Ó

1112733092MPH has just updated his firmware launcher to version 1.3.7. This version includes the following additions. Using this program on a PSP with 1.0 or 1.50 Firmware, you can “emulate” a higher firmware version from your memory stick and gain access to some of the features 2.0+ Firmware has to offer, such as AVC video playback and limited browser functionality. This program will not allow you to play games that require 2.0+ to play, such as Grand Theft Auto. Here are the new additions and instructions to this interesting piece of homebrew:

  • New graphic interface
  • Install / Uninstall firmware with interface from an eboot.pbp or a flash0 folder
  • Copy flash1 files automatically
  • Language support
  • Corrected some bugs

Installation:
- For 1.00 firmware : copy MPHFL (in 1.00 folder) to PSP/GAME folder of your memory stick
- For 1.50 firmware : copy MPHFL and MPHFL% (in 1.50 folder) to PSP/GAME of your memory stick

Put files of flash0 (data, dic, font, kd et vsh) and flash1 (dic, registry et vsh) in ms0:/ (folder of your choice, default : ms0:/flash0 and ms0:/flash1) (see Firmware convert tutorial.txt in zip)

Run MPH Firmware Launcher.

Browser:
Don't use logfile with browser else browser will freeze (maybe because browser call sceIoCloseAll and file descriptor of Log file is close also, sceIoWrite failed and psp freeze).

Video file:
The AVC video must be stored in :
{memory stick letter}:/MP_ROOT/100ANV01/MAQxxxxx.MP4
where xxxxx is number (example MAQ00001.MP4).

The MPEG4 video must be stored in :
{memory stick letter}:/MP_ROOT/100MNV01/M4Vxxxxx.MP4
where xxxxx is number (example M4V00001.MP4).

Ichigo: It means that it decrypts/extracts the firmware from an update EBOOT file, then places it in the right place to be used by the loader.

frstbyte32, read mph's tutorial at http://mphwebsite.tuxfamily.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=54

That should answer most questions you have.

Thanks inflame i will do this , But ...

What would be good is if someone could post ready made ,, 2.0+ Eboots .

So noobs like me could just dump the flash folders on our mem stick and run the MPH firmware launcher.

I understand that it wouldn't be a good idea if theres a chance of messing up someones PSP.

Would anyone be able to do this for Jap , Uk and US psp's?

If the different eboots for different country's matter of course.

ok, so like an idiot I just blindly replaced my latest miemet11 patch that worked pretty damn well with this one, thinking that it would just be all that and completely skipped testing it out on the tester card before doing so.

and now, I'm totally confused. I kept the same firmware 2.0 that I decrypted and everything right where it was, and ran this, and I guess I'm just going to have to wait for a tutorial or a patch or something new because I just can't figure it out.

Where does this update eboot.pbp go? theres no folder for it, does it just go in the root? and then what? Should I delete my old firmware I was running and let this one decrypt one from scratch for itself? I just don't get it

The readme is so out of date, but im having problems with this one, it unpacks and everything just fine, but when it comes to emulating, it gives me a black screen...

Anyway the earlier versions worked for me, this simply temporarily changes the directories of ur flash folders, so u can EMULATE different versions of the PSP FirmWare.

This gives u the brower, AVC play back, ability to send photos, ( ONLY DIGITAL!!! )

Stuff like that... MEH

The update goes in PSPGAMEUPDATE. If the folder doesn't exist, make it.

EdwardFMA must've had the MPH Firmware Launcher delete stuff off of his memory stick. People...if you are going to remove the firmware that you installed through this new MPH Firmware launcher, manually delete it. If you uninstall it through the Firmware Launcher it will delete stuff off of your memory stick. This new MPH launcher puts a new ini file that lists folders in your memory stick. Once that is gone you'll lose your stuff. So just manually uninstall the firmware. Just delete the flash0 and flash1 folders.

I followed the MPHFWL guide that was posted up (http://mphwebsite.tuxfamily.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=54) and everything works fine. When you do this correctly you will also be able to use the same flash0 and flash1 with the Flashmod homebrew. It is kinda strange running this and seeing the 2.0 browser, I will do more tests later. This has come a long way and can only get better, keep up the good work!!
