Watch: Persona 2's demon negotiation trailer

Big things are coming for the Persona franchise. The fifth major entry is already being worked on, and Persona 4 has recently been confirmed to be headed for Son's PS Vita handheld. Before those things come to pass, however, fans of the Atlus series will finally get the only Persona title that wasn't released outside Japan.

As a build up for this month's release of Persona 2: Innocent Sin, Atlus has released a new video showing off the game's demon negotiation and summoning mechanic. Just like other Persona games, demons in Innocent Sin aren't just there for players to defeat. They can also be coerced or convinced into avoiding conflict or even helping players out by giving them items or cards.

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2: Innocent Sin for the PSP is currently scheduled to release in North America on September 20. As is pretty much the norm for a lot of Atlus' recent releases, each and every launch copy of Innocent Sin will be a special boxed release with a bonus 10-track music CD featuring a mix of songs from the game's soundtrack. Call me cheap, but thank god for special freebies that don't require you to pay extra.
