CES 2008: GPS function finally coming to U.S. PSP units |

Here are some more PlayStation Portable news directly from the unfolding Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. After announcing the Skype functionality for the Sony handheld, it was recently revealed that GPS functions will finally be incorporated as well.
While the Global Positioning System has been in place in the Japanese PSP for some time now, this is one of the first concrete confirmations from Sony about the matter for places outside Japan.
An official announcement and a release date has yet to be issued but it's really glad to know that GPS is finally being activated for users outside Japan. Unless they want the homebrew scene to keep coming up with replacements for official Sony stuff, however, they'd better dish out the necessary software and peripherals soon. In the meantime, the community has Deniska's MapThis application.

Camera is not out on US either
Did the Japanese one use the sirfstar III chip? I heard it sucked at finding satellites. I'm hoping they update the US one to be better.

Time for North America to finally get the GPS, camera, and TV tuner. They should make the camera better than 1.2 megapixel though. It's pathetic.

Are you retarded? He said "about time" because it's been AGES since Sony originally promised us the GPS, Camera, and tv tuner, and with this announcement it looks like we'll be getting the rest with this too.

English is my 3rd language, but even I know that is not write, just by how it sounds. QJ writers write better then I can, but when they screw up, ohhh its they screw up.
