first of all, I respect people who bring out homebrew etc, but since we got 3.03OE-C why should I update to this fw? Can somebody give me an explanation

You never know if becus will discover something that D_A has been missing, or if with a bit more work put into it becus' FW will rival or even beat the OE's. That might be getting ahead of myself, but all great journeys start with a single step.

I won't be messing around with it right now, but probably during the next 2 - 3 weeks I'll give it a go, not that I have any problems with OE.

I'm loving the dual recovery menus, makes it safer to mess with flash and stuff.

download 1.5 eboot.pbp and rename it to update.pbp

in any of the SE or OE dark alex custom firmware packs there should be a recovery folder

put the recovery folder on memstick in ms0/psp/game/

then put the update.pbp into the recovery folder

I see both sides of the coin... If someone else is doing custom firmwares then it only inspires both parties to try harder at making even better firmware... true, it will take along time for anyone to become as great as D_A. They maynot, but D_A doesn't know coding better than anyone else that may be out there. I doubt we will see anything significant anytime soon but hey, I'm cool with another custom firmware choice (though I admit, I wont be using this D_A has made me to happy to even try anything else) I think the only way another custom firmware will grap our attentions is to have real customizations included. D_A's custom firmware is mainly how sony wants it to look and unlocking some of the features we want.... if another coder made custom firmware with new XMB and such included.... that would be neat. Less risk to us in bricking if everything we like is already in the installation. (am I wrong about that?) Anyways, glad to see someone else step up to the plate and try. .:JimmyD:.
