Heads up, North America: PSP FW 3.50 now available |

A few hours ago, Japan got the big Three-Point-Five-Oh. It was only a matter of time before the happy elves of Sony got to work with a version for North America. So, straight right out of the official U.S. site of Sony, PSP Firmware 3.50 is now available below for your perusal.
So what exactly are we looking at here? The biggest feature of this FW update is your handheld compatibility with its console brother, the PS3. The recent FW 1.80 for the PS3 opened up Remote Play, and now, this PSP FW 3.50 is what will finally make things go full circle. Here's a changelog from the Sony's NA site:
Network
- You can now connect a PSP system to a PS3 system via the Internet using [Remote Play].
- [Communication Settings] has been added as an option to the [Remote Play] menu.
- [RSS Channel Guide] has been added as a feature under [RSS Channel].

and i'm sure all other custom firmware users agree... the Sony update doesn't mean much... until there is a new custom firmware, why update? Unless you're suddenly tired of homebrew...?!
Too bad booster is dead to the homebrew scene. i'd love to see a new devhook, but we all know that'll never happen because custom firmwares are the "shiznit" now supposedly. I'm sticking with 3.11 in devhook, i don't really care for the custom firmwares too much =\. and no i'm not scared for any of you noobs out there lol, i downgraded my PSP from 3.03 to 1.5 and it was TA-082, did that twice and a few times for friends. So I really could care less about flashing my PSP. I just don't like the custom firmwares

Anyway this sucks ass my PSP wont register to my PS3 cause I patched mt motherboard to get OE to load which is something I did not know about that it messes with the keys required to register to the PS3 so I'm *****ed! And no one is helping me even if I upgrade to maximum it wont work.

1. Wait a few months and they likely find an exploit to downgrade using, or they do in a newer firm
2. Trade your psp with a friend that doesn't care about brew and has a lower firm on his
3. by a new mobo with lower firm and replace the one in your psp
4. buy a new psp and sell the old
wtf are you talking about?!, just download chilly willy's key cleaner and use that to fix keys that are bad, and visit his forum and you can read through the 27 pages on how to get your keys perfect through hex editing ... no need to worry about anything + there is no custom firmware out for 3.50 yet anyways so its features will be useless to you until then... i dont understand what your issue is - you are misinformed i believe and severely overreacting

man everyone updates the psp without knowing bastard. Even i did it and i had a freakin 2.00 when i updated to 2.60. We all wanted to know what the new features were. No one knew about the homebrew when they buy their very first psp. So give the guy a break.

yes this is great firmware but i myself admits that 3.50_oe is the cream of the crap er crop. and the internet remote play is a lil nonsense to me because free wifi access on outdoors is pretty much a needle on a haystack.

Has any one try out the New advance remote play? Whenever I try My psp sign's in and then times out and boom I'm out. WTF am I the only one that this happens to? Have I set up the router wroung. anyone have some advice?

I'm buying a PSP off ebay and they have some pretty good deals... but.... I don' know which firmware some of them have. I'm good as long as it's not 3.5.... I sure hope it doesn't have that. (I mean the one I'm buying.)
It looks like Sony did something in 3.5 a lot different from the other which makes it a LOT harder to hack through.
Sorry to hear what happened to your PSP. Custome firmware usually has some extra letters by it to let you know about it. (OE) normally. Check at afterdawn.com. They have lots of info on trying to do stuff with a PSP.

i downloaded the 3.50 update from playstation,com and i dont know if i will ever be able to downgrade it.i didnt know about homebrew programs before that and now im pissed i really want 1.50 custom firmware!!!
