Sony will be deploying Location Free products for Europe in the spring of 2006. The product will not only retain the same functionalities with the Japanese and American version, but also will implement the service facing mobile phones.
– What is Location Free
In a short description, you can convert the video you received into compressed data , and broadcast it via WiFi using the base station. Users can then receive the broadcasted data in the bound of WiFi and play it on your terminal device. If you are not home, you can access the data via internet, and playback in any location that has an internet connection (that's why it is named "Location Free" - enjoy your TV program anywhere, either indoor or outdoor). Remote control is also possible.
