Anti Update for the PSP Slim - a plugin to hide that UMD update icon |
Ó
Homebrew mainstay Coolj dropped by our forums to release Anti Update for the PSP Slim & Lite. This prx plugin allows you to hide the UMD update icon. Which is cool for those guys with fidgety fingers that might accidentally push buttons away without intending to update their PSP firmware. Oh, the hassle.
Coolj gives credit to Team tOc and _HellDashX_. This plugin from Coolj actually comes from the original code from Team tOc, which _HellDashX_ reverse engineered. For those asking, Coolj says that _HellDashX_'s reversed source isn't made available to the public. Now, Coolj's made it available to work on the Slim.

been waiting for this.
I reacted too quickly, and put this on my fat PSP. Obviously, it didn't work. Then I read the Slim part... Doh! Ah well, all is back to normal now... :)
the original version (works on the phat) was linked above. you can try that. ^_^ cheers! http://pspupdates.qj.net/AntiUpdate-v1-0/pg/49/aid/86306
IGHT!!! This is great!! Cuz i used to worry then i let my sisters kid play my slim and when random friends ask to see it!!! K++++
Yeah, i've been wanting something like this for a long time. By the way, this guy might start losing business due to this update, which is not a bad thing. http://stores.ebay.com/PSP-Unbricker if you decide to buy from that guy, tell him "resilient1" sent you!
Iam, Your not fooling anybody so give up on trying to ripoff noobs. Even their smarter than that, go figure. But I digress... ***** O F F ! ! !
Wouldn't it be much easier if the CFW denied OFW updates, if you wanted it to?
I believe in DaX's(/M33) FW's it's not possible to update to an official FW, but the update icon still sucks big time.. I wish I could hide it in my PSP phat.
that's a good point, but what if you wanted to upgrade for some reason? Besides, I think it'd be difficult for the custom firmwares to apprehend an update: it'd be hard for it to know which eboots are updates, and which aren't. At least in my noobish opinion, anyway.
