3.40* LE PSP Custom Firmware v2 (Team Wildcard) |

Thanks to a tip from wwwqwerty, we found out that Team Wildcard has released an update to its 3.40 LE firmware. The update is a patch that fixes some issues with the initial release of the custom firmware. Here are the fixes for this version of 3.40* LE v2:
- Removed non-functional File Manager option in the Recovery menu
- In recovery, detects ms0:/PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP and only launches it if it exists
- Fixed problems that kept UMDs from loading properly
- Added support for %__SCE__/__SCE__ homebrew naming style
- Re-enabled the use of GAME150 and GAME340, though you *DO NOT* need them.

This is by far the best Custom Firmware the Homebrew scene has had yet. Keep it up, its time we got rid of M33 for good. lol
has anyone confirmed whether the firmware really works like in the video? sounds to me like too good to be true though.....

This firmware is bad, why did they not make it perfect when they first released it? Oh, that's right...people only say that about M33 firmware...but M33 only released patches that made ISO loading better. Sorry, but M33 is still the best.

I agree DevilGun, No need to flame people whoa re trying to make a good custom firmware. This looks pretty cool, I was considering downgrading my m33 3.52 to test some homebrew on this version, see if it works better or not. Either way, M33 and WildC*rd are working wonders for us all in the psp homebrew scene, keep it up you 2!

I agree the whole flaming which cfw is better is stupid, but I'd like to throw a bit of an intelligent argument into the mix.
I have never been able to run m33's cfw of any version successfully without debilitating bugs, such as the vsh constantly crashing, or instant crash upon attempt to use the web browser or load a backup iso, etc.
Wildcard's cfw has worked just as well as anything DAX has ever released. I'm glad someone who is capable of building something stable has come up.
I don't mean to say m33 sucks, but they need to work on some stability issues.

If your VSH crashed, you used wrong Themes.....

we are not aiming for competition in any way, shape or form with other teams. m33 havedone an amazing job with their cfw, ours is just an alternative.
for all those still questioning why there are bugs (well nowthere are less lol)and why it's only 3.40; the simple reason is because our unfinished project's sources got leaked. we never planned on releasing a 3.40 version, we just reversed the 3.40OE to understand how everything worked to later implement the patches on 3.52
unfortunately our work got stolen and the best way to counter the site who leaked everything was to release the 3.40 version "officially" to stop people going to their site. there is a 3.52* version in the works, work was already well underway on it before all this crap happened. someday it may be released but for now we're taking a bit of a break to settle somewhere 100% ***** safe.

They wouldve gotten it right the first time if they werent forced to release it because of some lamers who leaked it. They were planning on releasing it once it was fixed with no bugs what so ever.
im glad i waited and didnt install m33 yet. if LE 3.52 turns out to be better than m33 than i'll def be installing it.
When your VSH crashes, you made something wrong. On thousands of other PSPs it works just fine so it's your fault. Don't blame M33's Firmware for this.
they had to release it cause some f@g hacked their account and stole their work... thus it wasn't complete. They were working on 3.52 but cause of this guy they might never complete it, which is a shame cause i think this firmware is awesome!!!
M33 is good, they have better ISO/CSO loading drivers, but... still have some problems, I was on M33 5.2fw and I was playin Burnout Dominator, sometimes my psp frized while i was in the middle of a race, I let that thing happen three times till I decided to go back to 3.4 OE-A, I personally dont like having a firmware that frizes my psp God!!

M33 Sucks they just give out patch after patch after patch this is an official release only because their source code got leaked. This team should be the next big thing i cant wait for M33 to fizzle out they Suck.

They should work together and make some more cool things like pimp'n the FlashPLayer or making a better ingame mp3 player (with folder access and working in psx and homebrew)

I have the mp3-plugin running on my psp, and if I hear to music and stop it again and then opening the CF menu and closing again, the music starts to play... not really bad but it is a bug ^^
That's odd, I have M33 5.2 as well, I've been playing Burnout Dominator for hours and it hasn't freezed yet. It's probably your psp that's burnout...

ive been using m33 3.52 with no issues playing games or using apps or anything that i can think of.
I'll try this groups FW in the future.

Finally, somebody OTHER than M33 has come out with a CFW. Props to becus25, though, for stepping up and taking charge when most of us were standing around scratching our heads. I was so shocked at how smug and *****y M33 was about being the only team that's allowed to (essentially) steal DAX's work that I decided to NEVER use their CFW. I can't believe in a community where we take so much pride in working together that everybody applauds M33 for being the MicroSoft of the homebrew scene. It's only a matter of time before they start charging, mark my words...

I still use 3.40 OE but both these teams sound good so i might try them later.....
