Aksys bringing Fate/Extra, Hakuoki to North America

Video game publisher Aksys Games is keeping the light alive for PSP owners. The studio has been revealed to be bringing a pair of new games from Japan over to North America.

One of these is Hakuoki: Demon Of The Fleeting Blossom, a girls' romance game by Idea Factory. Hakuoki features Chizuru Yukimura, a young woman in search of her father in the strange town of Hakuoki. Just like all romance games, players get to choose which character the protagonist ends up with. In this case, the character pool consists of the Shinsengumi.

Aksys is also localizing the Type Moon and Imagepooch RPG Fate/Extra. Same as Hakuoki, Fate/Extra will have branching storylines and multiple endings. Even your choice of character gender at the start of the game will affect how the various scenarios play out.

Fate/Extra will be hitting PSPs first. It'll be available at retail and through PSN later this year. Hakuoki: Demon Of The Fleeting Blossom, on the other hand, is currently scheduled for both retail and PSN in the first quarter of 2012. The handheld's successor is slated for launch later this year.
