Heads up to the PSP homebrew community! Team GENyUS has announced that Custom Firmware 5.50GEN-C will be released real soon.

So what's new with the latest version of 5.50GEN you might asked? Well according to the translated post from PSPGen, 5.50GEN-C will allow users to run games that require firmware 5.55 and 6.00 instantly without the need to patch the game.

So stay tuned guys, Custom Firmware 5.50GEN-C will be released this weekend.

Is it really that hard to decrypt a game ?? Come on... It took me around 10 minutes the first time to do it (5 the next after that).

Honestly now. It takes longer to save the ISO rather than reading the steps you need to take. Oh, and by the way, you can also download them already patched (if you know "places"). That is if you actually own the games, else it's considered Piracy.

I'm not that hyped to see this news. Sorry but I was hoping there would be a 6.xx Firmware coming down the pipeline. Playing games isn't the issue anymore, I'd have rather waited for a Firmware that also introduces any of the new features or at least lets me browse the PSN Store.

In the realm of playing games, I'm okay with patching them. It's the other stuff I'm getting bummed about now.

Am I the only one that uses their PSP for music? I've been waiting for custom firmware that at least is patched to run SenseMe. I know its not that great of a feature, but for music users its a feature we wish to have.

i want the sense me thing on my psp im not a big music user but i still use it as a music player myself.

i wish they would add more interesting and fun apps to the psp like if alot of people work together to improve the n64 emulators. lol sorry off topic

The site i download from already pre patches games so this means nothing to me, and honestly M33 fw does everything i need and i never bricked a Psp yet, so really i'll just stick to what i know untill GEN does a Cfw i really need.

you know..... ive been with m33 since 5.00 and i recently found out that i could switch between them "kudos to hellcat recovery" so i tried GEN v B-2 the only issue i see is a huge slow down of the memory stick...... but some one told me to back up my 16GB to the computer, then format it using the PC then format using the psp and that worked........and sometimes the game folder freezes..... i think it has something to do with the "CXMB" and "game catagories" plugins

Because Gen is 5.55. I never tried decrypter on 5.50 M33 does it work? Cause if it doesn't your just being dumb for staying on it when you can't play new backups. Yeah and it does seem like GEN is having a hard time making a 6.00 GEN since they did say they were going to make one and then this comes out.

I had 5.55 in my head cause of it getting stuck cause all these new games need it and though M33 was on 5.50 and GEN was on 5.55 -.- So let me rephrase that question, does the games work after patched on 5.00M33?

think that DA may have been bought off by sony to not make another cfw? i mean, the homebrew scene relied heavily on DA for cfw, for most of us it was like its either OFW or m33.

i'm sure it is alright but i'm not one for swapping just for the sake of a few extra features, i mean i don't bother with Blu-Ray because Dvd does enough, but when i find a Blu-Ray recorder in my price range i'll be more than happy to get it, if GEN offers a similar level of upgrade i'll have no problem switching there as well.

CFW isn't made for ISO loading but for homebrew. ISO loading is put in because unless they put it in no one would want it. You lot will undoutably moan and cry without ISO loading.

BTW GEN is a stable firmware. Meaning it is the same as M33 releases.

That the Game Decrypter hass been updated 3 times. Thats why it says Game Decrypter V3. The first one only supported 5.50GEN the next versions increased support to more firmwares.

First off, thank you for reading what I had to say and thank you for insulting me. I'm not trying to "change" people or anything. I only suggested you can download already patched games and you seem to have misunderstood my take on piracy. By all means, pirate away. Those "places" I was referring to were torrent trackers and p2p networks.

Oh, and I think they kinda do give a **** about piracy.

Those guys at GEN sure work hard for free - Thanks to them (and a few others) I can play every game I've tried on 500m33 and 550GENb - when this is released I'm updating straight away and saving it with Nandmanager! looking forward to it!

have you actually read the god damn changelog. Link to v3 in article here is an excerpt for you in cause you can't read that much.

Compatibility with 5.03GEn is now complete (or not so far). Thanxs to Revenge-crew for their patch on my v2 that i use for V3)

so what makes you think that 5.50GENC will be any different.

PSP-3000 can only run 5.03 based CFW because its the firmware you need for the exploit to allow CFW.

i installed LEDA on my slim 5.50GEN, and even though it flashed the files, i'm not sure it did anything.

1.50 pandora maker didnt work, and that worked with LEDA in 5.00m33

apparently they are updating 5.03GEN for the PSP-3000 so people running chickHEN based CFW can also run 5.55 and 6.00 games without decrypting.

Hey Guys, any advice?
I have a PSP-2006 and I'm running on chichHEN. I decided to upgrade one day and got GEN-C. When I go home, I plugged my psp to my pc to back the files up. Suddenly all my files disappeared! I had to reformat my whole psp and the mmc and place chickHEN once again. chickHEN is running fine but for some strange reason whenever I try to run GEN-C or any of the other GENS, my PSP doesn't seem to let it patch up. I'm really not a techie guy and familiar with all the specs and all I really want is to be able to play the newer games which run on 5.55 and above.
btw,I've tried it like in thrice already but still no luck. Any advice anyone???
