only 3 games show up on my psp when i'm in the game section of my psp, even though i put 6 games in the ISO folder. I dont know if it's b/c i'm using a 4GB Scandisk stick while running SE-B''...well i been having the same problem with all versions of SE-B. Pspbrew ''doesn't recognise'' fix

A guy on the Psp Mirc chan called ''Miktar'' told me this fix that might work for you. Just make sure that your Psp Memory Stick has a file on it called ''MEMSTICK.IND''. If it does not have one create an empty text file and name it this. Pspbrew will not work without this file. By the way, if you set your homebrew folder Game as 1.5 Kernel, you don't need anything else and can run everything apart from 2.71 specific homebrew.

Yesterday i had 1.5. Now im using this. What I did: 1. Downloaded SE-B New User Build from http://pspupdates.qj.net/2-71-SE-B-Installers/pg/49/aid/70730 2. Plugged my PSP into my computer and ran the program I downloaded in step 1. The install seemed to get stuck at 63%. I plugged my PSP into the charger and it resumed. 3. The installer put a new program into my PSP. I ran that and it installed SE-B. 4. I deleted unecessary files (optional). 5. Downloaded this update that you can find right here on this page. 6. Opened it up and copied the "PSP" folder into my PSP, replacing the original. 7. Turned off (not sleep) my PSP and turned it back on while holding the R trigger. This lets you change some options (like being able to run ISOs without a UMD in your PSP), but this step is optional. 8. Enjoyed my VCS UMD and all the other things SE-B 3 offers!

I cant seem to run any of my homebrew on this modified firmware! 1.5 users, i advise that u stay with your 1.5 etc. I hope to god there is a downgrader for this in the future so i can play my atari games using the atari emulator for the PSP. Fine, the good thing about this is the ISO loader and devhook etc. But i really would like to see my old snes\atari\nes\megadrive working again. So let me ask once more IS THERE A DOWNGRADER AT ALL! download firmware 2.71 from the dl section in this website. next make a folder called update and place it in: ms0:/psp/game/(here) finally go to the game folder and you will see the update to 2.71 folder and select and run it.

do a complete power off on the psp and then power it back on and hold the R trigger, you will get to the recovery menu. from there go to the no UMD option and you are on your way.

yes you can downgrade. all you have to do is put the 1.5 eboot in a folder called recovery located at /psp/game/recovery/(put eboot of 1.5 here) of your psp and then hard reset psp and hold the R trigger and enter the recovery menu and select the run program at /psp/game/recovery/eboot.pbp

you need to place the file in a folder called GAME150 located in psp/game150 also for the games to work you need to place them in a folder of there own for example the snes emulator. location psp/GAME150/snes/ ((program and folders) you can also include the ROM folder here too.) and regarding downgrading yes you can downgrade it is very easy. yes you can downgrade. all you have to do is put the 1.5 eboot in a folder called recovery located at /psp/game/recovery/(put eboot of 1.5 here) of your psp and then hard reset psp and hold the R trigger and enter the recovery menu and select the run program at /psp/game/recovery/eboot.pbp

Setting corrupted

I just followed frugis instructions and after installing the new user build. i flashed it, it reboted to a screen that said setting were corrupt and now I can go into the menu, what happened.

All the information for downgrading back to 1.5 from 2.71 SE-B is included in the readme of the 2.71 SE-B .rar archive. You'll need the official sony 1.5 update eboot file as well. Most homebrew written for 1.5 runs on SE-B - however it needs to be placed in a GAME150 dir (placed in the PSP dir) (or alternatively you can configure SE-B to use the normal GAME dir for 1.5 homebrew using the recovery console - press R shoulder button on boot). I see the advantage of SE-B as all the benefits of devhook without all the devhook files cluttering my memory stick. Plus the fact the browser runs faster (since its loading from the flash rather than the memory stick). I don't want any 'stars' just rtm next time... ji

problem

everytime i exit devhook after playing vcs iso at 333 mhz and then turn devhook back on later to play the game, it freezes. then it says i have 2 gbs free space on my memstick, but thats not possible. i plug my psp in the usb and check to see if the iso deleted itself, but its still there. like a dummy file. it sucks because everytime that happens i have to go into fastloader and rip it again. i have 1.5 anyone know why this is happening?

Hey guys, Im not exactly a noob or anything... I have everything working on this SE version except I cant get the isos to load. I put it on the memory stick in the iso folder thats on the root of the stick and I cant get it to load. My homebrew works fine as well as my games (D_A frickin ROCKS!) but Im confused about the isos as Ive never really ran one before. Can anyone help? Maybe a little step by step guide or something? Id really appreciate it. Thanks everyone.

Its been tried and failed. people tried to put in a Ipod hard drive and it failed to work properly. plus there is no room for it. inside the psp.

My homebres from memory sticks wont run after the upgrade

The new version is great - (all my commercial UMD's work though). But I am having problems accessing the memory stick games after upgrade: I had about dozen Homebrew games - but NONE of them work since I upgraded to 2.71 SE B. I tried everything the documentation suggested - e.g. having the game in GAME150 / GAME271 / GAME folder within /PSP - but none of the combination work - they all result in the PSP searching the memory stick (light comes on) and after 4 seconds rebooting itself after I click on the memory stick! Can you reccomed a Homebrew that really works that I can download - so I can make sure that it is not my set up that is causing the problem [so far tried with Doom / Quake / Supermario / Dungens and Pokemon Keeper - but they all did the same thing.

Fantastic new FW revision. Why is everyone scared of bricking there PSP's? Seriously, it comes down to this unless you have a mod chip there is a likelihood of a brick WHENEVER you flash anything to flash0 however: 1. do not have a UMD in the drive 2. Have a full battery and keep the charger plugged in whilst flashing. Secondly I have had a PSP for 3 weeks and in this amount of time i have been able to find out all the info i needed to mod my psp. what i don't seem to get is these people that keep asking for a new version of the FW to be hacked. what they think theres no demand for it? of course there is and people just need to wait and not complain (or do it themselves if its that easy)

I've been using the firmwares since Alex (the ownage master) brought out B, it's been a welcome change to 1.5 (even though 1.5 was the best for sooo long) and the features work amazing (unless you have kxploited stuff, then u'll get some corrupted data boxes). The best option he has so far is the No-UMD option, it works amazingly with EVERYTHING, and i've been running ISOs like GTA: VCS and NFS: Carbon on it perfectly!!! Try out the overclocking vsh module too, it's real handy. =D

Hrm... Today I updated from SE-B to SE-B' and then SE-B", and most things are working great for my PSP. Only thing is, whereas Valkyrie Profile was working fine before, now when I get into a battle in it, the PSP freezes for about 20 seconds before crashing. I have this problem once. This could be the memory stick. When it happens to me, also my homebrews show up as corrupted data. You can try this: go to the PSP/SYSTEM folder and delete de isocache.bin (this file is a index of your files on ISO foder) then check again

I have been having problems playing games on this firmware. The (legal) isos I have tend to just freeze up at certain times. Just stops until a hard shutdown. These isos ran fine with 1.5 fw devhooked. any ideas?

a while ago my friend got my ver 2.71 psp and i think downgraded to 1.50? he installed devhook 0.46 on it it boots up to 1.50 and i can go to 2.71 (xmb?) when i click on the game icon. it has a cpu overclocker i can run almost all homebrew appl and emulator roms>>>>>>> any way i was wondering if i should keep this program or should i swap and get this program?. if so install question =do i just have to remove all the devhook folders and install these ones or is there something else?

hello, i post a comment a day ago about the arrow key in the web browser or photo viewer going down. do i have to reinstall se-b to fix this or is there a fix that can take care of this? cause this custom firmware is useless unless if theres a way to fix it. any help would be appreciated

HELP!!!!

I just installed the SE-B and for some reason every time i try to access the memory stick, my psp freezes and shuts off, thus i cannot even see the icons of the homebrew i have on my psp in the GAME directory.... can someone PLEASE help me, i cannot access the memory stick and cannot load anything..... HELP!!!!

does 1.5 homebrew work on 2.71 SE(what ever you call it). will upgrade(want2use browser) but I want to make sure its possible.

I'm running 1.5 firmware, and what i want is: a firmware that runs all homebrew from firmware:(1.0>1.5>2.0) MUST have web browser. I have a 2Gb memstick(Sandisk) with the following apps: gpSP v0.8 1.0 iR Shell v2.1 NGEPSP 0.2.2 Snes9xTYL 0.4.2 Triple TraidPSP PSPersonalize Xflash v14 --------------------- I want all apps above to work on the firmware. Valkyrie Profile a no go

I installed Dark Alex's 2.71 SE-B and the first time i could not load anything off my memory stick, BUT, i could have gotten past the first battle in Valkyrie Profile (VP) (the one with Angrim). Then i put the REV3 eboot into a boot folder in PSP/GAME and ran that file from the Recovery boot up in SE-B. This solved my memory card reading problem, HOWEVER, now every time i get into a battle in VP, the battle music starts, then the screen stays black and eventually my psp shuts off..... Can someone please help me fix this if there is indeed a way.

Valkyrie Profile does NOT WORK!!!

I just recently updated myself to 2.71 SE-B with REV 3 and for some reason, VP frezzes when i get into a battle. I really like Dark Alex's custom Firmware so a big thanks to you, BUT PLEASE find a way to resolve this issue with VP as the game is like one of the best on the market right now, and it would be greatly appreciated if i could play it once more... P.S. my friend also did the same thing and his VP does not work either.

2.71 SE-B version

Question for all of you. Is it actually somehow possible to run the 2.71 SE-B firmware emulated through devhook? In other words, if I put all the 2.71 SE-B files into the 2.71 directory of devhook, could devhook emulate the firmware? I would like to run my GTA VCS without patching my real PSP. If not, can one successfully remove the 2.71 SE-B firmware from the PSP at any given time? Am am waiting for the firmware 3.0 from Sony which most likely will include features such as cam and GPS functions and I don't want to run into the problem of not being able to update to any real FW. I was thinking about Sony and securing all their FW's. What would happen if Sony checks the memory and finds out that the current running firmware is not matching with the checksum and therefore will refuse to update due to unknown modifikations. I really would prefer to run the great firmware emulated rather than patching my real PSP. Is there any way and if so, how??? The Help you Need

Ok for the person who said they installed SE-B and cannot load off memory stick here's what you do: 1) get the Rev3 file off this site (it is the 3rd revision of SE-B) and unzip it. 2) make a folder in the PSP/GAME directory called BOOT so..... PSP/GAME/BOOT, stick the eboot file you got from REV3 into the newly created BOOT folder. 3) hard poweroff your psp and turn it back on WHILE HOLDING THE "R" BUTTON, in that screen go to configuration and look for the option autoload Eboot from PSP/GAME/BOOT or something like that and ENABLE it.... exit, and before your psp goes to desktop it will autoload the BOOT folder and upgrade the 2.71 SE-B version on your psp and now you will be able to access your memory stick the second question... if you wanna go back to 1.5 FW without 2.71 SE-B just stick the recovery folder packed in the 2.71 SE-B zip file you downloaded and stick in the 1.50 original Firmware (you probably also downloaded) except before putting it in the recovery folder with the other eboot RENAME the 1.50 FW file to UPDATE.PBP. Once both files are in the recovery folder stick it in the PSP/GAME.... so PSP/GAME/RECOVERY (with 2 eboots 1 being the FW1.5/UPDATE.PBP and the other being the Eboot in the recovery folder) now hard poweroff the psp, turn it back on HOLDING THE "R" BUTTON and select the option that says something like load PSP RECOVERY to 1.50 or something like that and let it do it's thing... before you know it you'll be back to 1.50

Loved this when I had a PSP 2.71 in my hands. The analog stick was broken so got my 2.8 back, same day eLoader comes out, so it all worked out:).

What are these for?

Why does "B-3" have a dh (devhook) folder at the root but not the Devhook folders in the game dir like the old 1.5 fashion? Is Devhook even really needed? If so for what? Also can someone explain to me the point of the GAME folder and the GAME150 folder? I know that's where you're supposed to put the HB apps and such ... but why the two different folders?? Thanks for any useful input.

ok, i have three 4gig cards. i was wondering once i flash to 2.71 se-b, how do i have to have my cards set up. do i need to have certian programs in certian files or is it still the same setup as when i ran devhook .46

Thanks for the explain, but tried this and still can't see games off the mem stick. PIcs and music is OK. System info shows me at B" so your suggestion worked in that regard. Anyone else have a suggestion?

Disappearing ISO's

Gitaroo Man won't show up!!! It's weird, its just not there. I tried deleting the ISOcache file but nothings changed. Anyone find anything else that works?

this happens to me and I already fix it ! before, when I play NFS Carbon in few second the game freeze and we need to start again and again. Actually we need to change something in the devhook setting ! I forgot what was that; but, I think you need to change the firmwire version (in the devhook not on the psp!) to 1.5 or 2.71 (flash) [I don't remember but when I check my psp firmwire in system info the firmwire show me 2.71 SE-A (this should be 2.71 SE-B2 or 2.71 SE-B2) ehehehe] and make the devhook start without restart the psp, I think. sorry, my bad english ! I still waiting for Firmwire 3.00 SE-B cameout because I saw my friend psp, the sony psp add many new stuff like we can use camera and take video !

can't run any homebrew from GAME!

I have 2.71 SE B'' and now everytime I go to run something from the GAME folder my PSP just freezes and shuts off. It worked fine with 2.71 SE A ..but now it doesn't...any ideas? :p

in rcovery mode, what is the correct configuration? advanced- plain modules in UMD/ISO--- disabled or enabled? execute boot.bin in UMD/ISO ------------ disabled or enabled? i have them both disabled? im tryng to solve my problem with mamory card, and i dont see any solutions.. can anybody help me?
