Team M33 teaser: PSP Slim CFW 3.60 coming soon |

The last official release we heard from Team M33 was when they rolled out the fourth update of their custom firmware for PSP FW 3.52. Well, here's one of the biggest teasers in the history of homebrew: "3.60 M33 for PSP Slim Coming Soon!"That's what they currently have flagged (literally) in the middle of their website right now. How soon is soon? We have no clue. But in the homebrew scene, "soon" could be taken to mean within a day or two from now. Or just a matter of hours!
Meanwhile, the team hasn't dropped any "teaser" changelogs either, so all we can do is wait. For those who remember, that's what happened prior to the release of CFW 3.52 Update #3.
For what it's worth, this bit of news could finally dispel all your doubts (if there were any, to begin with) about getting a PSP Slim. Knowing that a CFW for 3.60 is bound to surface "soon," then you better start saving up for a Slim!
Keep your eyes peeled, folks! You can bet we'll be on top of things once 3.60 M33 CFW finally hits the scene!

someone please explain this. in order to have a custom firmware made you need the update file. but a 3.60 eboot isnt out inless there is one floating around

I really want a slim, but I can't really afford it, I don't have to save for PS3 anymore since my brother will get it soon, but then I really could have better use of a 360 or new PC or something liek that. But, I would love to play for example Portable OPS on the big screen!
i need a new psp, not want one. my screen is all screwed up from one of the music visualizations, the pixels are all shaky while the screen is on, not as vibrant as it should be, and when the screen automatic goes off from sitting too long, the screen gets all whacked out with wierd colors including black, so i can't see much of anything. so then i have to take out the battery to get it back to normal. i hope this works so i can trade up to a slim for free in december with my extended warrenty at the store i bought it at. i only want to do it if hb is on the slim, but i might do it regardless and just wait 'cause i'm sure it will happen.
Well, This is some great news. I just hope they don't release this too early so Sony won't patch any PSP Slims. But then again, we don't even know the method that the team is taking to do this...
P.S. Is buying the StarWars PSP Slim Pack the only way you can obtain a US ceramic white PSP Slim?
Creating a CW for 3.60 seems doable, but how are you going to allow the "slim" to be downgraded in the first place? Last I heard, the pandora battery trick didn't work.
how are we going to use this i thought Pandora didn't work on the slim. Did they tweak Pandora to get it to work?
someone dumped the firmware from the PSP slim (idk how) and so M33 has access to them.

What's the implementation here? Unless Team M33 is going to unleash some awesome homebrew enabler for 3.60 in the next couple of days, I've heard nothing on the homebrew implementation side of things. Just creating the CFW won't do anyone any good if no one's going to be able to install it.

the only way i can think this will work is by running it of the mem stick. scince u cant downgrade slims yet wats the point. even running off the mem syick mprobly wont work scince it uses pandoras battery. i dont get it? Its possibly for them to make it cause of the dumped firmeware, but how can they run it on an actual slim and wat about us 1100 users weres our cfw.(or offical 3.60 at that)
I've been reading the posts and I have to ask is CFW really hurting Sony? So many people said that they will get a slim just the CFW is coming out. or maybe the interest in the machine would die out they allowed homebrew. Thats why they keep beefing up on security just make the hackers work. That's the only logical explanation. Who is really exploiting who in this situation, Sony or the hackers?
Im not sure...but i have heard that 1.5 FW cant run on a slim...so the CFW would have to run on the 3.60 Kernel...Pandora Battery runs on 1.5 Kernel so yah...Pandora Battery will have to be modded
Only a few people know how to run unsigned code for the PSP slim. If this was to be public sony would patch it in their next firmware which will be released late september.
As for M33 on PSP slim, yes it is possible, the only reason you had to downgrade for PSP phat was so you can run homebrew, they have obviously found out a way to run homebrew on the 3.60 firmware. You would not need to downgrade, in fact you can't! PSP slim's first firmware is 3.60. Dark_Alex and Math discovered how to run unsigned code onto the slim not too long ago.
The PSP slim will boost in sales because of this.
could this just be a hybrid version of 3.60 for 'psphat'? - tho i don't think there were many worthwhile features.
Either way M33 aren't stupid - if they have got an idea on how to get CFW on the slim, no one is gonna complain.

It's fact that you can take out the flash chips and insert them into a Nano-Chip reader; install the chips to a OE psp and you can dump the firmware. so that's how MathieulH dumped it. the only thing i don't get is how in the WORLD you can run CFW on a psp slim; they barely came out! man M33 is fast!

ahhhh..... i think i smell something fishy going on here... so if all the cfw dev's were visiting sony, and DA came back, all of a sudden knowing how to hack the slim, and some peeps say he's with M33, maybe they made this to boost PSP sales for sony; since they were visiting them for odd reasons. so maybe all the cfw devs and Sony are in this together to keep the psp alive... that's the only thing i can think of...
I'm guessing that they found a way to run the Pandora battery by changing the ipl on it. Also the M33 team's CFW created an eboot when it's done so it is possible that you could create it on a regular PSP and then use the resulting eboot in place of the 1.50 one when using the Pandora battery. Therefore you don't have to downgrade the Slim just flash it with the 3.60 CFW eboot. This is just my guess and I am probably wrong in every way.
it probably uses a HEN (hello world) like how some firmwares you could keep them homebrew enabled or downgrade. maybe they found a way to take out the part of the firmware that requires code to be signed.

I'm a college student and I have don't have money for a new PSP. PSP slim is just for sony to make money. It's a little thinner, I don't care. The LCD screen is a little brighter, I don't care cuz mine is bright enough, I get blinded. It has USB charging, thats the easiest thing a hardware modder could've done by himself. And it has more ram = faster loading times. I don't see how this is an advantage cuz mine loads fast enough, atleast from the memory stick.
So I guess my PSP will slightly die...

The installation will require a Pandora battery (which DOES work on the slim) and will use new software that overcomes the security checks Sony added on the service mode.

I got leaked news that they were working on this since over 2 weeks with a PSP Slim they got their hands on (from someone not specified) and basically it will instal by accesing the flash0 files, enable the installer to run, and modify the flash0 so that it runs a copy of 3.60 firmware with a kernel similar to 1.5, run plugins and homebrew, run isos and csos (not dax, just like in the previous M33 CFW) and most (not all) of the options available from CWF 3.52-4. Evreyone keep spreading the news. 2 of the several members of M33 have leaked us this small tidbit of information. Release date for CFW 3.60 M33: Sept/10/2007

do you purchase an extended warrenty at a store that covers pretty much anything with free replacement? i did this last year too. on my first psp, the analog stick broke, so i just waited a few months until the sony warrenty expired, then took it to gamecrazy and got a new one. not sure how they are with bricks, or messed up screens for that matter. i might just end up breaking my analog stick again. and hopefully since the slim's will replace the regular psps, i'll get one of those instead. woo hooo if this cfw turns out to be true.

guys, have u's tried using the 3.52 M33 eboot instead of the 1.5 eboot for the magic memstick??? so instead of downgrading to 1.5 using da battery nad memstick, u go directly to 3.52!
If this by any chance is possible, you can replace the 1.5 eboot to the 3.60M33 for psp slim! remember, the 1.5 kernel is also embedded into 3.52M33, so its all cool, i'll give it ago tonight!
is full of sh*t. You can't change the files on flash0; they're encrypted and sigchecked. You can only do this with a custom IPL.
You guys didnt even read all of Mats posts on Maxconsole, he said that he and Dax have already dumped the PSP SLIM and then he said that the other CFW groups will be announcing PSP SLim 3.60 CFW later on this week.
You really didnt read that part of his post. He already said that the security updates arent really that great and Sony didnt put much effort into the security and for your information, they don't really need 1.50 to run HB and all of that stuff as in you don't really need 1.50 to upgrade to 3.60 CFW.
You just need to tweak the programs to work on a PSP SLIM. Anythings hackable, also Mat said it was really easy to hack the PSP SLIM.
Also you do not really know Sony very well, is that they ditched PSP owners for the PS3 and thus they try there best to make the PS3 non hackable, while they put little effort into upgrading the security on a PSP, same thing will happen to all of there handhelds, they care more about the console wars rather than handhelds.
Have you even seen there crappy accessories for the PSP, they didnt put much effort into them and the accessories suck badly and the PS3, they put more effort into the accessories for the PS3 than PSP.
I mean Sony making accessories for the systems, NOT 3RD PARTIES! 3rd parties actually put alot of effort into accessories for the PSP.
Hey jon to break ur analog stick, u might already kno this, just spin it around and it will ***** up the insides so it always goes in some direction. You can also try one of the 3rd party nubs and play any game since ull prob do it by accident with one of those dam things

This is freaking awesome, but I still don't want a psp slim. I may have to get one though as my regular psp's memory stick slot no longer locks the stick in place, so it just pops out all the time. So I guess whn this comes out I'll bet a slim and donate to M33
