PSP - Image 1We'll keep this short and simple, folks. After releasing CFW 4.01 M33 yesterday, Dark AleX has followed things up with today's arrival of the 1.50 kernel add-on for 4.01 M33.

For those new to the whole PSP homebrew scene, the 1.50 kernel add-on essentially lets you run homebrew written for firmware 1.50. All you have to do to enable it is copy it to your PSP's memory stick and run it. More instructions can be found in the bundled readme notes.

Anyway, that's it. You can download the add-on below. To those who upgraded (or will be upgrading) to 4.01 M33, enjoy the new custom firmware.

Thanks to ISO-B for the tip!

I thought this can be installed in slim until they write "this is for standard psp".

It means only Phat can use this add-on kernel.

# yes!sergeidragunov 2008-06-29 01:00
it doesn't need to be in order anyway.. i installed 4.01 m33-2 first, then 150 addon..on prevous updates 3.90 m33 and 3.93cfw i first installed 1.50 addon before the m33-2/3.93-2. think about it...if it should be really in order then mr.dark-alex would included in the readme file before. anyway thanks mr. dark-alex! Im glad u bring to us 1.50 addon and so thankful because u are always there to power up our psp..thank you!

u must have 1.50.pbp and place it on the root of the memstick...u know wer the root is right? its the first window that pops up when u plug your psp unto a pc...place the folder 150k installer folder on psp/game/GAME4XX after that execute on xmb(home menu)

u took the long way..u formatted your psp. it's much more faster if u just rename the GAME390/393/395(depends on your current cfw) and reboot it.

you need the 1.5 firmware eboot. Name it 150.pbp and place it in the root of your memory stick.

Extract the 150k_installer to /psp/game OR /psp/game401 (don't just drag and drop it, it must be extracted inside of its folder so your mem card will look like

/psp/game/150k_installer/eeboot.pbp

plus 3 .prx files)

run the installer from your PSP PHAT and you're golden.

many of us have BOTH. Therefore if you ONLY have that slim (which I assume you do or you wouldn't be acting like an as*) I can do more than you can so don't try posting like your high and mighty.

For example: Contrary to what people seem to believe around here, there are programs for the 1.5 kernel that have not, and will not ever be ported to new kernels as the source is not available. I can also use versions of IRshell that *GASP* actually have something to do with IR! It's fun running around electronic sections and changing the channels ;)

# i'm on 3.02 oe-B, how do i install this?jmak0 2008-07-03 02:31
Its been ages since I installed a custom FW, I've downloaded the 401M332 rar and extracted, and the 150 kernel update, and also the 150.pbp and 401.pbp. I'm on a phat psp with 3.02oe-B, so the folders are GAME and GAME150 in the psp folder. Do i need an installer or something to install the new firmware? in the past I had to copy "302oeflasher" and "302oeflasher%" into either the "GAME150" folder, and run from the memory stick under XMB game menu.

i just found out how to get the installer to show up, put it into the GAME folder. but it says custom firmware 3.56 M33-3 or higher needed in order to run! i guess i'll have to update it a few times before going to ver. 4.01???

i crawled through countless forums and managed to find out how to do it - install CFW 3.52 M33, then update to M33-3, then install CFW4.01M332, then 1.50 update!
