The NeoFlash team has come out with a new accessory for the Sony PlayStation Portable called the PSP Motion Kit. This accessory works with all PSP Phats but not the PSP Slim.As the name suggests, the PSP Motion Kit is a motion sensing accessory for the PSP. It's tiny, is plug and play and doesn't need any kind of external power supply.
Sadly, it doesn't seem to support any retail games in its current form. Homebrew games and applications are a go, though. You also need to plug it into the headphone jack, which could keep the PSP's speakers from working. An extra headphone jack built into the PSP Motion Kit would be a nice addition, and hopefully it's something that next iterations of this accessory will have.

Suffice to say if it were a Wii style thing it would likely contain an accelerometer and a microcontroller linked to the serial remote control port next to the headphone socket, kind of like how the dcemu developer used the same port for a serial link to GPS receivers, can't remember the name of that project.
I would bet it could detect side to side motion or up and down (just one or two axes), the size suggests its not all 3 axes, could be wrong though.
If anything though its a great development which is a good idea, well worth releasing, but I cant see much game or homebrew support unfortunately - especially no commercial game support without some game hacking going on.
It would be like using the SixAxis PS3 controller, good for general rough control like 'shake free from enemy grasp' or even steering wheel, no pointing at things like a WiiMote allows tho.

[+ .* :::] ! Another one is Using the PSP as SIXAXIS or at least 2 or thee (X>, Y^) or (X>,Y^,Z /) just for driving games or other games that can be played on PSP also for Homebrew app or games! It would be nice that this features come in our next CFW! U know like when you enter to the M33 VSH menu on XBM you would see two options for the Motion Port, If it conected it enables:
It would be very cool that the next CFW of Team M33 have this feature:
M33 VSH MENU
CPU CLOCK XBM Default
CPU CLOCK GAME Default
USB DEVICE Memory Stick
UMD ISO MODE M33 driver
ISO VIDEO MOUNT NONE
Motion Port INPUT/OUTPUT/NONE
With the Motion Port INPUT you can control the PSP with a wii controler (or XBOX CNTRLR or any other, but most interested on Wii CNTRLR) and with OUTPUT you coul control a Wii console with the PSP! ( or a a PC as a Wifi controler with the Motion Port and using a USB WIFI Transfer( or connector) for the pc!) and NONE shows when U dont have the Motion Port device plug it on the PSP Headphone controler port. That would be a nice Idea of using this Motion Port! It would create even more better use on a PSP. Imagine that! Well All we hope of the next CFW of Team M33 has some great features, ( 3.71 M33 ) and they take advantage of the new devices on the marked ! ( This features could be nice if U guys of *Team M33* Include it on your next CFW!) Thanks!
