Dark_AleX now working on PSP 3.30 O-E??

WARNING: Too good to be true report coming right up. Now, as much as we ourselves are almost jumping for joy, we also can't help but remain a tiny, little bit skeptical about it all. After all, it's April Fool's and we all know that the internet gets flooded with jokes, gags and hoaxes at this time of the year. Anyway, we may all want to just take this with a grain of salt for now, until DAX himself lets everyone know that he is indeed working his magic again on FW 3.30, or until 3.30 O-E actually shows up. However, we ARE crossing our fingers... on with the report!

When we string together Dark_Alex, 3.30, and O-Es, we can only only imagine the smiles this will be putting on the reader's faces as they add these words up. Yup - PSPgen has just reported that DA has supposedly announced that 3.30 OE is coming soon.

It will be noted that this news comes in shortly after Team C D's release of a firmware decrypter for v3.30. DA is reportedly using their decrypter to get working on on this new release, although he's only begun. The good news is that DA has commented it won't take too long to complete the work - expect a new custom firmware to be up and about soon.

There are no other details at the moment, except that this new firmware is expected to be larger than 3.10 - so have the proper amount of space ready, and hope for the best. Stay posted in case we pick up further details on this breaking news

I have absolute faith in DA, but I have learned never to trust ANYTHING said on April Fools Day. I wouldn't be surprised if this is true, but I have mo hopes up just yet. Not until DA officially confirms this.

If it IS true I probably will not get it unless it has topmenu_plugin support, or some new way of making custom icons work. Unless of course a new game I get needs it.

Well it was about f$%^ing time to hear anything from DAX, he could've taken a laptop and his psp on his vacations and advance something instead of give up on his buggy 3.10 oe. He should've rapair top_menu plug ins mad time ago.

I also don't appreciate having to wait a thousand years from him on a oe update. He should follow Strmnmr's Dadealeus way and give us update EVERY SINGLE line of code so we are not left on the dark with a crappy buggy oe.

Now, I expect a fullymodable XMB 3.30 and FULL perfect support for psONE games, REAL no-umd option (some games still need the stupid UMD even with no-umd). Ok this is my wishlist.

- USB keyboard enable.

- Generic USB webcam

- Antiupdate included

- Option to put as many things as possible on to the stick. How about a menu with several firmware to pick from previously customize by the user? That'd be hawt!!

- Keyboard support

- Theme swapper outta the box.

- More choices to change/add/omit XMB icons at will, ilke putting a program directly on the XMB instead of on a submenu.

- I am also annoyed that games exit outside the memstick and I have to select the memstick again.

- .bin .cue support. I am confuse how to convert run this stuff :-(

- and is about time for linux to enter the scene. In in fact, it should be able to boot into linux and linux boot anything else. MM... I am afraid the linux enters the PSP $ony's XMB time will be over with.

Prolly I am forgeting a lotta stuff but the most important thing DON'T KEEP USERS IN THE DARK, DARK ALEC, AND LET US KNOW ABOUT THE PROGRESS AND ALSO THE TIMELINE THIS THING WILL BE FINISH!!!

listen guys, come now, if it wasnt for DAX and all the others that started this psp scene, we wouldnt even have what we have today, i 'member when i got my first psp, i was like, damn man, i cant wait for a modchip... and then i found out bout 1.50 firmware stuff, homebrew and all the jazz, and i screwed up my psp long before the OE's came out, ive now been thru 4 psp's thanks to homebrew scewups and not listening and doing things like the newbz here are doing, not being patient and not reading before modding, now i have a perfectly modded 3.03oe-c with totally modded xmb and all, and im happy with it, now if this 3.30 oe is real and being worked on, then all in due time, just have patience and wait, im happy with 3.10 oe and 3.03 oe, but i will stay with 3.03 untill fully working new versions come out, april fools or not, dax, good job man, ur recovery option in the oe's saved my psp yesterday when i screwed with my xmb files

All I said is true feeling and the mess I went through. First I had the shiny and latest 3.10 oe then I I semi-bricked because I wanted to have nice sleek icons and I was told I needed to use 3.03 oe. But then 3.10 oe is better for other things. WTF??! You know what I mean? And I think if you do something SOOO many people expect from you is plain wrong TO ABANDON a buggy 3.10 oe and take a MONTH LONG vacation!! I am pretty sure during that time DAX could've fixed that. Or at least he could've give the source so PSP community can fix things quickly while he enjoys his vacations.

I was expressing my frustrations about all this and just suggestion how to make the next-gen killer-firmware. And why not? How on earth can DAX find out what users want/need what works and what doesn't?

And to the retard who replied me with truly horrible English. Don't try to be the hero 'cause you ain't. Feel me, pathetic poser ignorant. As Silver-Tiger said, LEARN FKING ENGLISH!! That shyet is mad annoying.

Firstable there's nothing wrong to PROPOSE a whishlist. Don't we all want a powerful firmware? OE already has some options in recovery, so I am not crazy or anthing, you stupit gehtto shiyt. Let me count the ways:

- Enable NO-UMD

- Disable/Enable Sony logo.

- etc

So what's wrong in proposing the anti-update? Or the keyboard?

And also the USB keyboard and peripherals should've been cracked way time ago. It can't be THAT difficult. Have you seen USB drivers for linux? They are like three lines for real. I was saying that instead of wasting time with IR the USB could've been cracked by now.

By Firmware into the stick I meant DAX firmware but put as many stuff on the stick as possible. You know like gameboot isn't necessarily needed in FLASH RAM but can be used off the stick. So how about having several folders with different themes each and be able to boot into anyone that you want by specifying in the Recovery menu? Or booting into a menu that asks what you wanna do?

This is all to enhance the functionality of the PSP and users experience.

The best part that shows your utter ignorance is in the comment on Linux. Retard I wasn't talking about emulating Linux I was talking about Linux taking over the PSP and Linux emulate PSP firmware at will.

Besides think about this. Many of the programs that are made for PSP are like completing the missing parts of $ony cripple firmware trying to make it into an OS: filebrowser, radio, streming, ssh, etc??? RINGS A FKING BELL?

Linux got all this outta the box and wouldn't have to be crammed into ONE single icon like now in the memstick. You'd be able to place as many icons as you want, add custom icons, etc. In short only Linux will unleash the true power of the PSP. So why bother with a firmware that will never be truly open and needs ugly hacks in order to properly function instead of spending time in putting linux into it?

That's why the DS is so far ahead.

Now if you are a m$$ shytti fanboy without prior linux experience I don't expect you to get any of this, 'cause you are in the m$$ dark ages, retard.

To end this, fake hero, I'VE GOT IDEAS, you ain't got none 'cuase you've got a negative ghetto ignorant mentality. I dont think psp's usb can be used for a keyboard like that... psp's usb was made for the interaction between a computer and a psp (just storage interactions which arent even great)... if it was easy to write a code for psp's usb to be used as a 3rd party device for kybrd plugin and camera functions, it wouldve been dun by now... ive tried learning lua to make my own kybrd code for psp and it just doesnt work... so juss to clarify things it woulve been done if it was easy.

I would like to say, firstly, thanks for the little sparkle of hope that you guys (esp. DAX) have given me. When I bought my PSP, I thought it would run homebrew out of the box....yeah right... It came with firmware 2.71 and I (very stupidly) updated it to 3.30 in hopes that this would make homebrew run.....I was just about to give up when I realized that with the release of 3.40 and DAX's 3.40 OE that a 3.30 downgrade should be around the corner. I tried to update the 3.30 to 3.40 OE but to no avail. So.....Does anyone know a ballpark estimate of when to expect a downgrade for FW 3.30? Thanks to everyone here who tries....espically Dark AleX. You guys encourage me to actually keep my PSP.
