I think it's fake. The person has changed (for example in HEX editor) installer from Dark_Alex so that instead of 3.10 OE-A showed 3.30 OE-A and instead of 3.10 showed 3.30. Then, simple with VersionChanger has changed number of firmware on 3.30 OE-A. There still it became visible that the screen completely black. IMHO.

If you were to hex edit the installer it would throw back a message saying the file was not correct, remember Dark_Alex uses MD5 Checksum to verify everything is correct before install... I really can't see that being the case... However I do think the video is FAKE, but hey let's hope I'm wrong!!!

flash1 problems

Has anyone had flash1 problems where the directory flash1:/vsh/theme/ contains two files that cannot be deleted or copied so I cant see what they are. Their names are ????.??? and ?categor.y_v. It makes it so anytime a wallpaper is set, it corrupts flash1:/ on next reboot and gives you the BSOD. (This is happening on 2.80 original mobo) Also, running restore default settings/pressing circle on the BSOD will freeze your PSP. Has anyone had any of the symptoms or does anyone have a clue to what they are!!!??? I need help!

I had the flash1 corruption problem but slightly diff from yours. I did get BSOD and froze after pressing O. You may want 2 use Flash1 Formatter. Try google it :) Extract it and pur the eboot folder in GAME folder or GAME150. It's a Recovery folder and you can only run it from recovery menu. THis 1 will reformat your flash1. I hope it will restore it.

I've watched the video several times. Now i want this to be as real as anyone else...but im wondering... If you watch the beginning vs the end...the camera focus manages to be alot better at the end (not that you cant see the date or time on the PSP at the very beginning, but they're clearly focused at the end. Also, after the cut the PSP is on some sort of charging holder with a blue light, not so in the first half. However, on the plus side, you can notice that the surface its sitting on is the same, along with the lighting. I think the video is real...i'm just not sure the reason for the cut. I hope this is real!

This news could be real and I sure hope it is, but that video is just total BS. He just did so much wrong in that video that he must've known people would think it was fake from the start. First of all he should've shown what FW he was on before the update, second of all there should have been no cuts whatsoever (even if they had to change something with the flash, that cut just did the video in) and last but not least he should've shown some of the new features of 3.30 after the update. This along with the fact that the wallpaper was applied when he turned the system back on (which he could've changed back during that cut but still) just makes this one huge screw job of a video that ultimately comes out completely useless to anyone. Here's hoping the FW is coming out soon though and kudos to everyone that was involved in making it happen, you guys make it worth having a PSP.

you still cant see it? its real sombody said "its fake cuz the settings are restored such as font and backgrounds" well check the begginning of the video and the ending. look the font is different. also in the ending, you first see a pink background with waves, then the pspgen background loads, it means that the autor set the background during the cut. and if you look carefully at the very begginning, at the left of the 3.30 OE-A eboot you can see a custom icon. then when the new CF is installed, the icons are normal. Are you still going to claim its fake? [maybe the cut was for the autor to put his background (pspgen one) to show what the site is and to save us time]

I just got a psp and it has the 3.3 version on it. I am wondering what can I do to get free games and homebrew stuff? I am confused about what this OE 3.3 actually is and what I would need to do to get things up and running. And does anybody else have serious problems browsing the internet with their PSP. Mine always says, "content cannot be dispayed" and "not enough memory". I have went in and changed the cache settings, deleted cookies, disabled flash, scripting and photos but it never seems to run right. Can anybody help this newbie? Thanks`

you need to downgrade your psp. Currently the only way for 3.30 is to put your psp in the microwave for 30 seconds to erase the flash memory, then you can upgrade to anything you like.

So files were successfully reflashed. the custom background may be still there because its in flash1. the installation doesnt even touch flash1. thats why even after installation your nickname is the same, and your web browser settings keep as always. now, the cut, well... it could be the camera... I have a digital camera, that allows only 3 minutes of recording... maybe he reached the possible limit of the cam and had to record again. Also, you cant hexedit a OE eboot. Dark_alex makes security checks everywhere to dont allow anything to fail. Do you thing it would work when you mod it? DA himself codes eboots to make the DXAR with the proper firmwares subsets. This is real. I will be LOLing to all those noobs claiming it to be fake. at least have some respect to DA. if it werent by him, we all would be screwed devhooking in a barely old 1.5 psp.

I HAVE UPDATED MY STEP SONS PSP WITH 3.30 FW IT WAS RUNNING ON 3.03 FW. IT WAS ABOUT 3 WKS AGO I JUST CONNECTED IT TO THE WIRELESS HUB AN CLICKED ON UPDATE AND AWAY IT WENT! Also, after the cut the PSP is on some sort of charging holder with a blue light, not so in the first half. the blue light is there in the first half of the video, u can see the blue light just as he is about to press X to install 3.30 OE

To those who doubt DA's power

I to used to be a doubter of all of the bricks and viruses that plagued the net until I bricked my psp at firmware 1.5 custom that Dark_Alex created as a proof of concept. I thought nothing of it until my psp wouldn't turn on after trying to install a custom font but after I tried to turn it on it just stayed black, so after rembering it had DA's recovery menu no it I was able to put 1.5 back on it as though nothingwas done.

Hey, I think I have a similar problem as you guys... 1. open internet browser after new install 2. BSOD, press circle, PSP freezes 3. Reboot, try to restore default settings 4. PSP reboots, XMB won't load. I tried teh Flash 1 Formatter, still no dice. Anything else I can try? Note, PSP is region 3, not sure if this matters. Thanks in advance.
