Fate/Extra release date, limited edition variant announced

Aksys Games has announced a rather ubiquitous date for Fate/Extra's North American release: November 11, 2011. Along with the release date, the publisher has also revealed a limited edition variant for Imagepooch and Type-Moon's upcoming fighter.

The North American limited edition will include some of the same sought-after items bundled with the Japanese version such as the special 15-page Fate Visual Works art book and the 11-song limited soundtrack. The limited edition will set you back US$ 39.99. The vanilla edition will have a price tag of US$ 29.99 for the retail version and US$ 24.99 for the downloadable version.

Fate/Extra is a new scenario in Type-Moon's popular Fate/Stay Night universe. The game will feature a new chast of characters, an easy to understand battle system, and "a grand story of destruction, absolution, and deep insight into what it truly means to be human." Pretty deep stuff right there.

It's good to see developers and publishers still keeping the PSP alive with upcoming releases even with the PS Vita's impending launch. After Fate/Extra, Aksys has Idea Factory's girls romance title for the PSP, Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom, set for a 2012 release.
