Well, its official, apparently Japan is the first to receive the latest firmware of the system software to 2.7 tomorrow (April 25). Not many details are available at this time, but all that's known for now is that the update will include Macromedia Flash for the Internet Browser and AAC compatibility (music). Fanjita pretty much told them exactly how to patch it. Every time the eloader comes out everyone goes into loads of detail on exactly how it works on every site.
Take before the 2.6 loader came out. It was everywhere that it was obtaining the syscalls that caused the problem. Its obvious that if they haven't found a way to stop it completely, they will have at least made the syscalls worse to find than in 2.6, and that took everyone long enough to find.
I'm not complaining or anything. We wouldn't have had the loaders if the problems hadn't been posted for other people to help. But Sony will have heard of what caused the problems and if they've got any brains they will have worked on making those problems even more troublesome for developers (homebrew not commercial).
This is *almost* enough to make me upgrade my firmware past 2.0 right now, though when Guilty Gear comes out a few days I surely upgrade to whatever that wants anyway.

Technically that could be as soon as 4-5 hours from now..

I agree.. wouldnt it be funny if some flash exploit could enable a new non-gta way of loading homebrew?
It always says that it is only for that region...its just a security measure, so if it anything happens they can say you voided your warrenty by using it, even though updates are region free
They always say that. They said that with the 2.0 update and thousands of North Americans used the Japanese update eboot without problems.
I guess we'll have to wait and get the details when this update is released..

Flash 8 is out, why are they using an old version? It means we can't use the good flash sites, like Newgrounds. If everywhere is using flash 8, why upgrade?

I wonder if it's the last version of Flash 6 that's supported, as it features some language support of Flash 7 stuff (ActionScript 2.0).
Also wonder if you'll be able to upgrade the Flash player, as you can code a Flash movie to upgrade automatically from that last version of Flash 6 plug-in I mentioned...
A 2.6 firmware PSP plays AAC just fine already. What's that thing with 2.7 and AAC?
i wanna upgrade so bad but i value my 1.5 psp..
can eloader or w.e load up and of the iso loaders or i.r shell on 2.0??

Those people who have said they would upgrade there 1.5 when 2.7 come out are a bit odd. Anyways i would like to trade my 2.5 psp with 2gig, 3 games and accessories. And all i want is the 1.5 psp core system. So those of you who want to upgrade to 2.7 from 1.5 can get a bargain of me. I'm giving away over ÂŁ300 worth, just for 1.5. no psx emu = no upgrade
But it's only available via Network Update for now. It weighs in at 19MB and takes a minute or two.

even if they keep commng up with these updates some ones going to crack them the only problem is that fanjita gave up with there work and it's starting to question other hackers for the psp module

duoes anybody know what websites will allow me to play games i found one game that works its the war on terrorism game on miniclip.com...

even if a xploit flash is found, flash is slow, so games would run very slow, and may not run at all , even snake for flash for psp, after geting it big, starts runing slow, at 3 frames per second :(
So if i understand:P, no Homebrew no emulator and still *****t off..
only that flash *****.. you even cant play minigames on gamesites..

Can someone answer Runescaper's question?
I tried to use something called Logmein.com, which I was told would work, but a message popped up when I used it's remote control that said I could only look at a snapshot of sites, because "Java and ActiveX" are disabled.
I don't know if anyone understands that, but my point is: Does anyone know a way to play Runescape on PSP?
