Illuminati exploit brings homebrew to all PSP Firmware! |

If this isn't one of the biggest updates in awhile for PSP gamers then I don't know what you're waiting for - go get a DS. However on a serious note, some PSP gamers love their PSP and all the "great features Sony has to offer", so much that they update their precious system firmware as to not miss a beat. Updating your PSP's firmware to the latest firmware has come at a cost, as some are left stuck without the glory of homebrew. All thats about to change, as Archaemic and Noobz have made some major progress on bringing homebrew to the newer firmware PSP's. Homebrew working on all PSP firmware (even 3.50) with a Lumines UMD and Illuminati exploit!
I couldn't believe it either. Many of us are sitting next to our favorite puzzle game Lumines right now. With this new PSP exploit, the blissfully sweet puzzle game can now be forged like a double edge sword. Giving PSP owners, on ANY firmware the ability to play homebrew applications, games and emulators till our hearts content or till we explode from nostalgia. So without further ado check out the simple steps for running the Noobz 'Hello World' app, which in the future will transform into HEN (Homebrew Enabler) and a downgrader. Amazing!
Noobz Guide for running the Illuminati Exploit:
- Check that you have an EU or US version of Lumines (ULES00043 or ULUS10002). Currently we don't have a version for the Japanese version, but we're working on it, as soon as we get hold of a Japanese UMD.
- Extract the contents of the 'MS_ROOT' folder from the ZIP file into the top-level of your memory stick. (HINT: If you wind up with an 'MS_ROOT' folder on the stick, you've done it wrong).
- Start the game, and as soon as it gets to the 'Press START' screen, press START. If you wait until the demo has started, the exploit may not work.
- The screen should go blank, and the exploit will start after a few moments. It doesn't do anything except look pretty at this stage - but feel free to enjoy the first homebrew on your v3.10 - v3.50 PSP

The NON Downgradable firm is comin soon to psps everywhere( Eb Games CEO Said) what they should of done is wait till then for Non down firm psps to have homebrew too :( AND FIND an EASIER way to patch IT :( for A Downgrade! I dont think sony is the one with the patching games. i think it will be the devs of the game that will patch it. after all, sony doesnt know the coding of that certain game. (kinda like homebrew, no source code.)

Damn I was hoping this would never happen. Being able to downgrade from 3.03 is good enough. As much as you *****es hate to see it, ISO loaders are making an impact on game sales. You can attempt to say "NO THHTEY'RE NOT, STUPID!" but you're wrong, killer. 3.03 downgrader is just fine, everyone who updated deserves to be left where they are. The less people that use custom firmware, the better. But I guarentee anyone who downgrades doesn't give a *****, lol, but they will when developers see how much piracy actually happens.
Sony will quickly patch this up in a new firmware update i reckon

err, great news for the homebrew scene - everyone gets the chance to downgrade etc etc sony screwed again, but this is inevitably going to have consequences for psp software sales cos there are too many people who just want to use isos. isos are fine, but only if you buy retail games AS WELL- otherwise it could get to the point of sony just saying screw the psp - there's too much piracy and software development could stop.

I can confirm that this works on 3.40 and on the U.S. Greatest Hits version of Lumines.

Lumines is a cheap game too, so it's easy to obtain.
If you're at 3.40 oe, why are you trying to use this anyway? This is for enabling homebrew on sony FW.
Kinda funny isn't it? Here we are in the last days of June and the homebrew scene is boiling over again just like last year.
I bought my psp because of the 2.6 downdater that was rolled out at the end of the month. I was amazed at all the GOOD HOMEBREW STUFF the psp was able to run. It turned the psp into a true multi game system.
Sure there's gonna be a lot of confused users with a ton of questions everybody has heard before, but to be able to use homebrew is a RIGHT not just an option. I believe every owner should be able to use any software they choose as long as it's not illegally obtained.
I believe that if you own the unit you should be able to run homebrew on or use it for a hockey puck. YOUR CHOICE.
I know I have an enabled homebrew psp, that I can use homebrew, backups and PSX games, but I want to try the Iluminati Exploit of lumines, I have the original UMD of lumines and a PSP it should work, and some some people reported me it works in a 3.40OE-A PSP, so it should work on my PSP but it only shutdowns it and I cant understand why... I'm only looking for a response.

1 year ago the first GTA savgame exploit as released. At the time, I was on 2.71 at the time. I remember saying, I'll do that by the end of the summer. I was right the tiff exploit was released. When sony patches this, I predict whatever retard updates his PSP to beyond 3.50, will be able to run homebrew on his PSP by the end of the summer.

its impossible or pointless. if you have the capability of loading an iso, you dont need it to begin with, since you can already use homebrew. if you dont have homebrew yet, you cant load the iso.

I purchased a blue psp which came with firmware 3.11 as default, but now I upgraded to 3.50 to take advantage on remote play via internet and fully well know that the exploit works. I can’t wait to enable homebrew on 3.50 or custom firmware.

I need to know if this will work with a program to change the mac address of a PSP wireless card.
When the original one blew, i had to change it out BUT now adhoc doesnt work because the mac addresses between the wifi card and the motherboard are different, so no multiplayer between PSPs.
If not, I have to find another way to do this.

Yo, i just bought 1 from EB games in Australia and yes, it does work!
The ID from the Australian 1 is: ULUS10002
Extract the file on to your desktop. You get a folder named MS_Root. Click on PSP, Savedata and copy the contents. Now navigate to your SaveData folder (PSP-->SAVEDATA) and paste those in here.
Be sure to make a backup of your data first though as it will overwrite it.

lumines 1 right now 2 i beilive there is a two i had homebrew before and then bought a white psp and it came with 3.10 and i almost threw it ou the window this is great news i have never even heard of lumines till now im not in to puzzle games

It is better than downloadable firmware in that you can use the Locationfree player with this exploit but you have to run Lumines every time for this hack, but I cant wait till a 3.50-A with Location Free

I updated it to 3.50 without knowing anything about homebrew than I started to read in to it. It sounds awsome playing snes games on psp and stuff, I just want to know if a downgrader where to come out, what version would it downgrade to and also does that mean I will use the remote play feature?

everyone.....head to your local walmart. They have the lumines game in the bargin bins for $0.10!!!!!!!!!no bull involved. I thought i got lucky but there has been many more reports of finding the game for $0.10!!!!!

Will it hurt my poor UK PSP if I upgrade to 3.50 using an the American firmware? Its the only one I can find and I want to try the Lumines thingy so I need 3.50 and not 3.51. Otherwise if anyone can host the eu firmware or can provide a link to an existing version then pleeeaaaase......
