4GB MSX-M4GS Memory Stick PRO Duo

If you're on a budget then you better check this 4GB SanDisk Memory Stick Pro Duo deal for $104.99. But of you're on a really tight budget, then here's the offer you should look into. Fry's Outpost, an authorize dealer of Sony Electronics (or so the site claims), is offering the 4GB MSX-M4GS Memory Stick PRO Duo that can be used for your digital camera, portable audio device or PSP for $99.99.

Specs:
  • Memory Stick PRO Duo™ media
  • User area approx 3.66GB
  • Transfer Speed{parallel transfer} 160Mbps (20MB/sec)
  • Minimum Write Speed 15Mbps
  • Reliable digital storage
If you're interested in purchasing this mem stick, you should call to check availability first (1-877-OUTPOST). Just keep in mind that they ship via ground only and it may take 1-2 weeks to arrive. How ironic, the price you pay for a bargain.

Thanks goes out to young271 for the tip!

Via outpost

Meh, I don't think they want to waste the time to make it exactly 4.0 GB, but it's close enough :\

» I'll stick with Sandisk...

I just bought a sandisk 4GB from bhphotovideo.com for 104.95 after rebate. Sandisk MS Pro Duo's have faster transfer speeds, so I'll stick to Sandisk.

» The reason for the space difference

To #3:

The reason the actual space you get is less than advertised is because of the way disk space is seen by a computer. Companies market products like this using this method:

1000KB = 1MB

when in reality, the computer sees it like this:

1024KB=1MB

as disks increase in capacity, that difference becomes more and more apparent.

by MinuteHand - 2006-08-05 06:44

How is that ironic?

by randomizable - 2006-08-05 06:47
» DO IT

Someone should try looking into the european market for the bigger memsticks, it really sucks when the best prices you can get in stores around you is like 90 euros for a 2gb when it's much cheaper in the US/Japan. Importing is no option either due to those damned taxes and shipping fees. Damned economy here...:P

by SLOW - 2006-08-05 06:49
» slow

these MS work okay, but remember that the black non-highspeed sony sticks are real slow during transfers.

my fake sandisk 2GB is way faster than my genuine sony black 2GB....

just a warning. it works fine, but write speeds really slow, especially if lots of files i.e. devhook installation

i was worried i wasted some money getting it from bhp, but if the transfer rate on the sandisk is better then im glad i paid the extra $30.

» @randomizable

Lol yeah..

But hey, if u find the right site you dont have Taxes

Like games, go to videogamesplus.ca!! Really cheap, fast delivery (for 5euro's).. And they put a sticker on ur item 'Toy, value 20 dollars'. So no taxes

by randomizable - 2006-08-05 07:02
» hmm

site looks ok, but how much would 1 canadian dollar be in dollars/euros? (or vice versa) Oh yeah, anyone here from Holland know where I can find a playgear street, every store around here doesn't seel them anymore it seems...

» MiB

1000 KB = 1MB

» ????????????

i heard off my local game shop that the psp can only read up to 2 gig at the moment and that sony will eventually bring out a firmware update to allow more memory to be used with the psp like with the psp max hard drive wich is 4 gig.

is this true?

and i would like to know if the speed is dramaticly increased with the 4 gig memory stick due to the dramatic increase in loss of memory because i have a sony 1 gig memory stick with 945 mb free space and and slow write speed and my mates sandisk 1 gig memory stick has got 940 mb of free space and a much faster write speed than.

» you sure you know what "ironic" means?

i fail to see the irony in paying $99 for a memory card and having to wait 2 weeks while they ship it. you may be trading time for money, but how is that in any way ironic?

by Potato - 2006-08-05 16:46
» #38

It's ironic in that you have to wait 2 weeks for them to SHIP via GROUND.

by ******* - 2006-08-05 18:13
» Not Ironic

Ironic- Poignantly contrary to what was expected or intended

So, you pay 99.00 gor a 4gig ms

You wait two weeks for it to arrive.

See how they're unrelated?

Capitalizing the words ship and ground does not prove the point of irony. If they do in some way to you, then elaborate.

It's ironic that the writer brought this to our attention to inform us of a good deal. Yet all we can focus on is his poor interpretation of the word ironic.

Sony sticks write too slow. Horribly slow. Wait and get a Sandisk at the same price and you'll be much happier. I hate my Sony 1gb stick, it's a slow P.O.S. But my Sandisk 2gb rocks.

by comeon - 2006-08-05 20:00

SHIP via GROUND

SHIP being a water fearing vessel that only traverses on SEA.

So The fact that you would SHIP something via ground instead of TRUCK via GROUND, makes it ironice, cause its a sea vessel on land, sucks that i had to spell that out, because now its just not that funny anymore.

P.S. it had nothing to do with the price whatso ever.

newegg 2gb is all you need, its cheap even when importing and less that a shop-bought 1gb.

by stephen - 2006-08-06 00:03
» irony

you americans really do not get irony do you, if the sentence SHIP via GROUND is not ironic to you then stop trying to be smart...seriously just stop.

SHIP via GROUND meaning that the word ship is taken out of context and thus made to look like it is being either shipped via boat or airmail to give the ironic comment, now the fact that it has via Ground on it takes all meaning out of the word ship and so thus it would make sense to take out the word ship as the irony is that it is not actually being shipped by boat as some would see it, "shipped" meaning delivered by a guy in a van.

Now hoepfully you idiots will finally get it.

by andrew - 2006-08-06 00:39
» 4gb the limit(for now)

psp can only have upto 4gb memory card at the moment with no firmware upgrade sony will release an upgrade when the 8mb stick comeout as they wont work with the psp as it stands now.

by Dan - 2006-08-06 01:15
» Relax!

Shipped via Ground is *NOT* irony. The word 'shipped' is being used in place of the word 'delivered' or 'mailed' or 'sent'. That's all, there is no irony intended at the website at all unless you have never had anything shipped to you. It just means delivered.

Stephen, you need to understand that other people live in this world (yes, from America) and we might speak the same language, but we certainly have different dialects and cultures and catchphrases and memes and alternate meanings for words. Shipped is the most common term for sending a package.

It all depends on how you look at it really. I've heard the crap that it's 'shipped on a ship oh a ship LOL'. It's just a term. You see, everybody here most likely has dealt with buying items before, so the term has no irony in it b/c we use the word interchangeably with 'sent' and 'mailed'.

IE, "When is the package arriving?"

"It was just shipped yesterday via USPS Media Mail. It'll take another few days."

"When is the package arriving?"

"It was just mailed yesterday via USPS Media Mail. It'll take another few days."

"When is the package arriving?"

"It was just sent yesterday via USPS Media Mail. It'll take another few days."

Relax! And forgive me for the incorrect sentence structure if there, my girlfriend is the english teacher, not me. ^_^
