Sony reveals 16GB Memory Stick PRO Duo scheduled for March |
Ó
Like what some people anticipated, Sony has announced the 16GB Memory Stick PRO Duo with a US$ 300 price tag. Come March, it'll be available for all your storage needs. Yep, that means more space for homebrew and other media on the Sony PlayStation Portable.Back in February 2007, it was said that this version of the Memory Stick will be available this year. Considering how early the 16GB model will hit stores, it probably won't be too much of a dream to see 32GB Pro Duo sticks which are scheduled for 2009.
Without a doubt, owners of VAIO, Walkman, Cyber-shot, and other Sony products will also be delighted to have larger storage space. For us QJ.NET folks? That means more homebrew, of course!
Credit goes to SephXII for the nice tip.

Sony Memory stick pro duos arent used just for the PSP, there also used for Sony cameras, video cameras, and so on.
Its for the people that use the video cameras that like to tape people on camera.
Also PSP is a multi media device, so you can put music, movies, pictures, homebrew, ISO's, almost everything you want on it.
I remember 4 gigs coming out at 250 and it went down, then 8 gigs came out for 300 bucks, I call this pretty good because 8 gig came out at 300 dollars, when it was announced.
Also its good for the people that need a bigger memory stick pro duo cause when this hits the market, that means the 4 gig will go down in price and so will the 8 gig, which is what alot of us want.
Since 1 gig sucks.

Sony is also planning on rolling out media purchases (later) on its PSN online service just like what Apple itunes does.

this is cool, but I am worried about programs like flashers and other homebrew, cuz my 8gb doesnt let me run programs like psp wardrobe or psp filer. Maybe someone can come up with a patch or a plugin that lets these programs work on a large stick like mine...
