AVC recording for PSP |
Ó
For the PSP, iPod and Mobile phone videophiles out there, we've just picked news on a video converter you might wanna check out. ADS just announced the release of their new InstantVideo To-Go product, which allows for easy conversion to the H.264 (.mp4) format your PSPs and iPod can gobble up easy.
For use between your PC and your portable device, this USB key speeds up the painfully long download time you guys have probably experienced when trying to download your LOTR Trilogy into your iPod or PSP. ADS also claims that a five-hour encoding session can be done in as fast as 20 minutes. The other good news is that this hardware-based encoder should be easy to use even for guys encoding for the first time - most of the process is already automated, with it being able to handle the following formats: MP4, MP3, AVI, WMV, MOV, RM, JPG, and TIFF.
The bad news: Better start saving up, as this little device will go for US$ 79.95 - about the price of one Blu-Ray game for the PS3. Unless you're one rich dude with tons o' dough to throw around, then go ahead and get one.

Sure its expensive right now, but wait about 6 months and they'll be all over the place, like ebay, for £30 or less. Definatly worth investing in if you like to watch anime fansubs on the move ;)

"about the price of one Blu-Ray game for the PS3" Uh... what? PS3 games are not that expensive. I think you need some fact checking. They cost the same as Xbox 360 games at that hefty 59.99 price. less than what you're saying. Anyway, for if that really does do everything it claims then I think it's worth it to me. Turns hours of encoding into minutes?
i was wondering when theid bring out a hardware encoder :) i hope the price does come down.
Tif isnt a media format its a format to run applications developed by noobz co.
u really are dumb, tiff is an image media format... but there's an exploit in the way that the psp handles tiff images to allow arbitary code.
Any other hardware encoder or the Nuero's MPED-4 recorder? It doesn't exactly accept VOB there either. Someone better learn frame serving quick.
I can't *****ing understand why you idiots just throw this "about the price of one Blu-Ray game for the PS3". Shame on you...
Someone needs to test it and write an in depth review. I hate transcoding as it's so much hassle. If this solved that problem, it'd be great! Heavy pricetag and no PMP support though :(
So what if it's gonna be a bit faster? I can make one of these with about 20 bucks. Buy a ****in usb flash drive and put psp video 9 on it. If you have the extra 3 dollars you can make your own lable with spray paint. I can't see anyone buying this
Idiots... The article clearly states that the price is "around" that of a PS3 game title... Not exactly $60. Go take that stick out of your butt and quit being so judgemental. You came here for news, you got it.
$20 more is not "around"
Transcoding a full length movie took less than two hours for me... I actually think it was closer to one. If you need faster transcoding, get a faster rig. I suppose if you are an absolute addict and have a mediocre PC you might consider getting a hardware encoder, but is it really worth $80 to shorten a task you could just let happen overnight or while you're doing something else?
