Fix your UMD cases with MMR's Replacement UMD Kit

Admit it: we are all a bit clumsy from time to time. But if our clumsiness somehow leads to us damaging certain things, like UMDs, then that's where we have to draw the line. However, accidents do happen, and its great that we have people like the folks at MMR to think up of ways to fix our boo-boos... in this case, broken UMD cases (because you don't use protective cases like this one when lugging your PSP around).

MMR's Replacement UMD Kit is simply a set of three UMD cases which you can use to slip bare UMDs into in case the original plastic shell is damaged. However, even if your UMDs are all intact, you may still want to go ahead and get them for yourself if you're interested in getting colored UMD cases (so far we have seen red, purple, and blue).

The UMD Replacement kit costs only US$ 3.99, and you can get them through MMR's website. If you already got a set but are still too uneasy to swap the cases yourself, then you can check out the video below to guide you in how to do it.

This is the first I've seen of after market replacement UMD cases. Maybe your to narrow minded to see the silver lining here. HighMD.... Make your own UMD's with HighMD and place them in one of these UMD cases and BAM! You got custom UMD with your own data. Try thinking out side the box next time supergooberman

Well... apparently you don't know what HighMD is? If you did you wouldn't have made that comment. HighMD is the next gen of the MiniDisk and can be connected to a PC and you can burn any kind of data to a disk that you'd want to burn, where as the original MD you could only burn WAV audio data. The HighMD is the same size as the UMD and now that we can burn any kind of data to it that we wish and now we have replacement UMD cases we in effect can create our own UMD's. To many simpletons here.

Wicked_Insider - Hi-MD?

is it actually possible to do that with a Hi-MD?

Yes it is possible to do this with Hi-MD I say "HighMD" because others might think I'm saying hi, lol. But yes, it's very doable. go get one, burn a disk with your favorite data and you'll be happy with your own custom UMD's in no time.

Awesome.

I need to keep up on new stuff on here, because this is the kind of thing I need. I have several games that the cases are starting to crack, and one that is unplayable because of it. This is a fantastic find.

AWSOME!!!

They should partner up with Ebgames and sell them their they might make a huge but load of cash out of this cause I do have some cracked discs hehehehe
