Ragnarok PSP will have one hefty demo |

Demos are usually just short snippets of a game's entire experience, released so that gamers can try to gauge their level of interest in a particular game. GungHo Online Entertainment seems to be going the extra mile for the PSP strategy title, Ragnarok Hikari to Yami no Koujo, however. Yes, its demo is still just a fraction of what the full game offers, but it's one hefty fraction.
Gaming news blog Andriasang reports that the handheld title's demo, titled "The First Ending", will let gamers play one of the game's scenarios through to completion. Once they've completed the demo's scenario, players will then be able to transfer their data and character stats to the full game.
A final release date has yet to be announced for the demo, but Weekly Famitsu readers will be getting it in advance through the mag's September 22 issue. The full game will be released in Japan on October 27.
Ragnarok: Hikari no Yami to Koujo will be an entirely original entry with only tenuous ties to the storyline that runs through the original MMO. The game will be a strategy RPG employing the genre's standard isometric view.
Another handheld Ragnarok game, Ragnarok Violet, is now available for iOS.
