and which are not. Then again there is a law that goes along with that as well about developing for your purchase/item whatever it may be (Clarify me if you know). They would certainly be more aware of us. As many would be following the scene, they would probably crack down at all their errors and be more in control of their system alternately than they are right now. ^to that point is something positive about such affect would be that they would develop more useful apps integrated into the XMB or even entirely new/diverse XMB.
There should be PERMANENT IP BANS for anyone claiming 1st/2nd/3rd post.. whatever..
Also make them have to register to stop the lameness.

I am using 3.10 OE-A'. Is it still allright to use devhook(there isn't really reason to use devhook,but still...)? When I emulate 3.11 with devhook, and after that turn off psp or try to escape devhook, my PSP won't turn on anymore, just black screen. It still goes to XMB through reovery menu. I just don't know if this is normal, has anyone else experienced the same problem?

yo i had same problem then i realized devhook is only enabled in fw 1.5 and any other supporting custom firmwares, dunt waste ur time on fw 3.11 if u live in canada ten go and downgrade it at some chinese mall or wait for a downgrader
(iam not sure if they downgrade fw 3.11 in stores still tho but tey do downgrade 3.03)
hi every1 im PSP_FrenZO and im making a devhook and a custom firmware hopefully ill get them out on my birthday MARCH 19th but im calling the firmware firmware FrenZOnatiON and the devhook Devhook FrenZO but i admire ur work booster not saying mine will b better but mine will have all firmwares from 1.0 to 3.10 and on this devhook u can run custom firmwares but u have to upload them to devhook so u can drop the 3.10 oe-c rto the devhook and run it and so on the custom firmware is ok probally just as good as dark alexs 3.10oe-a but had a FrenZO chip which i made which means u can run 1.5 emulators on a 3.10 which i think is wicked whe uploading the custom firmware theres a a 5 % of bricking im trying to improve it as we speak ive already got it on my psp pretty cool i dont kno if i will publish it. i might keep it to my self i dunno guys if i do publish it ull know from march 19th to end of march time. good luck guys hope to see some cool realeses in the upcoming future. btw im going to try and get goldeneye 007 on a n64 emulator using a emulator i made called FrenZOod so hope i release them guys.
