Bluetooth headphones announced by Logitec for PSP |
Ó
Japanese electronics company Logitec said in a press release today concerning its soon-to-be released Bluetooth headphones for Sony's handheld, the PlayStation Portable (PSP). We really can't read Japanese, but numbers know no boundaries. If we're not mistaken, the new peripheral will debut at around 12,800 yen (US$ 110).
By the way, Logitec is not related to better-known peripheral maker Logitech. Logitec is a Japanese company and an established brand name in Japan since 1974. Logitech, on the other hand, is headquartered in Switzerland and was established in 1981. Trivia: Logitech calls itself "Logicool" in Japan (because Logitec is already there) and "Logi (UK) Ltd." in the UK (because there's a company called Logitech in Scotland that makes polishing equipment).
Anyway, the new Bluetooth PSP headphones from Logitec are scheduled for a Japanese release as of now, but we certainly hope to see them soon in other territories. In case you are interested, we listed some of the features and specifications:

we were just talking about psps and cell phones at work yesterday... i knew it was only a matter of time...!
..but is there really a point to this kind of thing? I find it rather pointless to have a 100+ dollar pair of headphones, and all the extra crap is just that - extra crap. Now, if they manage to bring the price down to something reasonable, even as high as 40-50 dollars, I might consider it. But as is? No thanks. I'll admire from afar.
woow im waing for it but the price is s**t
Does the PSP have bluetooth???
Cool a bluetooth head set!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
no it comes with an adapter, read it: Includes PSP adapter (powered by 1x AAA battery)
Becasue i can say right now Socom would rock with this thing if it enabled voicechat. And how big is the adapter?
Ima buy it just to try to hack it to allow it to accept other appliances like bluetooth keyboards and stuff! A matter of time until it gets hacked +)
yay wired bluetooth :|
lets buy it and hack the bluetooth adaper for use with different devices :-P
it looks cool and cost $110 this must be something
they are wired to each other as in right to left not to the psp. http://www.newlaunches.com/archives/logitec_lbtps100c2_bluetooth_headphones_for_the_psp.php
I have the exact same ones from bluetake (for a year already)
I'm living in Japan and I've seen the original product being sold. The link below is to the original manufacture website(not japanese). They have some interesting products. Also at some expensive stores they go for 9000 yen. If you get the transmitter it's another 3000 yen. The only difference with logitec that I see is they created a more stylish?!? transmitter. Which personally I don't like as I use logicool(aka logitech) street gear hard case that it doesn't work with. http://www.bluetake.com/products/BT450Rx.htm Also I believe both products will have very poor audio quality so I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who wants to listen to music a lot unless you really hate cords. I recommend waiting for someone to come out with a bluetooth 2.0 version of something similar and with better sound quality. Frankly I wish sony would whip one of these up and include noise cancellation, a usb charger that you rest them on(not plug them in with some crappy flap you peel back), option to use a cord to save power or to use when the battery dies... and just for me a design that works well with my case.
so would it be possible to somehow use the bluetooth to communicate with other wireless handhelds like phones. n i lil off topic but damn it would be nice to be able to record from the psp like a phone.
you are totally lame *****!
Wonder if this is even mediocre sound quality and I believe they said it has a mic so I could probably use this to wirelessly listen to music from my PSP and have it paired to my PS3 as well and one touch back and forth for voice chat in motorstorm that would be SWEETS
I'm pretty certain logitech runs under the name of logitech in England. *looks at logitech webcam* Might be different oop north though.
Bluetooth headset sounds great, but kinda pricey. If PSP provides some sort of stand-alone voice chat service via infrastructure I'll get this.
uh if its blue tooth then wire are there wires hanging from them???....
Because you're an idiot. There's wires because the headphones are connected to each other.
Thats exactly what I first thought about when I read the post. Bluetouth devices like a keybaod and mouse aside from the obvious PSP VoIP mobile phone.
Just wait for the price to drop in a year, it will be $50. but yes there is a need for this. Stereo VoIP and multiplayer comm so you can still hear the game in stereo while strategizing. Also, to hack the Bluetooth PSP Adaptor for use with all Bluetooth devices like Bluetooth Keyboards and Mice, too Head Sets + Bluetooth Video Streaming. Bluetooth is used on tons of devices already and will continued to be utilized in future products that offer more options than just headsets and keyboards. (Example) http://www.virtual-laser-keyboard.com/?an+google
http://www.newlaunches.com/entry_images/0307/07/logi5.jpg It's a photo of the Bluetooth adaptor for the PSP.
Where are the stats for these sets? You say the audio is kind of cheesy and it's a 1.0 connection? Wish I would of known of these sets sooner but this is a first for me. Thanks for the link to the other info.
These people can really ask some stupid questions around here. Thats the second time somebody has said they have wires and the first guy was corrected about it, which means the second one just can't read or to lazy to and rather piss people off by asking yet the same stupid question again!
Thing about it, it plugs into the 3.5 socket on the PSP instead of the mini b USB. I dout very seriously that anybody is going to be able to hack the audio port to enable the device to be utilized with anything other than audio devices. Just shot down :( We need a Bluetooth mini b USB adaptor to get connected to other devices of choice.
SONY probably woon't alow USB code for Bluetooth like they did with the Keyboard.
so with the bluetooth can we exchange music to other psp's??? like with the photo options???
Why didn't they make it earlier?. hope it will be released in europe. but one thing psp doesn't have bluetooth.
it does not enable bluetooth capabilities...i would use wireless enable headeet over bluetooth as all it does is plug in ear jack and then the device that has the battery sends the signal over witeless to the reciever in both cases theres a hack to put ipod fm transmitter on the psp on the web ...maybe it cheaper to buy and mod urself and theres already a psp fm transmitter
I dont think this will be compatibale with any other devices because of the fact that it only connects to the psp through the audio jack. The black pieces on this look like they are just to used to hold it to the psp.
check the photo link from wicked insider, you will notice that keyboard or any other devices besides audio can be used with this. hacking nonsense nevertheless.
What about this? http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=2412,CONTENTID=12492
a psp, a psp stand, bluetooth devices compatible with psp, CRIMSONLAND, now that would rock.
Use iRShell, n00b. We've been sharing files with it for almost a year now.
were did u find this???? cuz i would like to check this out
Yeah, I love Crimsonland. That game r0x0rs! Hahahaah.
that will do.. good luck in cutting the plastic curve near the earphone jack.. p/s: guess it still wont fit in
reply to "cool" try and hack it.. i hope your keyboard input are using the earphone jack...
So are these even wireless? ..pretty good, the avg price for a descent wireless set of headphones is like 99$ in frys.
theses headphonies are a peice of crap !!!
does anyone know where i can order this thanks
