*UPDATE*
Eric Lempel took to the PlayStation Blog to announce that the firmware update v6.00 "will be available soon." Looks like he didn't hear of it having been released already earlier.
Nonetheless, he gives us an exact list of the changelog, and so we find that it is a minor update - just as he said. From the looks of it, the items that were correct from the leaked changelog would be the added new theme colors under the Theme Settings, and the renaming of the Network Update to System Update. As for the other goods, they're not listed here by Lempel.
- For those of you looking to customize your XMB (XrossMediaBar), a
few new colors will be added under the Theme Settings. These new theme
colors can be used on PSP models 2000 or after (PSP-2000, 3000 and
N1000).
- A security patch has been added.
- [Network Update] has been renamed as [System Update].

this is all i could find added
* Games can now be grouped and displayed in folders based on their expire date under [Game].
* Under [Settings], [Network Update] has been changed to [System Update]. Under [System Update], you can now choose how to update the system software.
* The number of colors that can be selected under [Settings] > [Theme Settings] has been increased.
* Revisions to strengthen security have been added. (Internet Browser)

* Battery Icon bars now move side to side when charging.
* Photos now show every info about the file
* Under [Theme Settings] > [Background], it now shows a preview on the background
* Version info on a game shows up

*When using a file in videos, music, or photos. It now says "XMB" instead of "Home"

I'm hoping for a 6.00M33 or 6.00GEN as well. Hopefully this will happen. I'm looking forward to see what happens.
I highly doubt there will be a 6.00M33 as DA said he wont do a new CFW until $ony add something worth cracking and this is another lame update.
I guess we will be seeing a 6.00GEN in the next few weeks.

Well since DA said he isnt doing another update till they put something worth cracking in isnt 5.55's new checks enough for that at least a -7 patch to 5.00m33-6
Right now most cfw cant get on the psn store from the psp anymore and there are games showing up that wont play on it...
SONY!!! I want multitasking function for my PSP. =(
we are probably not going to get another Custom firmware until there are some real good features so far its been patches for CFW from other developers other then M33.

These updates are utter crap. Sony has really dropped the ball with the firmwares. I haven't picked up my PSP in ages, maybe when chinatown wars is released I'll be interested.

GEN dumped 6.00 and found some new things on there site.
GEN already dumped 6.00 so we might see a new CFW from them soon. As for DAX on PSPWIKI Alek says no 6.00 M33 and on Sceners.org the same thing.
im pretty sure the psp's wireless card can only support 802.11b. upgrading to G is a lot more than software...
where is the update to sort music, by goddam artist and genera?

So happy I sold PSP and got iPod touch. lol, Sony screws up the PSP worse then Microsoft screws up, everything! lol, well that was a bit harsh. No one can screw something up as bad as Microsoft can but Sony sure is coming close.

802.11b> 1 2 5.5 11 Mbps
802.11g> 6 9 12 18 24 36 48 and 54Mbps
there is also support for proprietary data rates of 22 and 72 Mbps for access Point/Gateway application.... so i just dont know why sony deosenĀ“t enable it in a new uppdate/Ofw

that is true? this damn PSP got it nativly? now sony suxx even more in my eyes >_>
i didn't sell my PSP, in fact i still find it a great gaming platform, but why does Sony have to not add every feature that is most wanted, and already proved to be possible with home-brew? things like the music sorting capability, i would fill the PSP with more music than an ipod, but unfortunately the PSP has no music sorting, so it depends on me sorting it all into folders. The problem with putting music into folders, is that it only works when each folder has less than thirty songs, once it gets over that things become hard to navigate. Why Sony why? you have it in the PS3? does it really take that much power to sort music by artist and album?
Actually I browse it to see if Sony has added anything useful or if any good games have come out on the PSP yet. If one of them happens then I'll probably get another PSP.
