CFW 3.51 M33 update: WLAN fix |

If you installed CFW 3.51 M33 on your PSP, you may have noticed that the Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) features weren't working on homebrew programs. The M33 team were made aware of this and rolled out a fix.Apparently, the problem was caused by Sony's 3.51 wlan.prx code and not by M33 code. The 3.51 wlan.prx reportedly affected the 1.50 wlan.prx, stopping WLAN-based homebrew from working. As proof of this, they pointed out that the 3.40 wlan.prx did not have the same problem.

how exactly do i install this patch? I just got an EBOOT.PBP file...
Put it in the PSP/Game folder and run from menu
just run it trough your XMB if you're on 3.51 m33
Take the folder with the EBOOT inside it and put it in /PSP/GAME150/ - then run the Update from the XMB.
Dead simple, really ...
well thats one problem fixed with the m33.
However, im having some theme problems on this firmware. could you look into that next?

good to see some improvements being made and i got a blue screen of death when setting up my remote play but after reseting the settings it was fine
it doesnt show up in my xmb any thoughts?
this is now the number one firmware in my opinion anyway
gotta say 3.51 XR is looking good too when it comes out but we'll see
By the sounds of it, XR isn't coming out anymore... I like this firmware perfectly anyways, basically the same thing that DA would have come out with, which is all I need...while the XR was just adding a bunch of little things that can be done with plugins and other programs already.
1. Download the EBOOT.PBP
2. Go to "USB Connection".
3. Create a FOLDER (u can name e.g WLANFIX) in PSP/GAME150.
4. Put the downloaded EBOOT.PBP in that folder u created in step 3.
5. Exit USB connection.
6. Go to GAME, and run the M33UPDATE.
7. Press "X" when prompted.
8. Switch off your PSP after the update.
9. Turn your PSP back on and the wlan fix is already patched.

F*** XR firmware pj isnt going to come out of the closet RUSSIAN coders for life
very easy to install. its clean and simple. just make a folder in your Game150 folder called WLANFix and throw the eboot in there, then run the update from the MS in the XMB. Very easy.
For some reason bootsounds don't work for me now after this patch (neither original or cutom).
I fixed it, seems that recovery settings came back to default after patching and if psp logo is skipped then the boot sound sin't booted

m33 3.51 ups pops compatabily with psx. I can play ff7 with no battle glich
Hey Random_Guy i got the Blue screen of death and thought i bricked but then after i got it and now remote play over the internet works like a charm.

I hope these guys will add a feature to allow us to underclock the XMB rather than have it on Default or Overclock.

cfw my ass..... hardly any of the themes for xmb are working and i cant even get to saved data without it freezing up... nice try guys but im stickin with the older ***** for now

you gotta setup your remote play again and when you do you'll get the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH but after that the settings get reset you then just gotta try setting up remote play again and it works! WOOT!
you guys sure do complain alot for something that is free and doing you a favor. These guys didnt have to release this stuff but everyone has something negitive to say. If it has bugs then dont download it. Stay with 3.40 and when GOW comes out and you need 3.51 then you'll just have to sit there and wish you updated cause you can't play it. Just thank the guys that made this and be happy.

I think this fix flashes a config se file again you need to delete it if you don't want you config to be all messed up
I did it and everything, but I'm still getting a communication error and some numbers.

No we're not, it's just a couple douche's from else where.
This is why most people discuss on the forums, where you can actually ban the douches.
Do not bite the hand that feeds you. For the simple minded I'll explain: all these dev/mods etc work hard on stuff that is for us, and for free. They don't haveto and sure as hell aren't obliged to, so when someone does have the generousity to give us access to their work either show some gratitude, or if you dont like it you dont need to say anything at all. If i gave you a FREE pizza that didnt have the toppings you liked would you chuck it in my face, or say thankyou and just not eat it? (btw if your answer is that you would chuck it in my face, i think you need counselling). I thank all the people in the psp scene, whether i love or hate their work, its the effort they put into what they create that counts.
On a side note, the wlan fix doesnt work for me, tells me ive already done it, prob all the custom modding ive done. A full reflash of M33 would prob fix it, maybe later ^^
I've applied this fix, and none of my net-enabled homebrew applications are working - AFKIM in particular. I even redownloaded it and ran it again to make sure, and it told me the fix had already been applied. Is there something that I'm doing wrong, or what? This is a serious problem.
I read on Maxconsole forum that only rtc.prx and recovery.prx are flashed, which would effect the config file i presume. But doesnt actually replace it. Also for those that cant get it working, some have said to use the unencrypted 3.40OE wlan.prx. Untested personally.
hey i wana go back to 3.40 but when i run the 3.40 oe-a update maker it says opening the 150.pbp file, then it says cant open iunno why its doing that. is there anyway to go back to 3.40 from 3.51 m33

then run recovery mode to back to 1.5 and then you can update to 3.40 oe-a
after installing 351m33, am unable to enter configuration at the recovery mode. anyone know how to solve this issue.

& I bought the PSP keybaord (PIKEY) psp keybaord works with 3.51 M33 if not its not worth update cos i buy the keybaord with money... but who made the pikey can make a version compatible with 3.51 M33 im sure of it!

I've used only the initial m33 custom firmware, backed-up then reformatted my MS, also RESET settings back to default.
Admittedly, I don't use any LAN settings or anything else.
I've been in PSP homebrew only eight or nine months, but I made sure I read things properly every time I've updated to various custom firmwares.
This is actually quite a good custom firmware for the non TA-082 mb's, so figure some complaints on it come from things related to the more difficult MB's, programs that need a bit of updating to the newer custom firmware to make compatible, or something similar.
Then there's people trying to do things without knowing really the full steps to do it. Like the person wanting to go back to firmware 3.40...question...DID you go back to 1.50 FIRST before doing the 3.40 setup? Doesn't necessarily work if you try to go back from m33 directly to 3.40.
Technically, I'm still a newbie...but I read as much as I could before doing anything with the custom firmwares...you do that, you don't embarrass yourself.
We needed these Russian coders, and I agree they've done us a good turn. Prior to them, I was wondering how we'd all do without DA. They don't mind bug reports but lay off the crappier comments. They HAVE taken us further as we needed.
Anyone get the problem where a game can't recognize your saved data?
It happened to me in FFVIII. After updating from 3.40 OE-A to 3.51 M33, my saved data in FFVIII disappeared. However, it's still on my memory stick.
