Ó
Custom Firmware 5.50GEN-D is indeed complete and if everything goes on as planned, it will be released tomorrow, 21st October 2009, around 8 pm (French Time).
The latest update will include:
- All features of 5.50GEN-B2 are available.
- Compatibility with games requiring firmware 5.51 with no additional handling (now, you don't need Game Decrypter)
- Compatibility with most of games normally protected and refusing to be ran on a Custom Firmware (Full Metal Alchemist, Soul Calibur, etc). Yoshihiro has created a system to run them and he succeed to make this system more stable and it's now compatible with all PSP, unlike the 5.50 GEN-C.
- Possibility to connect at the Playstation Store via MEDIAGO, to retrieve game and goodies without having to install Fake USB or other complicated stuff.

I know that we all love DA's works, I mean who doesn't? But let's be thankful to GEN for their efforts at least. And hope that this new update will solve the issues of the previous one.

the only game i'm really looking forwards to is phantasy star portable 2..
and i heard somewhere that CFW = no infrastructure mode.
I hope that's a lie. and psp2 will have infrastructure mode which is amazing.

I've herd some wierd n00b stuff before, I mean I use to mod a PSP site for about a year and yet, i can say that is the dumbest question I've ever seen.
Out of like the 2,000+ (the real number being much higher) questions I've answered I've never read a question that....LOL im done lmfao....

No... you can't use infrastructure mode with a hacked psp. Just like you can't play online with a hacked version of a PC game, or xbox game, or ps2 game, or dreamcast, or wii...

anyway,GEN's getting the same flak DA got when he left a bug in CFW, how many bricks did DA make before we got recovery mode u reckon?
its called progression &if you dont have positive feedback you got slow progression....now if u chimp ass fanboys cant understand that then u just gotta GROW UP a lil and youll see ;/

He has left a huge body of work and made the PSP into a great handheld with all the homebrew developed for it, so he has my eternal thanks!
GEN are a capable crew with a friendly positive attitude so lets all hope they continue being interested in the PSP and PSP2 when it arrives (!)

I was using it for NES and SNES emulators, but guess we don't need it for SNES now.

All my other games like Killzone: Liberation (best PSP game ever) and Starwars BF2 work online.

I'll wait for a few days and read some comments once this is actually released, then I will decide if its really worth it to upgrade, since GEN cant do anything I cant do already...Just wait and see i guess...

After this GEN-D is released, the Gen team are going to tackle the problem with the PSN not connecting, also this release is going to work with all games released so far (.iso/.cso / UMD's) you name it, and WPA connecting with the internet PSP browser, AVC playback has been corrected, if they include a memorystick speedup as well, then to me its perfect, so people you have no reason to whine, anymore.
The Gen team said sorry to all of us, for the last release, being buggy, i for one will be looking forward to this update.
My thanks go out to the Gen Team for there continuing efforts.
