Dark_AleX has just released an update to his custom firmware 3.03 OE. Now at A'/A2, here's the list of changes:
- Added cpu clock selection for umd/iso games. (not for vsh yet)
- Fixed various bugs regarding the recovery menu, one of them made "rare text" appear when entering in plugins if pops plugins existed, the other one caused a crash when pressing triangle.
- Fixed a small part of code in umd emulation that was not multithread safe.

You need to upgrade to 3.03 OE-A first. Running it from 3.02 OE-B will probably screw up everything or possibly even brick your PSP. Why can't you read the article though? It says right there that you have to upgrade to 3.03 OE-A first...geesh.

dose this firmware runs psp iso/cso with out devhook? my 302 doesn't need it with a little mod iso runs like the ps1 games.

this dosen't work with the cintro mod anymore and I didn't see an improment in lspeed when i had it at 333 maybe its because i have it compressed into a cso

uh...no it doesn't. only $ony can release new updates or make improvements to the emulator. this fixes a bug in the recovery plug-ins menu that i've ran across myself. it also apparently let's you overclock now too in game.
I haven't used any of the new features since 2.71 SE-A (only wanted it for the ISO capability) but I can honestly say I have been updating these to keep with the current. Never got into popstation games. Can't think of one PS1 game I actually loved more than a PSP version. But every release that comes out, I will update! Thanks DA and the PSP homebrew community! -Bildo-

the psp was specced to run at 333mhz. but due to battery drain is stock underclocked at 222. if you dont care about batter life (for example, only 4 hours play instead of 5-6 i dont know numbers, just an example) then 'overclocking' is fine. or if you are running it off a power source then you know, doesnt matter much. thats what i understood anyway.

ok ok.... i hostfiles to this 3.02-3.03OE-A. and my thread has gotten 9505 Hits... with over 700 Replys.. so go to PSPiso.com. and register, and then go into PSP applications. and i will help those who needs IT....
you can always use the recovery mode to get back to 1.5 (rtfm) - but really there is no need. DA's firmwares do everything 1.5 does, and the current firmware, and more. as for your 1.5 homebrew - put them in PSP/GAME150 and try.
i update mine from 3.02 OE-B to 3.03 OE-A not A'. and it got bricked. i knoiw theres a recovery mode for it and i can recover it but where do i download the recovery file? pls tell me im desperate i cant live without my psp

uhh no. I did that like you, thinking i'd receive the latest features offered by sony, but realized it was dumb. Go back to where you bought the psp and bs them telling them your wifi won't work since the update and ask for another psp. this time up/down grade to 2.71, then downgrade to 1.5, then upgrade to 3.03oea'. then you're good to go.

The overclock does work! 59 FPS in VCS with an ISO!

What's the point of upgrading, I mean just wait till all the bugs are taking care of then upgrade, and pleas dont say that the compression is your reason. cuz I can fit up to 4 ps1 games 1 psp iso 40 mp3 and a short video on my 2 gb stick even then I don't get to play all the games all the time. so yeah my advice just wait a week or so, flashing your PSP every so often isn't very smart. and last thing is thank you Dark ALex cuz you rock.
make sure your game folder is under the 1.50 kernel

Because we all know everyone has a 2GB stick like you Helooo. People can make up their own damn minds about whether they want to upgrade or not. Besides, compression can't be the reason for upgrading to this, as compression was introduced in the precious version. That was OE-A not this one (OE-A')

Yes it can run ISO/CSO without devhook, just like 3.02 OE and 2.71 SE before that.

yes PSP User, you are missing something :P Hold R when turning your psp on. You will see the option in the recovery menu that comes up.

Recovery is installed on the flash! Hold R when turning on PSP to get to it. Then place everything in the 303oeflasher folder including the DXAR file into the PSP/GAME/RECOVERY directory on your memory stick.
Because its a CSO. It takes a lot more processor power to decompress the CSO on the fly. Being a game that stream loads constantly the cpu can't keep up, even at 333MHz. If you run it as an ISO you will notice a difference between 222 and 333.

i am currently using 3.03 oe-a' and for some strange reason when i play a game and exit my background resets and if i set my wallpaper and then turn off my psp and then turn it back on my wallpaper turns black can someone please help me thanks = )

use the version changer and remove the ' on the end of the version number and xFlash will work again :)

hold down the R key while starting your PSP and go to the CPU speed option.
go to the recovery by holding down the R key while starting ur PSP. Click registry hacks and click on the first option.

I am having a problem with my wallpaper everytime i play a game and exit the wallpaper reverts to default. I read somewhere that it is because the flash1 doesnt have a vsh directory however i have no idea how to create or copy a vsh directory into the flash1 sorry if this may seem annoying but im getting really frustrated thanks a lot

What do you mean right speaker? Are you talking about headphones, b/c if so, that's probably just your headphones screwed up and not the psp. Put the right headphone on your lips and blow in it and suck out of it a couple times. You'll hear and feel a click when doing this.

yes, they should rather be custom upgraders... My guess is it is hard to make recovery menues, and installing a cf from such unstable hacks as the tiff exploits could be quite dangerous

I upgraded straight from my 3.02 oe-b, it didn't brick the psp but now it doesn't read isos and crashes when I try to use internet browser, now tryin' to fix it...

I did many test conversions for final fantasy 7 and Im convinced that popstation is the problem. Even when converting to "0" compression, the game still glitches during battles. I wrote Dark_AleX and am eagerly awaiting his reply. Hopefully Soon.

Clone CD will create a .img which will work fine. DAX just means "Dark AleX" and is not a file type as far as I know.

Tools Needed *PSP FILER 2.5 *DEVHOOK WLAN PRX 333MHZ (link to file) http://www.psp-haxors.com/category/devhook (look for title that says DevHook v0.51.0100 WiFi 333 MHz FW 3.02 fix Directions *Download DevHook 333MHz WiFi fix and psp filer 2.5 *Place psp filer 2.5 in the game150 folder (or game) *place the wlan.prx from the DevHook 333MHz WiFi fix in the psp's root directorey *run psp filer 2.5 *press select, then O to make your language english (if you haven't already) *press x to close the help menu *go down to the file that says wlan.prx *press x *press O to copy file to the RAMDISK *press start once to enter flash0 (twice if you have a UMD in the drive) *press L + LEFT ARROW + R *open up kd by pressing circle on it *go down to wlan.prx *press X then /\ (triangle) to paste the wlan.prx (it will show you a message comfirming the overwrite. Just press O when it does *then go down to kn and press O to open it *go down to wlan.prx *press X on it then /\ to past the file (again press circle when you get a confirmation message) *now exit by pressing select and start together *your games should now work fine when you overclock to 333MHz and use Wi-Fi TESTED BY ME, THE BORICUA KING, WITH IRSMP3.prx plugin on VSH using the web browser. I was playing metal gear solid on my psp (dax made this possible) when i realize how am i going to beat that psychic guy if i cant change my controller to controller port 2? can anyone give me some advice? i beat the game back on the ps1 but it was easier since i can switch. Anyways i think any update by dax is worth updating.
I beat that game on the PC... no 2nd port here so unless they made the pc keyboard like the 2nd port in the ps1 you should be able to beat that guy
i tried but every shot he is able to avoid because he is able to predict my shots and moves. unless there is another way. But then again did you beat mgs for pc or a beat it on a pc using a pc emulator? cuz i think there is a pc version to this game and if so im sure konami knew they would run into this problem so they might of just taken it off. By the way im curious if sony will discontinue their improvement of their emulator since no one will really buy games anymore. Like me i have a whole collection of ps1 games (i knew they would come in handy some day). But i hope that they keep improving their emulator cuz it needs some improvements although most games run alright.

why would you bother with devhook in the first place to overclock to 333mhz, when you could use cwcheat and change your clockspeed whenever you feel like it, even in the middle of the game, by just pressing select, which is good cuz if you want to go online and overclock, you could easily "downclock to 222mhz" then go online...
on most homebrew apps and custom firmwares, when over 222(cpu)/111(fsb) cant go online or play multiplayer, tho i havent tested playing multiplayer w. two players both overclocked...
its not necessarily illegal, cuz if it was the sites wouldnt exist, its the fact that you can download them legally if you "legally" own the game, which yes, it is stupid but hey...
is 3.03oe-a runing cso images? and without umd? i ask that for a friend who have no umd, who's stucked at 2.71 se-b. at this stage he car run iso's with "no umd" trick, but he has a limited amount of games, since he cannot compress them to cso (2.71se-b doesn't support cso). if someone can help pls email me an answer at alooper21@yahoo.com, since this post might get lost among the other hundreds. thanx.

i Downloaded this file and attempted to extract it. when i go to extract it i get an erro that says header Corrupt.. i also downloaded devhook0.52 with psar dumper and it says the same thing could someone help i am new to this Stuff any help would be appreciated
PUT UR ISOS IN AN ISO FOLDER IN THE ROOT OF UR MEM. STICK now when ur on ur psp: go to ur "game" like u did when u wantd to start devhook, but now ur games are right there!!

i came across a problem when using PSX2PSP v.0.7.1. The problem is that i can compress isos and convert them to eboot form. This is great but when i load a pbp file and set the compression level to 9 it doesn't compress anything. I know its kinda dumb cuz after all it is iso compression and not pbp. I was wondering if its possible to compress the pbp files? If not then is their a way to convert them back to iso form so i can compress the isos?

Hey guys, From the minute i updated to 3.03 OE-A' i dont seem able to play ANY PS1 psx (popstation) games!!!! I upgraded from 1.5 to 3.02 OE-A and then immediately to 3.02 OE-B and i could play PS1 games. The next day I succesfully upgraded to 3.03 OE-A, however I did not test any PS1 games at that time. Only PSP isos that worked fine. During the same day I upgraded immediately to 3.03 OE-A' and sadly i cannot run ANY PS1 games. PSP isos are still fine though. Any ideas of what i need to do to run those PS1 games again please? Thanx in Advance. Tio

1:) Download this: http://rapidshare.com/files/10689568/3.03_OE-A-A_27_AutoInstaller.exe 2) Plug in your PSP USB AND AC 3) Wait untill you have 75% battery. 4) Run the downloaded soft on your pc. 5) Choose 1.5 recovery. 6) Choose your PSP's memstick drive. Ex. (F:) 7) Wait utill the files are done copying 8) Turn on the PSP keeping the R trigger pressed. 9) Choose "Run Program at" Option. 10) Wait untill it asks for a manual restart and do it. 11) After the phony logo a blue screen indicating corrupted data should appear ,press X or O . 12) You should be back to 1.5. I went back from 3.03 OE-A second revision with this method ,also did my friend 10 minutes ago. I heard you can recover semi bricked PSP's this way ,Not shure. P.S: Do some research and stop posting idiotic "OH MOMMY I DID POOPIE PSP IS A PRETTY BLACK BRICK NOW" posts ,dammit ,if one person states a problem there's no freaking need of 10 follow ups saying the same thing ,it makes things for everybody more difficult to research ,its annoying and most of all YOU ARE NOT HELPING.
Sorry , that was supposed to go in the main thread , someone with administrative privileges please move it. Also: For mp3 playback while playing games you can use IRShell 3.1 , you can even mute the audio channels you want keeping the sound but not the music so you can use your own mp3. Some games don't load whit music playing on the background and of course it takes up a little processing speed. I don't know of any avi players or plugins for the psp ,been converting my files to 768 kbps mp4's using WinAVI mp4 to psp converter 3.1 ,then naming and moving them automatically whit PSPVideoManager. If you want subtitles they have to be embedded on the file before you convert it to MP4 ,and then they can't be deactivated,

Educate yourself if you afraid of flashing. You should never be worried about flashing at all. Have you updated from an official sony update? Well news FLASH it just flashed your psp. Do they warn you of the dangers of flashing your psp? Hmmm probobly not as thuroughly as most downgraders do. Sony's works with only about 60% charge in the battery too. ( I suggest 75-100% ) If your not comfortable flashing your psp then you are an idiot with a risky piece of software. If your not then you obviously did your research on what it is and must have gotten it from a reliable source. If not your an idiot. btw to everyone 'waiting for a better version and holding on to their 1.5' your more outdated than my grandma's hairspray.

What gives. Before I did the 303. OE A2 upgrade, Devhook .52 use to work with 303. OE .. now it doesn't. Is this a deliberate attempt to make devhook work no more? OR Is it just a simple error in the error gode to A2.

People is update do OE-A' and i use the overclock option to the maximum(333MHz), but when im going to play in network mode (ex.: tekken) with my friend that he have psp... my psp that is overclok mode just give me an error and i cant play.... And to play in network mode i have do put default mode the overclock.... This happen with someone else?? Tanks and peace

i had a psp 1.5 but stupid me i updated it to 3.03 from the offecial website by mistake and i don't know if i can do anything about this, i mean a downgrade or something to recover my last version?! your help will be appreciated.
I installed 3.03 OE-A and when ever my psp come up to a loading screen (white screen with PSP) it freezes and crashes. I have re-installed 1.50 through recovery and everything works fine. I both manually installed the OE-A and used an installer. Is anyone having the same problem? And can anyone help me? Hi everyone, great to see the community still buzzing. Had some problems with DA's 3.03OE-A' running Metal Gear Solid Port OPS CSO, it just wont work. When i use DEVHOOK it works fine emulating 3.01. Anyone come across this issue?? Possible that 3.03 isnt working correctly??
