Dark AleX's new CFW 5.00 M33-4 released for PSP (Sackboy included) |
Ó

Badda-bing-badda-boom! It was announced yesterday that the new M33-4 custom firmware would be "released in a few days," and some people were expecting it to hit during the weekend. Well, here's a toast to a speedy release: CFW 5.00 M33-4 for the PSP is here!
Dark AleX even has a new banner on his site. DAX Sackboy like whoa!
Now, here's the changelog:
- Speed selected for umd/iso was not properly locked in some new games that used scePower_EBD177D6 instead of scePowerSetClockFrequency to change speed.
- UMD/ISO speed settings now apply to PSN games too.
- Fixed libupdown.prx connecting to dark-alex.org instead of sony when npsignin_plugin checks for a new version and m33 update is enabled.
- Iso file descriptor was not closed in driver deletion
- Added a shutdown command to vshmenu.

thanks DAX, and nice banner
Love it.
It's been a great time for Playstation products this holiday season. This has to be the icing on the cake. Great work DAX!
The "SHUTDOWN PSP" and "REBOOT PSP" features oughta save my power switch XD
me too since my switch wont even full powerdown my psp, it only puts it into sleep mode.
"The update will come with bug fixes, and will sport new features as well." 5 changes 4 of them are bug fixes. So the "features" "are" the shutdown command? Not as spectacular as I tought but, well...
after i installed m33-4, my VSHmenu won't work. any thoughts?
"Network Update has found a later version. To download, insert a Memory Stick with at least 1 MB free space and press the X button" Hahaha this is the first time using the Network Update. It actually works :D Thanks DA!
Disable all of your plugins and try them one by one. It fixed the problem here.
You *are* holding it down for the several seconds normally required to do the full powerdown, right?
do you want to know what a good idea would have been, for if sony were smart they would have put the option to turn on or off the wifi in the psp through the settings, coz the amount of people i hear breaking the wifi button is unreal. it would save a lot of people hassle in getting that repaired.
Hows about an option to put the PSP into sleep mode from the VSHmenu?
I must of have a bad battery or i not playing it as much to hold charge. gotta wait again until it's charge! lol
HAI GAIS ITS ME DAX LOOOOOOOOOLZZZZ U LEIK MEH FRMWAREZZ?ZZZ!!!!11ONE111!
If you had used better grammar and didn't have the tone of well...an idiot, I may have halved believed you. :p
Lol who the hell is this guy trying to fool?!
MELTY U FOOL U R A FAIL SPAMMER STFU AND GTFO!!!
.....
you know Your a idiot right?
Mine's always worked. I've updated my CFW three or four times doing a network update. However, I can't seem to update it now. It seems to be down...
Master Chief?
I'm also grateful for the shutdown feature, my power switch is in bad shape. The little protruding dots and arrow have snapped off and the switch is now completely smooth. It's a little difficult using it.
This saves me too! My switch is a little broken but still works. Just don't want to break it even more.
You're an idiot *sigh*
that banner is not new.. its been there forever now..
options to reset and power off the psp are good ideas cause they save time. to put the psp in sleep mode, you just pudh the switch up and release real quick. it would take more time to open the vsh menu and hit sleep then it would to just do it normally.
such fail. this isn't anonymous!
Not a fail idea. If you want to prolong the life of your switch then it's good. Then you'd only have to use your switch to turn on your psp thus barely ever using the switch.
Better than nothing I guess!
Thats what I was thinking...
of course haha
wow i can say fail and sound cool If i say epic fail i sound even cooler get a *****in life
take your own advice...
Melty. Wooow, I haven't laughed on here in a while, but you thinking that you're anonymous is hilarious. I had to print screen that one.
A plugin such as the Game Categories Plugin might've caused it since it adds it's own options to the VSH Menu.
Dark_Alex has done it again or should I say Sack_Alex?
exactly... He has been using this banner since he release of LittleBigPlanet.
Nice keep em commin
How the heck are you guys breaking those switches? I'm still on a launch psp and everythink works like a charm.
because they got knocked around in backpacks, and dropped and stuff like that.
Well it's been a while ever since I sold my old fat psp around 2 years ago so now I just got a new slim 2001 psp with firmware 4.01... so my question is what do I need to do to run ISOs applications? Cuz I already downloaded a bunch of ISOs. Do I need to rund Pandora battery?
Yes you need pandora battery and magic memory stick.
I charge my batteries always off. Never plug it in half way. Also use it all up before you charge it and have another ready to go.
well I guess Im gonna have to ask a friend if he can borrow me his battery. Anyways is this the only way of making my psp run ISOs?
CFW is what allows us to virtually do anything and run ISOs as well.
Does this mean we could possibly see a CFW for the PS3? that would be awesome!
So once Im able to run ISOs can I easily upgrade to another CFW without using the battery??
some English classes.
weird question though
well I took my PSP-2001 FW4.01 with a guy who has a pandora battery and told me that for rightnow it's impossible to flash my firmware. So is this true?? or is it possible?? Please tell me cuz if not Im gonna have to return the PSP and get my refund!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
still possible, anyone correct me if im wrong, u can flash any firmware as long as its not psp-3000 ryt?
im running cfw 4.01 m33 on psp phat, is it really worth upgrading to 5.0?
I didnt know about the release lol. I've been out too much, been distracted that I havent had time to keep track of PSP things lol. But I'm back tho. and ready to Update that PSP FATTY and that PSP Skinny (Slim) lol. Thanks DAX, Eres el Rey de PSP!
