PSP Quake video: Running on an IR keyboard

Ó

rein4ce over at YouTube posted a video we thought the FPS fans may want to see, as it deals with the PSP's much-celebrated Quake port. According to the coder, this PSP Quake version had been modified to run with the PalmOne Infra-red (IR) keyboard, which you guys may have seen in use on packs like Zx-81's PSPATari v1.0.7.irkb Atari emulator homebrew. See the video to check out its functions:

There's no download link at the moment, which is a major bummer given how much fun PSP Quake was even on the PSP's admittedly FPS-unfriendly buttons and thumbstick. We'll just have to wait, and hope rein4ce decides to share this PSP Quake mod. Cool - all we need now is a mouse mod, and we're all set.

Not to shabby.

See, this is something to be proud of. Now, if someone could get this (or any usb keyboard) to work with bochs, dosbox, or a mac emulator, we could reallt be on to something, don't you think? At this point it's not if, but when.

IM

I personally would like to use it with the browser or for IM on the PSP, that would be really nice

Great!

This is great! I'd love to do office things with the psp (OpenOffice Write for example) Also it would be very cool for the Internet Explorer of the PSP. Sony, start to produce original PSP keyboards!

No thanks on the IE for PSP, i would rather have a good browser. Like Links2. Or anything else.

...

This is great and all but I think what we'd all want is AFKIM support. That would be great.

Oh yeah...

This version of Quake or better yet, CS Combined Assault's Quake could be modified to support this IR keyboard but we'll still need a mouse. :(

lol

except it wont be afKim anymore.. cause you'd have a keyboard :P

Quake Keys

I heard of a key re-mapper for CWCheats. Now, CWCHeats is used on retail games, but what if it could be used on homebrew llike Quake?. I might try this, because PSP Quake would pwn_all if you could have the same keys as, say MoH or Battlefront II. : )

Garbage.

It's utter *****. The PSP is SUPPOSED to be portable. What the ***** do you think the last P stands for? Nice work... NOT. Try again. I swear, I create better crap when I'm on the toilet.
