KickStart product features similar to Pandora's Battery?

Buyers beware of KickStart: a product which allegedly allows direct homebrew loading - Image 1Word recently made its way to the QJ offices about an upcoming product called the KickStart from Solar Loyal Technologies. This item is said to allow users to launch homebrew, install custom firmware, or even downgrade a PSP's firmware.

KickStart's package is said to include a "special" battery as well as a memory stick. Rumor has it that the battery included in the product is an earlier leaked version of Pandora's Battery, though this has yet to be confirmed.

For those who haven't heard of Pandora's Battery, it was a collective effort by the Noobz team and C+D which unbricks any PSPs (makes them functional again). The process can be done with a spare battery and the information you can find in this article.

KickStart will be hitting the marketplace soon for an ESRP of US$ 60. Please note, however, that everything this product can reportedly do (i.e. loading homebrews, installing custom firmware, as well as downgrading PSPs) can be done without opening your PSP for free if you're a practicing member of the homebrew scene.

» Do not buy this

Awareness of this product is one of the things that forced our hand on early release of Pandora.

If you buy this product, you are directly supporting the theft of the code, and supporting the endangerment of homebrew on the PSP slim.

by MyUser Name - 2007-08-26 00:58
» PSP Slim

Fanjita, the Pandora does not work on a PSP Slim. This was a model sent to a magazine prior to the release of Pandora.

by PSPMAN - 2007-08-26 01:01
» WTH!!

This Company is so gay!! Stealing Noobz hard work to make their own pandoras batteries, and then they slap on a sticker and claim its their own original product! I could have easliy done the same thing! Boycott this! Its cheaper to make a pandora battery yourself! And I have heard that u can change a pandora battery back to normal. Noobz should sue this company.

» Dark_Alex ask to don't support this product

Dark_Alex posted in MaxConsole's forum that this "product" *was* the cause of the rushed release of Pandora's Battery... and he asked to NOT SUPPORT it!! They don't have 100% proves yet, but they will know as soon the KickStart product is released due the leaked version of Pandora's Battery has signed code.

by ANO - 2007-08-26 01:27
» Come on!!!

Come on QJ!!!

You didn't understant that this is Maxconsole's invention?!!

THIS IS FAKE!

Kickstart DOES NOT exist, nor Solar Loyal Technologies... Google them and you'll understand... It's just an invention to get more traffic...

» Just wait...

Just wait, Sony will file a lawsuit on this product. Don't buy it!

by Jesus Man - 2007-08-26 02:23
» WAIT!

Ya'll are dissing this before we know much about it.

It could be that it's not a rip off of the pandora or that it's an advancement of the same hack. If it will allow execution of homebrew on a non Custom Firmware then I say it would be most interesting. Say you have a PSP Slim that so call can't be hacked yet and you use this to play HB on it without hacking out the FW this would be the next best option. Not that I support ripping of Noobs! project but if it is infact an improvement on the project it's much like a patent in the sense that once improved is no longer the same patent and can be re-patented. I'm all for Noobs! getting due credit for their work but if this is something completely different then I see no negitive reason why it couldn't further help the HB community.

» what i think....

Sorry if this offends you, but this looks fake. I can not find any information about that company or the battery on ANY search engine and all i can find are on psp news sites like QJ. I DO hope this is fake. If it is real, the company will be sued by sony and can be by C+D and it will be nearly impossible to buy.

by Nicko01 - 2007-08-26 04:47
» fake

It is definately photoshopped.

by Nicko01 - 2007-08-26 04:54
» the reasons why this is fake

my mother is a professional graphic designer and she knows what is real and what is fake. a few reasons why both her and i think this is fake is that the battery is curved slightly, and the text is PERFECTLY STRAIGHT. there would be a slight bend in the text that would be visable if it was real. even zoomed in at 800%, it is perfectly straight. Also, google for "Solar Loyal Technologies" with the quotes. all you get is a few psp sites and no official site. also, you cant find anywhere to pre-order this or any information about the product, so where would the people who found this have seen it?

by Nicko01 - 2007-08-26 04:59
» reasons:

first of all, my mother, a professional graphic designer thinks its fake. just look at it zoomed in at 800%. The text is PERFECTLY STRAIGHT when the battery is slightly bent. Secondly, google for that company with quotes around it. you get NO official website, only 4 psp websites.
