PSP Fat battery cover on Slim for US$ 3.83 - Image 1 PSP Fat battery cover on Slim for US$ 3.83 - Image 2

As most of you are probably aware, the battery of the original PlayStation Portable is compatible with the new PSP Slim & Lite. While this will provide you with longer hours on the new unit, one downside is that the battery doesn't quite fit with the cover of the new model.

It was reported a while ago that Sony will be releasing an accessory to support the bigger battery on the Slim. Those of you who can't wait for the official cover, however, might want to check out a third-party build being offered by online retail store Deal Extreme.

The store is currently selling two battery covers for US$ 3.83 and charges no shipping fee for any location around the globe. If you are interested, check out the Source link to go to Deal Extreme's page for this product.

Yeah, but Deal Extreme is frequently backordered -- they think they reserve the right to make people wait forever while they take their time ordering stock by using airmail and charging no shipping fees.

Honestly, for some odd reason I was under the impression Sony would be giving a fatter cover along with the PSP's (especially considering the limited edition bundles). Kind of ticks me off they still haven't got the covers or even spare batteries for slim out to retail yet.

That was exactly what I was thinking about.

In connection with the 1seg tuner, this would be REALLY great.

Imagine how long you could watch with a 3600 MHA battery....

i bought my component cables from Deal Extreme along with that 20 pack of earth magnets (cuz they were so damn cheap lol). the component cables came within a week or so, but the magnets took like 3 because they weren't in stock. so its kinda a gamble, but free shipping to me is worth it.

I figured for less than 4 dollars with shipping, why not. I have a 2200mAh battery here I would love to use in the slim. I have been doing more LARP out of town lately and the PSP is great to have along on those road trips.
