Talkman to Hit Europe in May, Is America Next?

Ó

According to the French website GenerationMP3, the 'Euro' version of Talkman, a speech translator/game that utilizes a USB microphone attachment, is scheduled for release in May for PSP! Here's a (terribly) rough Google translation.

"We had already spoken you about the translator for the PSP allowing to translate the Japonais/Correan/ Chinois/Anglais languages and had named Talkman.  We have just learned that this accessory will be available on next 25 May to Japan in its version "Euro".  This one will make it possible to translate the French, the Spaniard, the Italian, the German, the English, and the Japanese!  With when the exit in Europe, because that can be very interesting...  To follow!"

The posted a 'read more' link to Sony's announcement page, and yes, it is in Japanese.
See it here.

Wait a sec - from what I get from the babelfish, this isn't being released in Europe, this is the Japanese release of the European language edition. The first edition was Japanese, English, Korean, and Chinese. This is English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Japanese. While it does suggest that the very same program could be released in Europe or America with effectively just a box redesign, it's still not looking like it's coming in May.

Of course "With when the exit in Europe, that can be very interesting...to follow!" could mean that the release is going to come in Europe closely thereafter.

# Talkman surveyGuest 2006-04-05 17:08
Sony sent out a G.A.P. survey about the Talkman, i think, sometime last month. i'd say that's more than enough confirmation it's coming out in the US. surprised no one picked up on it, or even sent in news about the survey.

"We have already told you about the translator for the PSP (talkman) that allows you to translate Japanese, Korean, Chinese and English and is called "Talkman". And we have come to learn that this accesory will be available the 25th of next May in a "Euro" version. This will allow you to translate French, Spanish, italian, german, english... and Japanese! It'll be very interesting when this comes out in Europe!

More Information"

Also, that's all the information that's there in the article. It doesn't give a release date for Europe, but the guy that wrote the article seems pretty confident it WILL come out. He said "When"(quand) not "If" (Si)

(Seriously, I'll work for homebrew.)

# Japan ReleaseTimale-Kun 2006-04-06 02:13
The 25th May is the Japan release of the "Euro" Version (diserve the first), the Europe Release will be the 9th June (If I remember well), btw it's odd that US does'nt get the initial release of Talkman cuz American english is Included instead of British english wich is included in the Euro Version...using google to translate french to english make it incomprehensibl e and vice versa^^...btw QJ.Net is a great website, your my main source for a French website^^

See u guys
