This _IS_ a bricker. Do not use it. ONLY USE DARK ALEX'S AT THE MOMENT. Dark alex's custom firmware is great, safe, and recovery mode is fantastic. There is NO reason to try anything else unless it offers REAL features that are not in Dark Alex's. This wouldn't even be worth it if it wasn't a bricker, simply because it doesn't add anything worthwhile that you can't get with the verified dark alex custom firmware. SHame on you qj, you're supposed to check all programs before publishing the story aren't you?

if you read the forum you will see it works. the brick-comments seem to be just of one ***censored bad language***... who is pissed for no reason. reverting back is possible via included recovery menu. this uninstalls the fwmod. but it would propably really be the best for all modders to work together.

I used to unflasher to remove all the previous setting and tried it, flashed without any problem, usb auto work, booting into devhook work too.

The point isn't that it bricks, which apparently it looks like some people bricked, but that the features it offers are not NEARLY worth even the risk of it. It's Dark Alex's firmware + holding L to boot devhook and 2.71. Not nearly worth it. Wait until something interesting happens, where a developer makes that can do something you can't already. Booting up devhook and then loading up 2.71 is entirely possible in STANDARD 1.50, so there is no real point in doing it automatically, except to save 8 seconds or so. But things like recovery mode ARE in fact good features that ARE worth it.

False Reports of Bricking

I have removed all multiple fake reports of bricking that were originating from the same IP. There were 2 or 3 culprits. Any other reports of bricking in these comments did not appear to be falsified and should be taken into consideration.

Tested it. Works. Steps: 1. Uninstall old FW mod with Slasher's program (if any) 2. Extract ZIP contents to memory stick. 3. Run custom installer. 4. Open config.txt file and choose your options. For those people who say they bricked their PSP... Please stop lying. Unless you didn't have the AC Adapter plugged in and the battery ran out, or the battery dropped out, it's virtually impossible to screw this up.

I'm having a problem, I installed the devhook autoloader, but instead of having to hold L to load devhook, it just loads automatically! I was stuck on 2.7 for a while, I had to open the config.txt and delete the autoboot line of code to get back to 1.50!

1.5 firmware can already use memory cards up to 4gb. I know because I am using one right now. It just won't go any higher than 4gb, Hope this helps.

THE Perfect Firmware

The Perfect Firmware would be similar to devhook in one way. It would load things from the memory stick. You get one firmware that can be customized through files on the memory stick. Would include several different emulators being implemented into the firmware, many different video and audio format's being supported on the firmware and a checklist of other features that you could choose to install. Including anything that people request. This way people wouldn't have to worry about dealing with flashing their PSP and bricking it. I hope that makes sense.

No problems here.. Tried the original POC & that worked fine.....used Slasher's unflasher....that worked fine.... Removed all the files associated with the orig POC & the tried Harleyg's....Spot on, no issues what so ever.. Harleyg's setup is the one that will boot direct to 1.5 XMB if you do nothing & you can boot to Devhhok@2.71 with pressing L (that's the setup I personally like..go with the others if you want a different button config.)....throw a couple of modded prx's into the mix & I am one happy bunny... Recovery works fine for me to. N.B. In his Forum Release Thread he is talking about making the whole button configuration option customizable, not sure how he plans this as yet...this would be ideal

for all those people having problems with 2.7 autoloading rather than 1.5, it's probably because you had darkalex's custom firmware flashed first, and then u used this on top YOu need to use the Unflasher app to unflash it, then use this one fresh

It's just like a new flavor of soda or bubblegum. Zettablade's auto USB and Screenshot mods are very neat IMO. i usually dont have to overclock so that isn't much of a "woo hoo" for me. This is an awesome time in PSP homebrew.

lots of people have been posting they wanted flash 8 in the browser... somehow i dought thats possible (i mean usable). the flash player 6 at the moment is very slow and laggy, what makes you think flash player 8 (with all the new filters and effects) will be able to run on the psp? as for this update, this is great. thank you very much :)

I bricked my psp with this mod,uninstalled dark alexs and then ran this one and it bricked it.The ms was loading,battery was working and umd was reading but the screen was all black. So i unbricked by turning it on and leaving it on HOLD and it worked ,it was in config and recovery so i just uninstalled it and it worked.

help needed

I used the custom firmware and now my psp is always loading up 2.71 from the devhook thing. Is there anyway to stop this from happening? I'm pretty sure that i need to use the unflasher but i cant load it up as im in 2.71. Can someone please help me :(
