First screenshot of Skype PSP, Sony launches USB microphone |
Ó
While it doesn't exactly show the actual software in action, at least it gives a pretty solid look at what it will be like when it's released.
In other news, Sony has also announced the launch of its new USB microphone peripheral for the PSP. Originally bundled with the UMD game Talkman, the new stand-alone accessory is set to hit Japan this January 24 for 2,500 yen (US$ 23). It will also be available in a two-piece set priced at 4,000 yen (US$ 46).This definitely spells good news for PSP users looking to extend the functionality of their handhelds beyond their usual gaming habits.

I guarantee, for absolutely no good reason what so ever, Skype will be Japan Region only.
2500 yen is $23 4000 yen is $46? Did you know there are plenty of homebrew calculators for the PSP? Nice from Sony to make Skype for PSP tho, it's one of the last things that homebrewers didn't make yet. And if it's japan only, a custom firmware will solve the problem i suppose.

After reading some more, i see on tweakers that it will be slim only! Boooooooo
You would look like a total tool talking into a PSP in public. This will make the PSP the most retarded phone ever.
Then you won't look like a tool. Personally, I think people who talk on speakerphone in public with their phone a foot in front of their faces are the tools :P
I bet you you cant use Go!Cam on it. hopefully soon our homebrew phone will have video and talk but I don't see that happen, The wi-fi might burn out.
Hey all, personly i think that the SOCOM headset should be compatable. It would be a horible move for sony not to alow it to work. and using the gocam for video connections would rock.
check out in the official blog... they use those headsets for demo purpose only... buy they will sell some skype headset and the usb mic one... What I wonder is that nobody talk if the skype can use it like the normal messenger... chatting and not talking
I have a question. Has anybody else here seen that microphone before about 1&1/2 years ago? I remember seeing one that looked just like that ages ago in a PDF or Word documents that I got from PSP-Hacks.com I might still have them somewhere.
