Suddenly, Update #4! Team M33 releases Custom Firmware 3.52's fourth update |

Like a lightning bolt out of the blue, Team M33 strikes unexpectedly with their fourth update to their very own Custom Firmware 3.52. It's not as major as the previous one, as it's mainly a bugfix that takes care of a few nagging issues the team must have missed after they rolled out their highly-anticipated third update. In any case, let's get to the changelog and see what's new!
Changes in M33-4 (mainly bugfix)
- Fixed the bug that caused CRC error when writing to flash usb in the XMB. Now writing is OK.
- Added the new speeds to vshmenu and core, because we forgot in recovery.
- As we didn't want to release a new update without something new, we worked in making 3.10/3.11 to work with popsloader, and that's it, the new popsloader plugins supports them.
- Instruction for 3.10 and 3.11 are same as 3.30: you need pops.prx, popsman.prx and pafmini.prx with the correct names in popsloader directory. And remember that savedata of 3.10-3.30 are incompatiblewith those of 3.40+. We'll research if a solution for this is possible.

1. I am on m33 3.52-3.
2. I went to control panel on my PC and deleted all history and cache an the rest.
3. I did the same process on my psp from Tools.
4. I download the update from QJ ( BET PLACE- WE CAN TRUST IT!)
5. I backed up the files on my memory stick and then formatted the memory stick.
6. I placed m33's psp folder to the root of my mem and then inside that psp folder made a GAME folder so that the update would show up.
7. By now you should have PSP-GAME150 (with update in) and GAME (folder also inside psp.)
8. I then copied the seplugins to the root of memory stick.
9. I fully charged my psp and left it on charge whilst I selected the upate from the game menu of the psp xmb, and pressed the cross button.
10. I s*at myself (joke)(honest!)
11. the screen will come up sayin g on the ps3 new brick crap. i Was nervous but pressed x.
12. it was done in 2 seconds literally. as soon as i pressed x it said update successful
13.Go mad and celebrate.

We repeat it again: THERE IS NO MALICIOUS CODE inside M33.
Some of the files of this update are protected by encryption schemes to protect ourselves
from that page that annoys homebrew developers.
The keys for the decryption: the own update file.
So if the file is changed, the decrypted data is not the original one, and this causes the
wrong data to be written. There is no way you can call this malicious code as there is no explicit
code to brick nothing, it is the corruption of the update what actually causes the bad decrypted
data to be written.
Anyways in this update we check if decrypted data is wrong and in that case we write a recovery
warning the user what happened. It will activate usb, and it will allow you to execute a recovery
eboot.pbp... in a curious path ("ms0:/PSP/GAME/PS3NEWS_ARE_STEALE RS_I_AM_NOT_GON NA_VISIT_THEM/EBOOT.PBP")

you can get WinRAR although if they have a Mac version of 7-zip get it because its freeware and can do lots of other formats too. Macs are cool but way expensive. Thats why i use OSx86

There is not a single PSP title yet that requires 3.52...So basically all you are doing by upgrading is showing Sony that you want more FW's, which is trash&unheard of before this console. Mandatory updates to play software is a joke. If you have anything intelligent to say, please do.

Daniel serafin stole the source of code of many homebrewers, hex edited the author names away and said it was all his work.
he made money with traffic on his site and thousands of ads, he made money with stealing, he is a little mf.
Also he didnt care about posting the real names and adresses of any homebrew coders, so it was just a little revenge to this prigg.

All you need to do is copy to your memstick and enable the POPSLoader in you Recovery menu. IV also included v3.51 and 3.52 so it should be future proof

i have a psp fw 1.5 using devhook to go to fw 3.03. but ive been stuck to that fw since there is no support for devhook above 3.1 and all the new games need 3.1+ so my question is: does cfws like m33's or DA's work like devhook where it can change the fw to 3.52 letting me play the games i want, and when i want to use homebrew i can quit the program and itll revert back to my original fw 1.5? if its not, how do i go back to the 1.5 fw using cfws fom m33 and DA? thanks for the info

Why would people say it bricks, if it doesn't? I've read through the success/failure threads associated with CFW, and none have the staggering failure rate of M33's.

It doesn't brick, only semi bricks, then you can use the recovery, and restore to w/e firmware you desire.
