Whoever said that gamers are crass has unfortunately not laid eyes on this chic and savvy line of PlayStation Signature products. This posh black and white collection, obviously intended for a much more mature audience armed with a hefty paycheck include a remote control with headphones ($115), PSP Stand ($20), PSP Pouch ($71), Wrist Watch ($649), Wallet ($37), Knitted Crew Neck Shirt ($133), Wine Glass ($18), Cork Screw ($37), Photo Frame ($31), Leather Notebook Cover ($178), Ballpens ($23) and Emilio Pucci PSP Case ($300).

half that stuff has NOTHIGN to do with playstation or gaming whatsoever! I woudlnt buy wine glasses with the playstation symbols on them, and that watch looks nice, but they didnt even attempt to put the logo on their (mayeb thats good) prolly engrave in the back tho.

I wouldnt mind gettign one of those stands, it looks nice, but for $20? I can make one for less.

Well the 2 that i would be interested in is the psp stand if it was only half price, and the case, which looks nice in terms of functionalilty( has all the cut outs) but $300? What are they smoking. Maybe more like $20-30, and for really high end then $40-$50

But then again I dont think this is for the mass market. Thier more like collector items, and those go for any price :)

Sony are trying to make the PlayStation brand a fasion accessory by making the prices of branded products unreasonably high, thinking that the higher the price, the more stylish it becomes, but then again who wants a PlayStation wine glass? Its stupid but i guess the stuff is collectable, and will probably be worth alot more in the future.

Of course it's out of most people's price range. It's essentially stuff rich idiots buy to impress other rich idiots. (The watch is about where other kinds of watches with that kind of design principle place in the market, actually, and the stand might actually be, you know, worth it.)

As for the last picture, it's not so much a lounge as it is a boutique.

How do I feel about this? I'm actually pretty okay with it, and here's why:

The more rich people buy into it, the more rich people (and their friends, often powerful people) get into it. You get rich and powerful people to care about something, and they will have -and use- the influence necessary to counter stupid people like the Oklahoma Legislature and Jack Thompson when they do stupid stuff and other uninformed legislators would otherwise -believe it-.

I have to admit that most of these items look very sleek and professional. They dont look Geeky. Sony are obviously trying to attract a mature audience with their high prices for PS3 and PSP items and their new sleek, simple designs.

To be honest, I buy into it because I dont want to look like a geek ^^ haha.
