Tips and tricks for your PSP GPS receiver |
Ó
Do you own a PSP and one of those new-fangled GPS receivers? Having trouble getting it to work? Want to increase the performance of your PSP-290 without messing around with the actual unit? You're in luck! Over at DCEmu, Deniska has posted a new set of tips and tricks that should aid you in getting a better GPS experience. Deniska's tips and tricks for the GPS receiver acts a bit like a compilation of different reports as to what will make the PSP-290 work better. Some of them make sense, such as lessening electromagnetic interference by lowering the CPU frequency of your PSP. Others, such as the act of shielding your PSP with aluminum foil, seem to come straight out of science fiction books.
Still, most of the knowledge imparted in the tips or tricks involve things every PSP owner can do, with or without technical experience. Try them out, see what works for you, and let us know if covering your PlayStation Portable in aluminum foil actually does something, alright?

Hahaha, well that SF book you read is actually very right! I study electronical engineering and I've got to shield my project with aluminium foil agains te FM station on the roof of our building. And I can garantee you it'll work! (cage of Faraday anyone..)
this sounds like some ***** my dad would do just to save a couple of bucks insted of buyin a navman.
Map This! is awesome, just bought a PSP-290 GPS on eBay because it works so well. Map This! is for sure one of the top homebrew apps out there, very well thought out and compiled.
Deniska you rock!
(And everyone else who contributes to the projects)
