Great news guys! For those who are still having issues with the latest custom firmware 5.50GEN update, Yoshihiro and and the rest of Team Gen will release a quick updater for 5.50GEN-D. This update will fix various problems encountered by some users like online issues, video output on some games and the recovery menu.

Fix Wlan TKIP in game loop : PES 2009 , FIFA , Motorstorm , GTA CW ect....
Fix Video Output With 5.5X and 6.X Games like GTA Chinatowns War

Like playing the old Demo of NoGravity, which requires 1.50 Kernel...

PLus, one thing that can make GEN better than M33 is if they make it capable of connecting to WPA2-AES, cause i need that capability!!!

I don't seem to have a problem connecting to WPA2-AES on Gen-D. Well so far no problems.

They really should fully test this type of releases before they even release it to make sure there are no problems and they wouldn't have to keep posting new fixes. I never had a problem with M33 with their releases or even see them make fixes unlike this.

But I definately give GEN props though for making things happen at the moment since M33 is absent at this time.

NO firmware/custom firmware can connect to WPA2. It's not supported.

You don't recall M33 making any fixes, huh? How do you think we get so many numbers after M33? i.e. 3.71 m33-4 (there were three previous 3.71 m33 firmwares), or 5.00 m33-6 (yep, there were 5 previous 5.00 m33 firmwares). The reason DAX kept updating a firmware version was to make fixes and implement new features (notice, I said make fixes).

5.00 M33-5 actually made everything stop working. Also the first version of fatmsmod did the same thing. Made it so pics/music/games didn't show up. People need to stop acting like GEN is sooo. Did you ever think that maybe the makers of GEN doesn't even have a WPA connection? ffs

The PSN store only worked for me when i just installed the 5.50 GEN-D because I wasn't signed in. When I signed in, then it asked for system update. +(

how about devoting such time to playing more current homebrew and games?

and if youre so dedicated to such old thing then by all means, never update you phat and most of all never whine coz psp homebrew devs are not in any way obligated to support any one of us.

i myself still uses some old psp home brew's but they somehow are compatible with 3.xx (my slim) and in any case i would totally stop using them in exchange for newer better homebrew and games, just like how i instantly changed my phat to slim on the very first week psp slim was released.

first of all Magixien is the one releasing the Gen's CFW not you or the real Yoshihiro. the real Yoshihiro only made eboot patchers, which are then licensed the code and or reversed engineer / by genyus team and included into newer gen cfw.

It's not fair for you to call them out on their preference for the stuff they want to run on their PSPs. That's their choice, to play what they want. In fact, they have been able to do so throughout M33, since 1.5 Kernel for Phats have always come out.

That's like saying "You guys shouldn't play Super Mario Bros. 3 because it's old and therefore bad"...despite being a totally good game. Totally unfair.

It is fair to ask that a 1.5 Kernel Add-on be made for GEN firmwares. Note, I said *ask*, not *demand*. And if it isn't made? That should be fine, there's not much new in 5.50 anyways, and PSN Access is still blocked.

yoshihiro now programs for the gen, but he still isnt the releaser of the cfw.

for example i make music mixes for group, still i never distribute, that's the role of someone else on the group, i only pass my work on him/her. that's the same idea im applying on Genyus team.

yoshihiro is not in charge of gen cfw distribution.

anyways lame argument, still didnt make me believe he is the real yoshihiro, maybe if he answers me in japanese i will rest my case.

this problem is fixable, stay with the cfw with 1.5 kernel of your choice on your phat and buy another psp for the latest homebrew demo whatever.

im kinda harsh there, sorry! but 1.5 kernel users have options which they simply chose not to or cannot be cause of money or other problems.

and they will be bugging these great psp coders to make 1.5 kernel for them instead of the devs devoting their time on something everyone can benefit. isnt it what we can call "selfish" to ask such a thing and deprive others of the limited coding time these psp devs have?

M33 is the best. I've been using 5.50GEN-B, and I recently upgraded to D, but the result was catastrophic. My slim crashes once every four times I try to do something with it. So I screwed GEN-D and went back to 5.00M33-6.

But still, not having 5.55+ game support sucks :(

I'll try D2 out and see if it's stable enough.

Have you ever heard of PATCHING?

and @ GEN team...Add MS Speedup or fatmsmod (or both lol) and i will try out your new firmware but the speed I was getting from B2 (1.5 mbps transfers) was just too low...Fix that and I will be happy to upgrade as it looks like all the other bugs have been or are about to be fixed.

But I can't be bothered to patch all of my 5.55+ games, cause I'm still happy with my older titles. Yes, I'm that lazy.

I'm just waiting for Persona 3 Portable to hit the shelves next sunday. Maybe then I'll either upgrade to GEN or just patch the ISO(Assuming that it works, of course).

since i have been using cfw on my phat psp way before like 90% of the people here and i know that it is really !@#$ing annoying not having 1.50 support since 5.00M33 and the only incentive to upgrade is access to the psn network. The biggest thing for me is not being able to use psp filer which is about the most useful app on the psp.

i wish sony would stop being a ***** and have no restrictions like back in the 2.70 OE CFW days

GEN Firmwares are so unstable, many of my games crash when I go on wi-fi and all ctf themes don't work when I update from GEN-A to any other GEN firmware. If the ctf themes do end up working it results in the games not working.

This is about how I trusted someone called %u201Cmiriam%u201D and I gave him a kernel exploit of C+D, which was found by joek (the ONLY ONE that deserves credit of that), just to play for HIMSELF, as it is being used to decrypt 3k modules, but the first thing he did was to show to others to get a bit of fame.

Now I realize not to trust anyone anymore, thanks.

Later on, Alek the webmaster of the whole Dark-alex.org network posted a blog entry following up on DAX%u2019s claim:

We all saw funny things about him, even one stupid comparision within it%u2019s name (sort of MIR + GOD, I am + I am, lolz!)

IT WAS F*UCKING TT FILES. It was a cfw theme that was already loaded onto the cfw when installed. PSP600hax only destroyed the account because there tired of people b*itching on the "phat" version of the cfw. If you really wanted slim, ill give it to you.

UMD ISO MODE set to "M33 driver" and I also tried "Enabling and Disabling" Plain modules in "UMD/ISO & Execute BOOT.BIN in UMD/ISO"

Please help :-(
