Team M33 does service to the homebrew scene once more as it just released a new build for its custom firmware, completely cracking Sony's official PSP FW 3.52. Aside from the improvements that come with CFW 3.52 M33, all features from previous releases have been incorporated as well. We know you just can't wait to see the latest development for yourselves but before you do, here's the complete changelog for the new custom firmware:
- Now uses 3.52!!!
- M33 NO-UMD: fixed problem with Simple 2500 Series Portable, The IQ Cube
- Fix a bug which made Go!Cam, GPS and sceKernelLoadExecVSH* not work in game mode.
- PSN downloaded PSX games support wasn't working in 3.51 M33 (didn't work in latest OE's either). Now it is working again. If an original PSN game still doesn't work, we recommend to delete files KEYS.BIN if exists, and copy the game again from PS3 to PSP.
A lot of QJ.NET loyal readers sent us tip regarding this one. And by saying a lot, we really mean a lot. Thanks for the heads up everyone!

I am still going to stay at 3.40 OE-A. I do not need to update because I can do everything I want to on it and I do not have any 3.50 UMD's so I am happy. I also want to see if Dark_Alex might come back. He is the only one I really trust.

M33 FW is just as good if not better than OE firmware in every way,...so I see no reason why NOT to update ;) Just do it, you won't regret it. Besides, DA is dead (homebrew wise), he's not coming back.

Since I updated to M33 CFWs, all text input on my PSP doesnt work. I cant enter a web url, rename my system, enter info for a wifi connection, or anything that requires text input, it locks up and resets. Everything else is perfect, and this version _does_not_ fix this problem.
Don't buy them, they suck. Ok, I bought those pills and you know what was the result? My ***** went from 7.2 inches to 7.6 inches only!!! They suck, and they also gave me diahreah for like 2 weeks!!!! ***** this pills and never buy them!!!

This is a good firmware. I've changed my mind about Team M33. This is a stable release and everything works. I even flashed in a custom font and background and sounds.... Pretty much you can do all customizations other than that require editing PRXs. PSX compatibility is increased and also FINALLY my Brightness Problems because of corrupted keys are now FIXED =) Thanks a lot Team M33. Good work.

Sorry to disturb you guys, but I had a problem understanding their direction for upgrading to their firmware. Gotta be careful before doing things like this, know what I mean. So I'm using 3.03 OE-C, and was wondering if I could upgrade to 3.52 m33 without downgrading to 1.50....process is just too tedious.
im still on firmware 3.40 OE-A... to update to 3.52 M33 I need to be on 3.51 M33 or I can from 3.40 OE-A? & 3.52 M33 have all the bugs of 3.51 M33 fixed???

is because most of the ones he worked on went up .10 meaning they usally had to get a new decrypter. then he would take maybe 5 days exept for on 3.50 everything was canged so he couldnt do it befor he left

i found some bugs. i cant go into my photos. when i go to my photos, my psp just freezes and resets. Also, i cant even access my usb through the xmb. my custom icons dont work, however everything else part of the xmb works fine. screw this im going back to 3.03 OE-C

Don't know if this is a bug, but it appears that after the firmware upgrade I'm unable to run any of my ISOs and CSOs anymore. When I accessed them, it just locks up into a black screen. Would someone please advice? I've not changed any setting since the upgrade and everything works fine back when I was using 3.51 M33-7. I've tried downgrading but to no avail. Please help!

I just updated to this FW, and I was playing FF7 when suddenly graphics looked awful and corrupt... I went back to 3.40 OE-A, played FF7 again and it was ok. For me this fw didn't work totally good, other features in this fw were ok. Regards.
3.40 sucks, 3.52 M33 has 1. 100% no umd mode 2. Faster 3. Everything 3.40 OE has and more 7. Play games requiring up to 3.52 nothing to lose in upgrading only stuff to gain also dax is gone so no more updates for OE
They didn't fix the FF7 green static thingy! I was just playing it and after the battle is done the whole area gets messed up! It's not entirely fixed. And some of my iso's that worked with DAX's CFW don't work with this one.
the no umd mode doesn't work 100%. My iso's that played in 3.40 oe don't work in this one.
Does anyone know if there are any decent N64 or PSX emulators for the PSP yet? If seen a couple, but they dont seem like there are up to speed yet. Also, is there any way to obtain PS1 games besides using a PS3?

Tried it. Worked like a charm. Fixed a few bugs I had with Alien Resurrection. No UMD support is good. I'll enjoy using this for a long time to come.
i update 2 the M33 352 just now but .. i cnt seem 2 get my tekken dark resurrection 2 wrk but its on a old psp from sept 05 second day out but my sister got TA-82 verson and wks so can i hav some help plz thx guys...
Download an iso ripper to convert the PS1 discs to a .bin file. Convert that file to an eboot using popstation. There are many GUI programs that make it easier. PSPs using firmware 3.02 and up can play PS1 games. Deadalus is a great N64 emulator but doesn't play too many roms yet, but PSPs using official sony firmware can't run it so you need custom firmware. I'm not going to explain everything unless you pay me.

I certainly buy my games, gives the game developers a reason to keep going, and running em in no-umd mode makes it so I can save battery life while getting fast load times.
I agree with you, I only updated cause on 3.40 oe-a I was having some no umd problems(just wasn't working period, not sure why). M33 seemed to have solved my problem. if it weren't for that I wouldn't have updated.

seen a few others posted this problem. 1. connect the psp to your pc/laptop via the usb cable. 2. enter the recovery mode on the psp. 3. enter advanced. 4. select "Toggle USB (flash1)". 5. on your pc/laptop, open "my computer" and open the psp's mem card. 6. look in the folders for the file "config.se", then delete it. 7. on the psp, select back, then exit this seemed to be a problem in 3.40 OE-A. found this help on pspcrazy

maybe topmenuplugin.rco, but not much else unless you specifically used decrypted rco's from 3.52
to make it legal the official firmware could still be downloaded from sony then merged with 1.5 and then installed. it would be a few dozen lines of code in the processing section of the update icon action.
Douchebag, all that does is kill any functionality the CFW has. Only do this if you want to reinstall your CFW
chillout dude!! all that does is clear the recovery mode settings. Just go back in and redo all your setting and you will see that everything will work again

I read someware in this thread that you have to delete a certain file. This file resets your config.
do you have popsloader turned on? If it is, disable it and it should work. Popsloader doesnt work with this, which is one reason i went back to 3.40oe-a.

I followed all DA's works and currently using 3.30 OE-A. I didn't installed 3.51 M33 on my PSP as I wanted to see first the feedback from users. Now that I see this is a real deal, I want to install. Yeah, happenned to me in 3.4 OE, what I did to fix that porblem is reformatting flash1 (which you cand do with a program in this site, think it was called flas1 reformatter lol).

DOA - You must have been DOA when you where born, and they didn't bother to revive you, because deleting config.se is exactly what you need to do. Do this INSTEAD of reinstalling the firmware which won't even fix the problem.

What if he had read what you said and Perm-bricked? Did you install custom tops? it requires flashing another file back to your system that got corrupted in the install. check the forums not the blogs, for your answers.

could the 3.40 recovery folder be use on 5.51/3.52 M33 to recover back to 1.50 firmware?

Lol M33 is indeed fast. But DAX was fast too. I don't see the nice features of M33 now. Dax implemented them like 4th brightness mode etc etc. I want to see gimmicks on CFW's not stealing of DAX's code and implementing new FW's. I'm staying at 3.10OE-A'. No need to update.

he was only one guy, and M33 are a team of course they are faster but well... there are a lot of fixes to do im keeping 3.40oe-a until it is absolutely necessary to update
I had this working just fine until today. I tried to install that Joysens 1.01 for my analog stick and now when I go to a iso file (That worked yesterday just fine) and click on it my screen goes black. I can't hit the home button to get out of it i have to force quit out to get back to the main menu. I was about to use the recovery and go back to 1.50 and reinstall it. anyone else have this black screen when you try to use a iso.
same thing happened to me. It was working fine yesterday. I was just playing GTA on it and turned it off and today its doing the same thing you got going on.

you need to be running custom firmware or 1.50 NOT original sony firmware

i'm getting the same problem.. when i run any psp iso it says "error (80020148)" does anyone know what that means? btw i tried renaming them smalled if that's what u meant and it still doesn't work. what should i do?

The best custom firmmware! Its fine, but check out because ive heard it gives problems to the wifi strength on some motherboards. :=)

does installing the new cfw 3.52 from m33 will make me able to change my psp's fw back to the factory 1.5, kinda like how devhook works when you escape their program the psp goes back to its original 1.5 fw? thanks guys been out of the homebrew scene for awhile
