PSP Keyboards coming? [Update] |

Ó
Two patents have been recently made public only a few days ago suggesting a PSP keyboard. Some of us may remember that Logic 3 was working on a keyboard, but sadly, that was cancelled due to Sony's refusal to provide the necessary command protocols with the company. These two patents that were made public recently call for two PSP add-ons, a keyboard and a cellphone-type keyboard. These patents were issued on November 10, 2004 (before the PSP's release) and were filed by a few Sony developers and they called for an "ornamental design." I'm wondering how this can be ornamental when it looks like a Razr's flat-designed buttons, which are rather "new." It is also noticeable that the keyboard will sit on top of the PSP system, and not on the bottom like Logic 3's design. In the end, this is a better design than the Logic 3 keyboard because you are not "holding up" the PSP with the keyboard, but rather the PSP is holding up the keyboard. The wording is vague and does not give us more than a picture and the claim of an ornamental design, but let us hope that this project wasn't cancelled as well! For the time being, enjoy the patent pictures in hope of reality.
[Update] Well, I knew I recognized this somewhere, and so I did a google search. Upon searching, I found a PSP keyboard that was shown at E3 in 2004! I've uploaded a picture for everyone to see, so is it official, and if so, why hasn't Sony placed it on thier PSP calendar shown with the other PSP accessories? This is all a mystery to us, seeing how this product was shown 2 years ago, and no word on it has come since then.

the prototype of this keyboard was shown before the release of the PSP, there should be some pics on the net somewhere.
but it's totaly not userfriendly, and it will probably never be sold.

I'm very sure their project has been cancelled because of driver issue . Sony will never write any driver for "non-Sony-product" . . . . .
Since Sony looks at homebrew as a sin that doom their business , a special USB driver homebrew for PSP wont be come realitic neither
SAD !
