Following SCEE's announcement of new services available for the PS3 and the PSP during its press conference at Leipzig, SCEA announced that availability of the mentioned services is still under evaluation for the U.S. For now, the Go! services and PlayTV will only be available in SCEE territories.

The unveiled Go! services and the PlayTV will launch in Europe next year, and the Go!Explore service is currently available in Japan. SCEA tells GamesIndustry.biz:

[We] want to ensure there is the appropriate level of software that would be applicable and bring value to the consumers in North America. [We] will continue to explore appropriate and compelling software that would allow us to bring this feature to PSP in our market.

To make the Go!Video download service available in Europe, SCEE partnered with British Sky Broadcasting. SCEA is currently "evaluating similar types of partnerships in North America." Dave Karraker of SCEA comments, "We understand and respect the consumer interest in this type of service, and we will continue to explore downloadable content options for our territory."

» How Sad

I know that EU has to wait for certain games or deals to come out, I even understand the Go services, but the PlayTV should have gone to all PS3's. That feels like a "slap in the face" to me and my soon to be PS3.

The go services were understandable because we (USA) dont have any of the Go! stuff, which we should.

» woo :)

at least now there is something for people in the us to be jealous of people in europe rather than always the other way around

» US

We (people in the the US) are always jealous of Japan, now we have EU to be jealous of too, and yet still no progress with technology in the US.

i really hate sony i got a psp for its video and mp3 features and even more because of all these services they make us dream on....then they do nothing but taking our money.....so they should not be surprised that everyone as me did a 1.5 downgrade to finnally get a CFW update to play all those homebrews and especially those like pimpstreamer and irshell(mp3 player at 111mhz !)......so finally all i want to say is this, if sony continue the way they are doing it (lies lies lies), they should not be surprised no one are getting these 25$ umd movies !!!! Jasses
