Given that Cpasjuste's Custom Firmware Extender seems to be a big hit with the PSP community, we imagine that plenty will want to know about this quick update. The author has just announced that the homebrew's latest version (v1.4) is now under works, and that it'll be carrying a new feature: video capture.

Cpasjuste states that Custom Firmware Extender version 1.4 will now allow you to record videos of your favorite games and homebrews. To give you an idea of how that'll look, the coder was also kind enough to post a video demonstration:

For the guys tuning in for the first time, Cpasjuste's CFE is a set of plugins that adds extra functions to your PSP's CFW. The video capture demo posted above is its newest feature. We'll let you know if anything new turns up for CFE v1.4.  Until then, happy viewing!

Is that the actual quality? I wonder what the file size will be for typical-length videos... Oh well, this looks a lot better than the other "video record" plugin from that other guy, so yeah,.

And I wonder how he is playing. I mean, the other Video Capture plugin dies 10 images per second (customizeable, but..), and taking a snapshot is slow. So I can't imagine playing Burnout and capturing it.

I will only believe this when I have it on my PSP. :)

Which game is better? I have Legend because Gamespot rated it better than Dominator but the graphics in Dominator based on this video looks much better than Legend.

And there's no sound still. But if they recorded a video that long it must be easy to see it as well. Maybe it uses USB or something...
