FlashMod4587-768443

IchigoKurosaki from Orbis PSP Development has once again updated our forums with the latest release of FlashMod, a great utility for changing certain aspects of how your PSP operates. The big news about this release is that there is now a version for 1.0 and 2.0 PSPs, allowing you to increase the CPU and GPU speed of UMD games, as well as edit menu titles in the XMB.

Features for Firmware 2.00:

  • Load UMD's with CPU clocked at 333 and GPU clocked at 166
  • Restore/Edit XMB Menu Names (Can't use PSP Menu Edit by Loco for Firmware 2.00)

Features for Firmware 1.50:
  • Load UMD's with 2.00 or higher support (Has not been improved)
  • Load UMD's with CPU clocked at 333 and GPU clocked at 166
  • Restore/Remove asura effect
  • Restore/Add custom backgrounds
  • Restore/Edit XMB menu names
  • Version reminder removed due to complaints

Features for Firmware 1.00:
  • Load UMD's with 2.00 or higher support
  • Load UMD's with CPU clocked at 333 and GPU clocked at 166
  • Restore/Remove asura effect
  • Restore/Add custom backgrounds
  • Restore/Edit XMB menu names (Can't use PSP Menu Edit by Loco for Firmware 1.00)

Please read the included documentation and warnings - any program that writes to your PSP's flash memory has the potential to damage your PSP.

If I download "FlashMod v2.0 for 1.50 Firmware", can I run GTA:LCS on firmware 1.5? And watch the movies (lcs needs 2.0 because the support for new video types)?

Who wants to here a funny story? I edited the rco file and it worked fine. Then I guess I got greedy and decided to edit it more. Now all my PSP does is launch UMDs, and when turned on without a UMD, it displays the background, time, and battery level. Yay. No menu, no fancy clicking sounds.

Is there any way I can use witchcraft (or some other form of magic, black magic perhaps) to force my PSP into Flashmod? I know there's not, wasted post.

Poop: The only way i could think of fixing you PSP is to wait for someone to come out with another save game Exploit for a game you own so that you can load a Game and Load the hacked save game and run FlashMod to restore the rco File

I suggest trying out every hack with UMDEmulator before Flashing.

yuyo: Load UMD's with 2.00 or higher support (Has not been improved)

I tried this on my 2.0 using Choice and the UMD over clocking makes a very noticeable difference to the Sims 2. Try it and you will see!!

I just realized what would work though. I could launch an update to 2.0 UMD and just get 2.0 (then downgrade).

This does not load UMD's with 2.0.

Am I doing something wrong?

I ran the FlashMod 2.0 for 2.0 Firmware with Eboot Loader 0.9, pressed X to load a UMD but nothing happens (just sits there). What am I doing wrong? I've also set my PSP version to read 2.5 using PSP SetX 0.1, but I doubt that is the problem.

Does this means, we can play (load) higher version of (2.01, 2.50, & 2.60) with current Firmware 1.00, 1.50 & 2.00 on our PSP?

Well first off you will need Fanjita's eboot loader, I would advise version 0.9, You can get it at dl.qj.net

Any questions on installing see the forums

Can someone please verify functionality?

If I have a v1.00 PSP will this allow games that require an update to v2.00+ to play correctly?

I hope so. There are a couple games that I want to support by buying them but wont right now because I don't want to update my PSP. Plus the ISOs don't work for them either :)

Hmm...And you went to photo..loaded the eboot loader, and then hit x?

And you downloaded the version for 2.0 correct?

If both those ae true, then what version of Ebootloader are you using?

thats 0.9, You can change that by using another "loadmenu.tga" by the way!

Um, it should work, try reinstalling with the 2.0 version of flashmod
