New Yakuza studio, games announced |

Sega has announced big things in the popular Yakuza franchise. First off, series mastermind Toshihiro Nagoshi is now the head of the new Yakuaz Studio. That's just the studio's English name, by the way. In Japan, it goes by Ryu ga Gotoku Studio after the series' Japanese name.
The studio's debut title will be a sequel to the PSP spinoff, Yakuza: Black Panther, called Kurohyou 2 Ryu ga Gotoku. The basic gameplay systems of the original will be retained, with gamers getting their first taste of it during Tokyo Game Show 2011. The game's release has been set for Spring 2012. Yakuza: Black Panther has yet to be localized, so chances are this one probably won't be either.
The numbered Yakuza games, however, have all successfully made it to the west, and so fans will likely be excited that development has already started on Yakuza 5. The game seems to still be in the preliminary stages, however, so Sega didn't have any additional details to share. Toshihiro Nagoshi has earlier hinted that he wants a revamp of the older games' mechanics.
